    There is a character in Heroes of the Storm-Anduin, which also has a pull ability. He is one of the top tier picks because it means that the ally has a get out of jail free card. However that is a MOBA game and FPS works differently in so many ways: dropping off the map, wall obstruction etc. It is obviously very strong so it has a high cd (70seconds iirc). Having a high cd could be a solution that prevents too much trolling like 40-45seconds instead of 20.

      @Brook Chegwin the entire idea of this ability is that lifeweaver would be able to save a teammate even when they don't realize the danger themselves.
      Adding a confirmation button will piss both parties off - lifeweaver because they would just waste their time and ability because of their teammate, and the teammate because now every fight they will have to think about timing the confirmation properly and thinking of it mid fight.
      Besides, where's my confirmation button as a teammate for a friendly rein solo charging the enemy team? Or a confirmation button for my Sombra getting mercy beamed while she's invis?

Having a character who can move around friendlies in a shooting game extremely dependent on aim and positioning, is just asinine. It can actively disturb other players and ruin their flow. That is way different than just having a teammate who dies

    The pull ability should be updated to where a small platform is immediately summoned underneath the teammate being pulled, so that no matter where Lifesaver pulls them into, the platform will guarantee the teammate’s safety.

    How about when he presses his E, the teammate will be shielded for 2 seconds no matter what. Within this 2-second window they can quickly choose if they want to be transported to Lifeweaver. The button to confirm would be the same as Sym's teleporter. If they don't click to confirm they'll stay where they are.

    I feel like the pull can help in certain team fight scenarios, like you could pull ram over and they go into nemesis or pop their ult or if you petal up to a decent spot you could pull your Cassidy ready for deadeye or pull snipers to better spots when on defense. I really think that life weaver is definitely going to be a hero that works well when you're on voice chat with friends. It seems he needs a lot of communication between team members

Players get upset because they're dying will drag you to their position, players will get salt gripped into pits by people just because. I see a lot of good strategic use out of his kit but it's definitely going to get abused for trolling

    Seems like a character that will be insane to watch at high level play with good teams, and I can firmly say I would be excited to see how he fares up in that level. But in the lower ranks I can't say I would ever be happy to see a Lifeweaver on my team in any scenario

    I feel like they should make the pull a 2 part interaction. The first part is that it give the target a shield like it currently does(or like zarya bubble where you can bust it), but the target can press the interact key and be pulled. That would remove the troll and also let the target decide if they need help.

      Probably the fact their kit all over the place and has trolling potential with nearly every ability. There’s a massive power creep problem in OW2. Each new character is expected to do something new and exciting, resulting in abilities that completely overshadow or negate other hero kits. Or in this case, break certain aspects of the game.

    Yeah, he can be used to troll a bit, but he'll be great for premade groups. Communicating that they're gonna dive and want pulled out. Or knowing to only use it when your teammate asks for it. It'll be great. I'm looking forward to this hero. Really excited.

      I just see this really being a bad struggle for lower ELOs especially. Unfortunately in these elos, people get stuck because absolutely nobody wants to communicate and most players are there to troll. I kinda wish he was available for like Diamond and up players, who will actually utilize him well. For anything below, he will be dangerous more for the ally team.

    Paragon had a similar character named Phase, she also had a pull ability. At the beginning and throughout the game, you had either the option to “trust” the phase and her pull would work instantly. But if you didn’t choose that, you would need to interact for the pull

    I am concerned about his ability to move an ally to him. That takes agency from the player getting pulled and it seems like in times where it results in death it is going to tick people off SO much. It doesn't even have to be for trolling, it doesn't even have to kill you. It could be with the best of intentions and people are still going to hate it. Of course like Stylosa said, it is going to be such a dangerous ability to have in an environment where people can be toxic or think they know how you should play better than you do. I have a friend who always sticks to the cart like his feet were nailed to it instead of focusing on winning the team fight and tries to force everyone to stay on the objective with him and my God, I just know he's going to use this ability to DRAG people back to the cart and not understand when people start getting toxic about it.

      Sometimes some players shouldn't have agency, people will legit be actual chimps, and being able to prevent a 4v5 before a fight even starts is a boon. Can enable some gigachad plays, let your jq go in hard, then pull them back. He reminds me of Taric from league a bit. People talking about how they want fresh and interesting champs, and one comes they complain about them being able to do new things 🗿

    For his pull ability make there be an option for allies to confirm/give consent to be pulled by him. Similar to how Ana has a confirmation option for the nano ult.

      that takes away his ability to make plays with it. example if your on zen getting jumped you probably wont confirm the pull fast enough for the save since your going to be focused on fighting. to get the best out of the ability he would need to have full control.

      As a doomfist player I'm very scared. If I dive in, about to get a 3k with a charged punch that'll give me 70 bonus hp, and get pulled right before then because the healer "thinks" I'm in danger, I'm going to be annoyed.

    I feel like one big problem other than trolling will be lower skilled supports that pull you back when you are diving somebody in the enemy back line when you have all your cooldowns and are trying to secure a kill

    I feel like an easy fix for the pull without requiring confirmation is just allowing the one pulled to jump out of it and cancel the pull, sure if you're standing too close to the well you'll likely still fall (so they could add a floating mechanic to allow for maneuverability) but besides that it fixes the problem without taking away from it

      @@ntdscherer Bob counts as a "Player Character" you can heal him, sleep-dart him and nano-boost him, so I'm fairly certain you'll be able to pull him. For Tokki. You can "hook" the enemy Tokki with roadhog pulling it into your team wiping them, so it's highly likely you can pull your teams Tokki as Lifewaever. :/

      Yeah, a good combo would be you reaper or orisa ults and you pull them into the enemy team. You just need to flank them or hide behind the enemy team

    It would be cool if the theme of his healing was similar to his ultimate: leaving behind flowers that do miniature healing pulses for a brief period of time. So for example, when he dashes, he would leave behind a trial of like 3 or 4 petal blossoms (that have like 30 hp each) that would pulse 3 times a second for 40 health per pulse before fading away. If he max charges his healing fire, he leaves behind a petal blossom at the targets location that does a few healing pulses. His ultimate's aesthetics would be changed to have a large group of petal blossoms on the ground around the tree to match with the aesthetic with the rest of his kit.
    Note: the "petal blossoms" that I suggest look very similar to his petal blossom ability, just at a smaller size.

      I reckon just have healing over time at full charge because as a charge up I think trying to heal multiple people at once is way too hard.
      Example numbers would be Increase charge up time and have it do 25hp/s at 100hp per charge and 2.5 - 3 second charge up. From the video it looks like a 1.5 second charge up
      Could also be a burst of 50hp on hit and then 50hp over time at 25 a second with a longer charge up
      I think this would be good but they would have to remove the speed reduction.

    For the conformation thing on his abilities for the the grip, they can add the option of confirming like Anas ULT and next to that in the setting or somewhere they can have "always accept or always decline" and you can change it for each new player you come in contact with, this for life weavers teammates, and when they decline it shields the ally instead of pulling, they can also add that as a feature where he can either pull and immune or shield and purify maybe. Or just shield.

    I think a good change for life grip will be after you pull a person a small flower platform stays beneath the pulled in player for like 2-3 seconds or until the player gets off it. This will stop people from trolling as easily. As the person has a small window of opportunity to reposition themselves away from the pit and Survive.

    For the pull, I would suggest a toggle in the menus that require you to confirm the pull, but leaves it open so if you're grouped it can still happen instantly. If I'm playing with friends, I'd want it to happen instantly, but with randoms, give me the choice.

    His kit is cool in concept and even the abilities themselves are awesome but some stat adjustment and control changes need to be implemented.
    Damage and healing: I think his dps should be lowered slightly but his ammo count increased so he can still actively participate in a fight but not be oppressive in duels.
    His healing output needs a major buff, increasing the time needed to fully charge and the power of a full charged shot so that it is more impactful and situational but also increasing his base healing ability so that he can still have a consistent output to fall back on when spamming.
    Elevator: the platforms cooldown should only begin to charge after it is destroyed, Also the platform could work in stages so the first stage is deployment onto the ground, then when it is on the ground using the ability key again will begin the ascent, while ascending the ability key can be hit a third time to stop it in place or it will automatically stop at its maximum height, the final use of the ability drops the platform and resets its cooldown.
    Dash: I honestly think this is fine as is, it bloats his already massive set of abilities but i don’t think it is harmful to him as a character.
    Grab: Rather than forcefully yanking someone from position having the grab be a toggle just makes sense. You select a target in LOS and mark them for grab, this mark is similar to zens healing and discord orb and there is some kind of visual indicator for the marked player, then whenever the marked player presses the interact key they are dragged to the weaver.
    Also I believe they could implement a system where you can forcefully drag a player if the game recognizes there is no safe ground beneath them(such as illios well or any other cliff). This would allow the life saving plays and mitigate the trolling aspects aside from griefing a flying target but I think that’s negligible overall.
    Tree of life: I agree that it’s underwhelming but it still seems fine for balancing and general gameplay
    Martydom: I think this just needs to go, either that or a major nerf to the amount and for it to be only for teammates

    I could see lifeweaver working best with communication, more so than other heroes. Like you could have your genji say he's going to go for a dive in the enemy mercy or ana, and you can pull him away after he confirms the kill, or you hear your team's reaper regretting a push and helping him reset by pulling him out of danger. Also I can see the platform being used to just shut down ults, like seen in the trailer with orisa's ult.

      ive learned that in solo que the best thing to do is turn comms off. no point in arguing with people, listening to people try to back seat game, listen to everyone point figures, etc. ive actually been ranking up with it off. i just go in and try to get a feel for what people are doing and play to it. this new character will probably have to do the same. you see ana alone getting jumped? pull. you see winston make a dumb jump into bastion, etc. coordination in solo que is very limited.

    Here's what needs to change for pull. When you use the ability your ally should get the immune effect like they do right now, HOWEVER in order to be pulled back to lifeweaver you have to press jump during the invincibility window. If you do you'll be pulled back, but you were the one to decide being moved. If you don't press jump during the initial imune effect, then you'll still get the immunity effect but only for a brief period similar to suzu. This would make it so that lifeweaver players would still be able to save dying teammates without having to wait for a confirmation that would make the ability clunky, while also leaving the dying player the choice of being moved. I feel since the ability already gives a crazy amount of invincibility during the pull back animation, it would be balanced to let the ability give a brief amount of invincibility if your teammate doesn't want to come back.

    I can see the petal platform thingy being used to get a Widow or a Hanzo to extreme heights in the middle of the map. Given that the thing only has 400 HP but its a good way to get a cheeky few unexpected kills. You can probably also displace the enemy tank and hammer in on the back-line with a big combo or something.

    I think the best way they could rework his grippers would be to have the target player push the interact button before they get pulled. So Lifeweaver puts his ability on an ally, then they have a couple of seconds to push interact, else the skills wears off. This effect could last for like, 1 or 2 seconds so that it's still a reaction based ability. I imagine something like putting a visual border around the player's screen so that it's easy to react to.

    To prevent the pull when lifeweaver jumps off the map add an LOS check if LOS is broken the pull stops. and add a quick check if the ally being pulled would also be pulled off the map either pull the ally behind lifeweaver (because most likely lifeweaver is standing very close or on the edge of a ledge) or cancel the pull entirely. The other stuff like pulling a tank that diving in might have to be fixed with an interaction key to "Accept" being pulled by the lifeweaver

    That healing is going to be wayyyy to low in most scenarios. The number of times I’ve had to tell my teammates to switch to double primary healer is very very high. I just feel like a total lack of burst healing in his kit is going to be a huge handicap and in any situation where the other team has even medium damage he will probably be overwhelmed and a swap will be necessary

      @@nemesispax0383 Nah, it would take people too many milliseconds/seconds to actually 'consent' that they want to be pulled in (and seconds matter a lot in a game like this). They need to make a way to prevent your teammates from falling down a pit (like Mario Odyssey Practice Mode bubble when you fall down that takes you to the nearest estimated ground).

      Overwatch is too fast of a game for people to decide. Supports can see if you’re critical or need help and will pull you out if need be. That’s the point of the role, you gotta trust the supports to do their job even if it means taking you out of position

    On the positive side with good coordination, using the pull on a doomfist or Winston after a dive would be great so they don’t gotta worry about cooldown and they are invulnerable

    I think the best way to do it is like how they have a character in another game, not that I can remember the game, essentially there's a setting in the game where at anytime during a match you can turn or off their ability to move you without your consent, or turn off their ability to move you entirely and its only for that match, so you don't have to turn it off when you go to a new match. Lifeweaver would get told that specific target can't be moved, maybe with some special symbol over the ally.

    So far to me it seems as though Lifeweaver is being introduced as a Mercy alt. To me it looks like he's going to be a really good DPS pocket for picks like Genji, Tracer, really any hero who's priority is poking and making plays. Gonna be interesting to see how pick rates change for support after he's settled in.

    They've created a hero that let's you play as support for the enemy team. Everything Lifeweaver does can be used to troll. Even if they feed they can troll by giving the enemy health when they get killed.

    what about petal platform vs rein/doom when they are charging you to drop off the ledge...can you place it between you and enemy tank, so platform lifts enemy to the air and they just drop off the ledge themselves? or they will just move through it too fast to get lifted in the air...

    Without in game coms and a team that's working together, life grip is going to be a nightmare. Even if the Lifeweaver on your team isn't trolling, they are going to pull you out of position when you're about to ult, mess up your mei walls, etc. People are going to be pissed.

    The pull definitely needs to be changed before it goes live. A simple solution is to have the ability be confirmed by the person your trying to pull. Or maybe have the person your pulling float for few seconds when their pulled, so they can control where they want to land instead of being trolled and instantly falling down a hole and dying

      A prompt would be too slow for it to work. A switch you can turn on and off to select prompt or just have them be able to pull you instantly is the best solution imo

    I expect Lifeweaver to have some new settings later on for the pull interaction. In it a current form it goes against the OW2 philosophy of players staying in control of their game such as the removal of stuns.

    My buddy is a Genji and I'm his support and we're already scheming about him diving the enemy supports and then having me pull him back if he gets low. Could work really well if you have even 1 friend on your team willing to communicate with you.

    The Life Grip would be best if they program it to land near you but on the edge or grounded area and also like Thresh Lantern (LoL) where you need to click to confirm to be pulled.

      Honestly this, make it a bright flower lantern (mechanics of threshes as you say) you put down by a team-mate and a friend can press interact key like syms Tele and choose to use it. Considered reinstalling till I saw this ability, the numbers of reports/bans is going to skyrocket 😂

      Honestly I think it's fine as is. The thing about Thresh is he is in an isometric game, so you can see the lantern behind you and to the sides of you, plus time to kill in League is generally lower than Overwatch so you have more time to react. Lifeweaver pull is a get out of jail free card that doesn't depend on the reaction time of your teammate. Sure, people are gonna troll hardcore with this hero, but people who were going to troll anyways would've already been throwing the game by not doing anything or wandering around. The potency of trolls will increase, but a troll on your team in ranked is basically a guaranteed loss as is, so I don't think the outcome will be different.

    I feel like lifeweaver will become the new mei. It will be so easy to disrupt your own team's ultimates with pretty much every part of his kit. Imagine your dva tries to launch her bomb, but you pull her back as she presses q, now her bomb is just sitting there in your team doing nothing (even worse if it can target the bomb itself like roadhog can) or you plop the tree between the bomb and the enemy team so you shielded them from it. Or maybe hanzo is launching his noodle dragons, but you put a platform underneath him so now they go flying harmlessly over the enemies' heads. Maybe blizzard knew this and that's why they made him, because they want to draw the hate from mei

    The healing should charge automatically. That way if you havent used it in a while your first burst of healing will be maxed out. Healing is all about reaction, if someone takes damage i have to register that it happened then wait for heals to charge then send it out. But in that time my teammate could already be dead because my healing wasnt ready to go. This will take way to long to heal anybody and be virtually useless.

    I think a nice alternative would be to have the pull ability be a passive where if a teammate gets to half health, then they have the option to be pulled by lifeweaver by clicking on him like a Teleport with kiriko. But there should be a cool down. Maybe if there is a lot of your team wanting to get pulled by him, especially when they all click at the same time, it picks the person with the lowest health.

    I feel like they should have instead let Lifeweaver put an "orb" on a teammate that lasts 6 - 10 seconds in which if the teammate needs to be pulled back to the team they should be able to activate it using the same button as you would use for a Symmetra TP etc. It means that he can for example chuck it on a Genji jumping in and if Genji knows he's gone too deep he can get pulled back a certain amount of distance or towards Lifeweaver if he's within range.
    I think doing that would basically be a backup life and would help WAY more. Only problem however would mean that CQC would happen less and you'd be able to play way too passively without being in a fight, especially since they made Lifeweaver basically be a target because he's a moving healthpack for the enemy.
