Dark leggings, long sweater, booties. My classic winter outfit. Always get compliments. And I’m 61. Like anything else, it’s how you wear them.
Exactly.
I think it depends on:
1. How thick the leggings fabric is.
2. How they’re styled.
Yes. I wear jeggings. They are stretchy, quite thick and look like denim. Loose legged pants don't suit me at all.
I'm new to you channel...2nd visit...l came back for more!😊
For me, at this point, it has come down to my weight. I'm 70, but a young dresser...l met 2 ladies a few weeks ago who looked much older than me, because of their clothes & hair styles! I was shocked to find out we'd attended the same high school...them several years behind me! I was long gone before they were in hs!
So, because my weight is up & down 25# every 3 or 4 years, leggings with tunic tops offered me some style that truly hid a big gut/butt!
Now lm on the "weigh down"--yay! So l have been wearing jeans & some summer pants l saved for "thinner" days...l was surprised that several old pants fit well right now, & my goal is 15-20# more to lose. Some are capris, which l know you nixed on the 1st video l viewed, but hey...they are a staple.
A cpl pairs are very wide leg dress pants, black, to me, very classy.
My mom was a very classy, fashionista...black hair, dark complexion, blue eyes (l got the blonder genes...) But her love of fashion & jewelry definitely seeped into my genes. I am not into funky styles l see women putting on on you tube, but hey, there might be some uptown funk in me somewhere. My style is what l like & can fit into at the moment!
I do enjoy your comments, tho, & my one cold-shoulder top went into the Good Will box yesterday!
So thx & I'll see you again soon...maybe with crop leggings on, which lm wearing now to go out & plant flowers!!!😂🎉😂
I still like leggings but you have to wear longer shirt or tunic or sweater whatever. Cover the parts.
As a wheelchair user they are easy to put on and with the right tops, jackets, shoes and jewellery they will remain a go to in my wardrobe
Makes sense to me
I am 70 and I still wear them. I wear tops that cover my rear. I prefer black or navy but still have prints. I don't wear them a lot anymore but they are great with boots and a tunic.
I have seen leggings so tight I thought they were leotards. Everything under them was visible. I guess the wearer had no mirror.
Hahaha hahaha
Love my leggings and will never give them up.
You do you
Angela has just said you can by all means so be my guest.
Yep! I only have leggings and skinny jeans! I’m 52 and I absolutely do not plan to change…… I’ve lost 100+ lbs recently and I like how they hold me in…. It’s much more important, at this point in my life, to be comfortable. I’m finally to the point where i honestly don’t care what other’s think. My comfort is key!
i am 70 years young and love my leggings. I love to wear them with a longer top, and shoes with either sparkles or sequins etc. Usually only wear black, navy or gray. I love my jeans too. when i go for chemo treatment, it's leggings and comfy long top-usually a Steeler, Pirates or Penguins shirt. Sometimes i wear my leggings with my t shirts with rock bands from 60s, and 70s. Can't give them up. love you, angela!
I'm wearing my 'Van Hagar' concert shirt right now with black, flared leggings. Oops, maybe we should whisper because they'll be coming for our concert t-shirts next!! 😉😂
You can never go wrong with Van Hagar concert tshirt! I’m in my sixties & just bought one for his upcoming concert … Go girl! 😂😂😂
A Pittsburger!!! 😊😊😊😊
Really you’re 70 and you wear camo leggings? And band T-shirts, love to see that. Never seen a 70 year old in that kind of outfit and I live in a retirement state. 🤔
@@pinkbutterflies1679 Since you haven't seen it, it doesn't exist? Of course, it's not the norm. But at 62, these have been things that I've worn for DECADES. It's not something I just started a couple of years ago. I also have dark purple hair right now. I had vivid blue last year and rose gold the year before that. It's not the norm but it's still very cool, edgy, fun and AGELESS.
Thank you! Never liked leggings as a style option.
Ok, so 51 yr old here...hear me out because I just bought my first pair of Lululemon leggings a few months ago 🙃(my wallet is screaming, "Wear them!") LOL! I wear them with a long, oversized tee when I walk down by the river. I feel comfortable that way. Sometimes, I will wear them when I'm running a bunch of errands, BUT here's the thing, I always wear them with a sweatshirt/tshirt that fully covers my front and butt. I don't feel comfortable otherwise. I don't wear them to get togethers or lunch with friends...only when I'm being very active and am wanting comfort! I also really feel that it's the way that they are styled that makes the difference. I have a feeling that they are here for the long haul because honestly, that's pretty much all I see when I'm out. ETA: I feel that a lot of women wear them because they suck you in and make you feel skinnier that you really are. lol
I have never been a fan of leggings because I have very unshapely legs. I think leggings draw attention to my flaws rather than accentuate the positive.
I try so hard NOT to see the women over 40 wearing leggings and tight crop tops at Sunday church services. Seeing every single crotch fold in this particular group of girls and women has me burying my head in prayer. I try so hard NOT to see what is flaunted in front of the entire congregation. Seriously, not in church.
That me too…I have thick knees. I’ve never worn them. I’m just not crazy about seeing them on people who shouldn’t wear them…”People of Walmart”
Unfortunately, I have to agree with that. If all our cellulite and fat rolls are super visable, I am not sure how women feel comfortable on display like that. I guess I am just very modest. Thin and fit, but very modest.
Ever since I went to Europe I do not feel comfortable wearing leggings as leisure wear. You are correct there are to many options 😉☺️
The Europeans are far too classy to wear them. We Americans don't have nearly the pride in our public appearance as they do!! That's for sure!!
I am mid sixties, and have severe G.I. issues. Leggings with tunic length tops work best for me. I also fall frequently, and they are modest options. I have several seizures a week, and I don't have to worry about what others may or may not be seeing.
Hi Elizabeth, I also have epilepsy, and I appreciate your honesty. Mine have been, thankfully, controlled for the last several years with Keppra (Levitericetam), but there was a time when I worried if I would live to see my son graduate from college. I feel each day is a gift, and know that reversal could happen at any time. I pray for you, and understand your choice of fashion totally!💖
@@galeharris6696 Thank you for your kind words and prayers. I'm so glad that you have found a medication that helps you to live a seizure free life.
How blessed you are for being present at such a proud occasion as your son's college graduation.
@@elizabethleach2778 , all good thoughts from me to you, Elizabeth. Know there's a person out in Vermont who has a small idea of how hard life can be with seizures. Keep on keepin' on, my dear. It was a blessed day, for sure! My boy suffered through a lot of Mom checking out, but is now 36 years old, and a special education teacher. I'm super proud of him!💖
@@galeharris6696 What a specia Mom you must be. I was a Special Education teacher for ten years. Those years were among the best years of my life. Thank you for raising a son who teaches the most vulnerable.
Thank you, Elizabeth. I honestly think Clancy has had the seed within him since he was a little tiny guy. So interesting that you also were a Special Ed teacher! I think you must have had a unique perspective, and there IS something about dealing with a challenge such as epilepsy that gives another "layer" of understanding, possibly. And also, if you are observing someone dealing with that challenge, as my son did for so many years, growing up. I felt guilty for many years about the fact that I was not always available, but I am trying to forgive myself for something I couldn't control.
Thank you for teaching the most vulnerable but beautiful souls, as well, Elizabeth. I bet you were an awesome teacher. It is a hard, hard job, and I have the deepest awe for you, Clancy, and those amazing teachers who chose this amazing life path. I send you the best thoughts.
Girl!!! Thank you! I had never asked myself that question and now that I have.... I'm jumping ship with ya. There are plenty of other nice looking and COMFY options for my 60 year old body. AND...I won't have to constantly be looking for tops that cover me both rear and front!! WooHoo! Something I can declutter!
Love my waist match NYDJ. So comfy,
I have worn leggings for over 40 yrs. My first pair were shiny and I took alot of grief for them.😂 I did not care what other people thought and I still don't. I am 77 now and will NEVER give them up....long live leggings!👏👏
Had no idea they’ve been around that long
@sandinewton1896 me either 😂 although I'm 55 and wore the ones with stirrups when I was 18...now that I think of it
@@dianasimplifiesWeren't those called "stretch pants"? They fit a bit looser and not as revealing as leggings.
@@liana2136 mine were pretty tight but might have been slightly less fitted.
Carol, you go girl. Love it
Never giving them up!
I wear leggings everyday but my body type looks best in them! I have tried other pants and jeans but they make me look twice the size! I think we all have to do what works for us!
Leggings for yoga classes but that’s about it
I look better in jeans
I tried leggings on and found them very uncomfortable to be wearing something so tight. I don’t think they look good on anybody young or old, they look like you just forgot to finish getting dressed. Seeing your photos, make me realize how very dated they look now. Thanks for being so honest in your videos.❤
Believe it or not, I've never owned or worn leggings. No judgement on those who do, I just never have.
I have not owned a pair either
Same!
Same
Same! I wouldn’t be caught dead in them- and I’m a size 8.
I used to only wear khakis and didn't own jeans. Now I love jeans and don't wear khakis. Things change 😂 however I will not part from my leggings
I'm wearing leggings right now. They are faux leather black with a long oversized white button of top that covers my rear end and thigh. I like them on chilly days when I'm going to be in the car for many hours. I love the wide leg trend too and I have some the wide leg pants. I also have jeans with a lot of stretch. Neither of them are as comfortable as sitting in the car in a pair of leggings.
I agree with you 100 percent regarding leggings. But I wouldn't even wear them on a road trip.there are more comfortable and stylish clothes I would rather wear now that I am in my fifties.
In my opinion leggings are just very thick pantyhose, not stylish at all for any age.
Agreed. So many better options.
Wear whatever you like and makes you feel good!
I was watching CZcams in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner and couldn't wait to get done to check the input on this one on my laptop! I agree. There is a time and a place for everything and apparently there are too many who think leggings are for every place.
I wear black leggings at least once a week and style them with an oversized sweater, long white shirt or chambray shirt. I think for mature women there are ways to style leggings that look put together and stylish. My leggings are good quality ones and not from Walmart. I'm not giving them up anytime soon.
Any jeans with spandex will be tight initially, but within a few hours I am constantly having to pull them up!
I just have never felt comfortable wearing leggings except to workout! I am not overweight, but because I’m short, I do not choose leggings as my go to pants for going out! I chose something just as controversial, skinny jeans! I LOVE them and wear both crop and tunic style tops with them. I have some straight and girlfriend and boyfriend jeans I also wear. I will not wear my pjs out, and rarely wear sweats out! I respect people’s individual choices! Thank you for being genuine about your feelings! I’m close to 70!
I still love my leggings. They are an every day staple for me. I have ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia so I am all for the comfort. That being said I also wear jeans and regular pants, it just depends on the occasion and what I'm doing. What you won't find me in are palazzo pants or any style with all that extra fabric. I find them very uncomfortable and they make me feel fat. Personally I think everyone should just wear what they look and feel the best in. I have always enjoyed finding out about style trends and what is in or out, but I've never necessarily followed all that in my own wardrobe. My style has definitely evolved over time. I really enjoy your videos because you have such a great sense of humor. I always come away with info to think about and a smile. Thanks.
Angela, you breaking up with your leggings was hysterical! But like you said it is a personal choice, no shaming at all! ❤❤
Love it! I’m 68 and I never owned a pair of leggings until the last year or so. I bought them because all of the ladies at the gym and my exercise class were wearing them. I will probably continue to wear them in those places, but I never considered them a replacement for real pants in my wardrobe. True confession: there have been a couple of times when I needed to run into the grocery store on my way home from the gym…and I felt self-conscious! To each her own!
Once when we went on a motor coach tour , there was a woman, 60 plus years old….quite bow-legged….who wore bright flowered leggings with a short top e.v.e.r.y day…..she looked ridiculously terrible….so….think about how you look in leggings before you wear them in public.
I REALLY don't like the wild looking, flowery or geometric style leggings. They are SO YUCK!
There will always be women who just don't care about style and fashion.
This is how I feel about shorts, only for the backyard, and I have good long legs, but prefer dressier out. Often asked why so dressed up? 😆
Remember you are not so dressed up as others may put it, you dressed in what looks good on you and makes you feel good about how your clothes make you feel and look. You are not dressed up you are dressed intentionally! People who say that may just be a tad envious! Stay who you are👍👍👍😊
@@gsoginny Dressed intentionally looks more "dressed up" than those dressed unintentionally even when intentionally casual, if that makes sense. Where I live, it's so common to see people grocery shopping in pj pants and ratty tees that something as simple as jeans and a cotton v neck tee with a coordinating headband, small gold hoops and ballet flats looks "dressed up" by comparison. I don't wear shorts much either. I feel the same about them as Angela explained about the leggings. There are so many nice looking skort options and casual linen or palazzo pants that I'm still able to get the ease and comfort of shorts but look more put together.
Always better to be overdressed than underdressed.
I'm 68...love, love, love,my leggings. I wear them with a longer tunic top (which is also not current) , and I don't care!!!!!
Angela, I have to agree with you. I work in a store so I get to see a lot of people coming and going. Some people have no idea the details their leggings are showing the world. Stuff like that I cannot unsee!
The printed leggings are so far out of date that when I see people wearing them, they have to be older . Nobody younger would be wearing them.
Paired with contemporary pieces I’m sure they can still look nice on some gals .
As with many in the population, they will choose comfort over style.
I’m with you. I have moved on from leggings except at home or working out. I always wore black ones and honestly, they never looked that great on me. Love your videos and personality!👍
Thank you Pamela! 😊
I love my leggings. They actually come all the way up to my real waist. So many pants today are low rise and even mid rise and they leave most women with a spare tire but not leggings. Worn with tunics they look and feel great. Not ditching my leggings!
So many of us do not look good in leggings. My vote is for more looser pants, knit pants are wonderful.
I do agree with you. To me, they look best on girls and young women. I
wear what looks good on me, mostly straight leg jeans with a cute top.
Never wore them, never liked them. I have always considered them as gym wear.
Whatever age you are…if you have the body for them, wear them😁
Totally agree. If you’re overweight they are a big NO.
I’ve always loved them but I only wear them with a tunic length top. They look fine as long as everything is covered! They are comfortable, smooth under clothes , go nicely in boots, etc. nothing too thin or shiny, and darker colors look much better. Too many people wear them as pants and it’s NOT a good look!
I'm right there with ya, Angela! Overall, I left "everyday leggings" behind in the year 2000.
Leggings are my go to on 26 hour flights. I pair black leggings with a black tee, black jacket, and scarf.
Me too, Angela! I have not been able to put them on at all this year. I feel like the jeans are comfortable enough now. Especially since straight and flare are back.
I’m a dog rescuer and I wear leggings all the time when I’m walking and training the dogs. I don’t love them but they work well for my needs……of course I wear long tops and I guess if others think I look stupid that is okay with me! Haha I remember the tight jeans and eating a meal back in the day lol…..
I wear jeans, trousers or skirts when walking/training my dogs. How do dogs prevent somebody to wear proper clothes?
@@cordulam Skirts???? To walk your dogs...
Wear what you want! And thank you for rescuing dogs. I have a rescue that is 9 years young.
Hi Angela. I am 77 (very old!) I wear leggings underneath my jeans or slacks for warmth. Otherwise, I do not wear them in public. However, I do wear them around the house sooo comfortable while performing houhold tasks. Thanks for your interesting and thought provoking videos!
77 Is not old!! 😊You keep rocking no matter what age you are 👍🏻
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 Thank you Angela! I love your videos and have taken your advice and styling tips!
Leggings: "Style Staple" in my life. No, wait, I take that back. Not "style" staple but "living staple." Too practical . . Too comfortable . . Too useful. Solid colors or subtle monotone print, nothing nude or too light colored or "jegging". Now that designers are fashioning beautiful kimonos and stylish longer tunics, I wear mine all the time. A friend and I were talking about how we would never have thought we would be wearing them in our 60s and how back in the 60s our mothers would have told us they were inappropriate for public wear. But somehow they wrapped us in their comfort and ease and, as long as we have nice coverage so that our bums aren't taking center stage, I'm good with them as day-to-day useful fashion.
Right there with you!!
I wear mine on long haul flights. I also wear them to the store.
I agree wholeheartedly
The mothers would have been right. What is wrong with a slightly looser pencil or what was called "cigarette" pant? That's what I wear ... I sew them myself.
@@liana2136 Well, certainly no argument that there are options other than leggings. I'm thinking this way: when I walk the dog, when I walk 3 miles to run an errand, activities such as that, I love leggings as practical and I don't mind being active in them. If I'm going out for lunch, an informal meeting, other low-key social events, I would opt for jeans or linen pants or woolen pants, whatever the weather demands. I'm just not against leggings; they are extremely practical.
I think leggings (black, navy, gray, brown) look great in the Fall/Winter with a long chunky sweater and boots. I don’t wear them in the Spring/Summer.
Hi Angela, I only wear leggings around the house and to work out. Sometimes, when I get lazy, I sleep in them. Thanks for this interesting video!
A few years ago, it became “a thing” to wear pj bottoms and bedroom slippers to the mall. I expressed my opinion in a conversation with my co-workers, and someone responded “at least they were dressed.” So, I guess we all set our own bar when it comes to what is appropriate. Leggings are just a lower bar. As for stretch in our pants, I think that’s the reason so many of us put on weight without even realizing.
OK...I'm just a sneeze away from 70 yrs old but my take on leggings is this: First, if you're going to wear them, cover up the "private" parts (I'm talkin' the front, you know ladies what I mean) with a top that does the trick! I've asked: Men do NOT like that much 'visuals'! Secondly, it's not about how old you are but whether or not you look good in them. Let's face it, some people simply do not look good in them...me for example! Yes to wearing them to the gym or at home or as an added layer under something else such as a longer skirt or extra long sweater or blouse...NOT as a pair of slacks!. (I work from home so I sometimes do wear leggings.) No to thinking they're appropriate for everywhere. Those leggings that are super tight, shiny, paired with a crop top (baggy or fitted) just seem way too casual for some places IMO (eg. going to church) for ladies of any age. There are so many other comfortable items of clothing out there for any body shape besides leggings.
This is mostly an American phenomenon - if you go to Europe they ONLY wear them at the gym. They say that you can tell the American tourist because they wear leggings - Europeans do not wear them in public
Americans have become lazy sloths when it comes to dressing.
There you have it. The slobification of America.
Is Brits wear them alot
Thanks Angela; I contemplate this issue often as I’m 65 and absolutely love my leggings but often wish for a nicer but equally comfortable option. I do believe everyone needs to do what’s right for them and their individual style and comfort levels however, leggings are over used and we need to consider other styles.
Thank you Angela for this video. When I moved to my neighborhood six years ago some of the neighbor ladies stopped by to welcome me. They are all around my age (67) . They proceeded to tell me that all of the ladies in our neighborhood wear leggings and that I needed to as well. They said they never wore jeans because they were so uncomfortable. I showed them that the jeans I had on were skinny but they had tons of stretch. Well, I never did change my style and have continued to wear what is in style but appropriate for me. I always say if all the gals that want to wear leggings as pants, if they could really see their rear view walking and standing they'd NEVER wear another pair. Tight shiny pants show every lump and bump and then the fact that most older women wear them with their granny panties-SMH!
50 here. I do a lot of travel and my merino leggings are comfortable when sitting a lot, and the close-fitting fabric means it's not going to get on public bathroom floors, trip me, or get caught in anything (I'm clumsy too).
That said I do also buy trousers that are narrower at the ankle (jogger or barrel styles) that serve this purpose.
Just remembering stirrup pants from the late 80s :)
Leggings are popular cause you can gain or lose 10 pounds and they still fit. Since they show every bump and curve of your lower body they aren't always flattering to most. I know! Interesting conversation.
I love my leggings! But I mostly just wear them around the house and to exercise and if I’m going to get gas real fast or something like that
Agree with you, Angela. Have relegated my leggings to Pilates class and mooching about at home. Sad but necessary, though xx
Thank you Angela!! I was at the airport and was shocked how many women were wearing leggings that should not be. I totally agree with you. There are plenty of options to be comfortable and fashionable!
I never felt comfortable wearing leggings other than for exercising, so I didn't/don't wear them for anything else. I don't love them on others either as a wardrobe choice, because I feel they reveal way too much. Don't get me wrong, I love stretch jeans, but leggings are in another category for me, so yeah I agree with you Angela.
Leggings are fine gor home but not elegant and look cheap no matter.
Angela thank you for this video! You are right on point!
The issue of leggings is a never ending discussion point on my European travel social pages…(especially the Paris one)…however, it all comes down to how you’re styling yourself, and the need for comfort…btw, there’s no one answer…other than “it depends”…thanks for the interesting and fun video! 😊
Leggings forever for me…I don’t even care if they go totally out of style. I love them! Heck, I’m wearing a pair right now. 😂❤
Great video! I AGREE 100%. I feel lucky that I still can wear leggings bc I wear a size 6-8. But let's face it, at 57 it's inappropriate. Like you, I don't feel elegant in leggings. So I did a big switch-up/change-up & now I wear wide leg, boot leg, palazzo & loose straight pants. I feel better, less constricted & classy.
You also need to take into consideration what your legs look like. My legs are fat. I only wear leggings at home, when I’m not going anywhere.
Good food for thought for this 60+ with lots of leggings. I think my leggings wardrobe expanded a lot during covid. I too have been feeling like I want to elevate my look and not wear the leggings as my all the time look.
Thank you Angela for covering this subject with such grace. I totally agree with your perspective. Leggings are for the gym, yoga, and at home comfort. If you want pull on pants they do come in other styles that don't cling to every bump. Thanks again for starting the conversation 😊.
Not a leggings person. But I do like skinny jeans ❤
Leggings are great. I'm about comfort. I'm above 65 and i still wear Leggings.
I have so many clothes that I can probably pull any trend out on any given day. Legged are just part of my wardrobe wardrobe.
Angela, I agree with you. After a certain age, wearing leggings as pants for every place to go, is a bit over board. I have a dress I’ve bought ( maybe I shouldn’t have) I’m needing something like leggings to go under it. I think also a person should consider their bodies, I’m overweight therefore wearing them as pants is a huge no. In honesty if never felt that comfortable in them. I too, am wanting a more polished elegant look. 😊❤😊
THANK YOU, ANGELA, You are spot on! At home, sure …. In public, PLEASE don’t subject me to your curves & rolls of fat!! My opinion is that very few women look good in leggings. Perhaps under dresses in winter?? (Since we don’t wear panty hose anymore……loved THAT video by the way!)
I'm 56 now. I wear leggings to the gym and afterward to do errands. Other than that, I just wear jeans or a dress when it's warm. I used to wear leggings all the time with a long shirt or sweater, but I've gotten away from that.
Right now, I'm actually wearing the corset jeans from Walmart that you talked about in one of your videos. SO COMFORTABLE!!!
I...just....don't think leggings are pants, There I said it😃But seriously I think a lot of people wear them with a big flowy top thinking the outfit kind of conceals areas we don't like. But for me it's just not a great look, and there are much more flattering fashionable modern things to wear that are also comfortable - even a cute matching sweat suit and white sneakers are comfy and cute! ...And also don't look like I'm clinging to the 80's. Stay comfy and beautiful, friends (and wear those leggings if they work for you!)💙💙
For exercise, I like the Spaulding yoga pants for substantial fabric and flared legs. Sketchers makes nice flared yoga pants that are also better than leggings . We can do better.
At 70+ yrs. old , love the comfort of those yoga pants for at- home wear - just not too tight , even tho' I try to eat well & exercise ( lots of dog walking ! 🐾🐾 💙 ) to stay a size 4 . 😂 Prefer comfortably fitted dark jeans or khakis to run errands . Time & place for everything ! 🥰 ( Lands End has nice yoga pants too , etc. often at sale prices )
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
That statement applies to pretty much everything in this life! 💖
Damn straight
I can see you gave this a lot of thought and I agree with you 100%
Short leggings - capri length or shorts length - fold up & pack well.
To wear in the hotel room, to the gym if resort has one or perhaps to pool-side or bike or e-bike ride.
Not for museums or other sight-seeing.
At least in urban areas.
IMHO
✈️🛩🛫
Love my leggings at 50. Palazzo pants look very comfy, but higher maintenance, perhaps?? I don’t have to iron my leggings! 😂 AND… I love my CAPRI leggings (I know what you said about them….), but I like them because they are short enough for warmer weather, and hide my lumpy thighs and knees which I am becoming more and more self conscious about. 😬 And I can wear a larger tunic or T-shirt to cover my derrière! 😅. Thank you for your videos!
Absolutely agree!
I love leggings.. I think a good compromise is (thickish) flared leggings. They look more current and fashionable without losing the comfort!
I’m with you, leggings are now only for working out or lounging around at home. So many other flattering options for every day wear. Great video as always, Thanks Angela😘
Hi Angela,
Cute video! All of the inserts!
I agree with you!
Have a wonderful day!
I love them and too comfortable to give up.
I'm pretty much done with leggings and Long tops. I'm mad at myself for covering my butt for Years when it looked fine! Did the same thing some in my 20s with the leggings with foot strap. Why????????
I agree! I wear them as comfy at home.
Flair, boot cut, and wide leg are what is currently in style. I'd say there out, but don't toss they'll be back soon
They're comfortable. I like wearing them, mostly black & i have a couple of boot legged ones too. I just make sure the private parts are covered all around.
This is true for any outfit, IMHO!!
Living in Southern California: I do wear them often. We live an active lifestyle and I have 2 dogs: one large sheepa-doodle and one medium sized rescue. So if I get dressed in the morning to go walk them, then have errands to run afterward: I don't change clothing to run errands. (56 years old and feeling young at heart.)
I finally discovered fleece lined leggings this winter and absolutely love them! But -- only for exercise and around the house. I have never worn leggings for anything but exercise. If I wear them out of the house for exercise, it’s always with a long tee that covers me up
Many people still wear them... I suppose that's why a debate is on here- Money is also tight for the basics like food, gas, rent, Doctor bills, insurance, so buying different kinds of pants might not be an option. It's just a thought, for those who care-
Leggings provide me with comfort and a good fit. I like not having a zipper top which can be uncomfortable. I always wear a long top/tunic so they look completely appropriate. I would never wear them with a short fitted top.
Lots of nicer pull on pants out there nowadays
Team leggings. The only place I don't wear them is to church. I wear them to grocery runs, to Home Depot, to volunteer activities, bowling, top golfing, etc. Mostly everywhere. TBH, my style has remained the same since my 20s. Boots, sneakers, jeans/leggings, t-shirts, sweater and blazers, and a ponytail. I've tried to change but I just always return. In the 80's we wore stirrup pants, which is a form of legging. I work 6 days a week, so most of my wardrobe consists of scrubs anyways. 😂😂😂
You sound like me but I wear them to church under dresses 😂😂
Hi Angela. I do agree with you. I used to wear my leggings out with a long top. Now I only wear them in the house. When I go out I wear jeans. Feel better in public in jeans. Great video. Have. A nice day ❤
Style Staple. These things work for almost everyone and are very practical for working out, shopping, etc. Sure, you can put them away for dressier occasions, but otherwise I can't imagine living without them.
love.. Angela you are wonderful with your cute outfits
Love this video. Love your sense of humor and love the music too! PS I totally agree with you.
As I’ve been going through my closet, these were one of those items I was thinking about! I agree though! I think they are out. As comfy as they were. I’m breaking up with them. Thank you for always giving great fashion sense to us in our 50s! So appreciate your input, encouragement, and goofiness! You always make me laugh! Love your channel!
Personally, I've never worn them, even to the gym. However, I do greatly struggle with finding comfortable pants for my 57-year-old short-waisted body! A video exploring lots of options for (casual, dressy, office-appropriate) would be wonderful!💜
Yes!!! I totally agree with you Angela! Thank you!😊❤
