Why would you reboot after an update in Linux?

Great question! You don't have to restart after every update. However, updates to your Linux kernel will require a reboot. In this video, I edited the config file for auto updates so that it would restart on its own when it is installing a kernel update. That being said every situation is different and you may not want it to do this automatically on your machine.
