Central University of Tamil Nadu #CUTN embarked on a remarkable journey since its establishment in 2009 through an Act of Parliament. Our academic endeavours commenced modestly at the Collectorate Annexure building in Thiruvarur. In 2013-14, a significant milestone was achieved as we transitioned to our permanent campus, sprawling across 516.76 acres, with the scenic river Vettar dividing it into academic and residential sectors. This pivotal move marked the dawn of a new era for our esteemed institution.
Today, the Central University of Tamil Nadu boasts 13 schools encompassing 28 departments, offering a diverse range of 64 academic programs. Among these programs, 29 are dedicated to #PhD studies, 25 to #postgraduate studies, 6 to integrated postgraduate programs, 1 to a four-year Integrated B.Sc B.Ed ITEP undergraduate program approved by #NCET, and 3 to postgraduate diplomas. The selection process for admissions is meticulously conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (#CUET ), facilitated by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
University Grants Commission ( #UGC ) has recently approved three new departments, further enriching our academic landscape. These upcoming departments include the Department of Pharmaceutical Science, the Department of Food Science, and the Department of Foreign Languages. This expansion highlights our commitment to academic excellence and innovation as we continue to evolve and meet the dynamic needs of our students and society at large.
