Possibly their best record to date having now listened to it 4 times. The Prodigal is absolutely stunning!
Fix Yourself is also mind bendingly atmospheric, so reminiscent of Disintegration era Cure.

Most reviews have quoted it as their best since Meds in 2006 but I'd go even further then that and say for my money it's their best album since at least Sleeping With Ghosts infact from a music expansiveness perspective it is arguably the best they've ever done.

Did you listen to more then once?...
Its a slow burner buddy, on first listen I thought it was the worst album they'd ever done but when I went back to it a 2nd time out of pure curiosity for the glowing reviews from the music press I had to reprocess my expectations of what I wanted to hear and ultimately what the band were aiming to create and the end result being it is now possibly my favourite ever Placebo album because it has more musical depth and expansive production then anything they've done previously plus the songs grow on you because of the attention to detail in this record.
If the repetition of lyrics on face value sounds monotonous and annoying it eventually becomes ingrained in your conscience.
me encanta placebo.... pero esta horrible el álbum, canciónes sin alma sin, arte, no me transmitió nada, por dios donde están los placebo de los bellos 90,s. me duele decirlo pero ya no dan para mas.
Album très décevant de la part de PLACEBO qui nous avait habitués à mieux. Rien ne ressort de ces treize titres. Dommage 😢
I thought the same on first listen but once I gave it a 2nd chance it began to grow on me, it's a slow burner rather then an instant thrill which is often a much better sign then something you only enjoy for a short time before the novelty wears off.
It's comfortably their best since Meds and possibly their best since Without You I'm Nothing
