    It looks nice and shiny, but if Wilderness Lodge wasn't in the title, I'd have guessed it was just a regular, run of the mill hotel room. Decals are to the rooms what projection screens are to the rides now.

    I actually like these rooms a lot! I like the Disney character touches without it being so “in your face” and the subtle wilderness patterns in the furniture and drapery

  • @ellenanton949

    I love wilderness lodge. it's my favorite, but this room is bland. I like the platform beds, and the faux wood floors, but what distinguishes this from any other hotel room?

    I must disagree that Disney does resorts the best now. Being the best includes, price, amenities, and theming. Disney is way overpriced for what they offer in theming and amenities. The resort that hits closest to the mark would be Cabana Bay at Universal. I still love the Disney name, but the brand is failing with most families.

    The beds and the flooring are nice touches and getting rid of carpet is a smart move as it's so much easier to clean and disinfect hard flooring. Better indoor air quality too. However the room is too bland, too much white and looks like any newer, generic hotel room across the country. The previous design was way better and felt like you were in an actual lodge up north, this looks like staying at a Clarion or Wyndham. Disappointing that Disney has gone this route with all of their resorts and the creativity has been replaced by a bland cash grab.

  • @fifthrider
    @fifthrider Před 3 lety +8

    Oh dear. No. Absolutely not. I loved staying in the Wilderness Lodge in 2019 and the rooms were so unique that I actually went home and researched where those drawers and cabinets came from. I bought some and put them in the "Frontierland" themed room in my house, based on how cool the Wilderness Lodge rooms were. I took a ton of pics of the room, there were Chip and Dale references in the room and just... Wow. That original room was great. This is like an art project with the soul sucked out of it. Technically there's a Chip and Dale here, and Bambi, etc. but these are a shadow of what was there before.
    I feel like we live in times where (whoever's in charge) evaluate how happy people are, and then work hard to sabotage it. "What?! They like those rooms?! NO! Change them around to look more trendy, less like a Disney experience!" Can't they save design ideas like this for Destino or Riviera?

    Thanks for the tour! This is the one I was looking forward to the most because I've actually stayed here before. I have to say, I'm disappointed. Maybe it's the lack of bedding (or the heavy wood bunk beds), but all the rooms are sort of starting to look the same. Maybe a touch of brown here, or blue there, but overall, I miss the old rooms here.

    So, have all the rooms in the Wilderness Lodge been remodeled like that or just some of them?
    I know that the people who runs the Walt Disney World Resort nowadays are trying to keep up with the times after the beginning of the decade of the 2020s, but I liked the previous design of the rooms better.
    The remodeled design just doesn't have that wilderness feel to it.
    Plus, why did the have the shower curtains replaced by glass sliding doors and have the floor carpet removed?
    It's as if every hotel franchise in the country is having the carpet in the rooms removed ever since the Covid-19 pandemic had occurred.

    Well heres a other resort I'll never see the inside of . Its not for us regular fans Disney is turning into a cash cow. From where I stand ...with more rumors circling around I'm not liking what I'm hearing or seeing by the way
    I do like this decor its beautiful and updated to todays style . But for us "regular folks " who cannot spend as much to stay in one of these resorts are not thrilled. It all comes down to money. Very sad for disney and people who have been going to Disneyworld for years will soon be pushed aside . Just sad. Its only for the RICH. 😢
    I enjoy your videas very much. Keep up the great work. Thank you.

      Very true. It’s getting to the point the AllStar resorts are costing just as much the next tier up. Heck even the campsites for travel trailers have gotten ridiculous!! Nothing is value priced for us anymore. Tickets keep going up and you get less time at the parks and less perks now you even have to pay for parking at the resort?!?? I’m not going to start spending over $6,000 for just 1 vocation. I love going to Disney World but they getting a little bit ridiculous on these prices!!

    This is REALLY disappointing to me. This resort is one of my favs and I grew up coming here every spring break. The charm the rooms had was literally unmatched. I think Disney NAILED IT with the Moana rooms but this is just wack. Disney has the most creative minds in the world and yet this is the stuff they pump out???? I get what they are doing with the modern feel but I am hoping they don’t screw up any other rooms like they did with this.

    The remods are all beautiful but the sterility and blandness is not my fave. I loved going into a room and seeing the details like the tile work and themed walls. This bland and plain non-Disney immersed look is not good enough for Disneys standards. I feel like they are removing all of Walt and its sad.

    Love the removal of carpet, I cant stand carpet, and the plain sheets are perfect, I know they can be bleached and makes me feel cleaner. I like the fact that they put a Kuerig - but I would prefer the Nespresso but I respect that most people may not like Nespresso. I do wish there was more wall art even though they use the cheap and tacky accent wall. I do like the signs but wish there were more in that vein. Love the Chip and Dale! It would have been great if they used a texture wall paper (it would have helped bring the outside in!). Thanks for taking the time to showcase this! Keep up the great work!

  • @vincentparisi2644
    @vincentparisi2644 Před 3 lety +1

    Bland. Missing the Disney magic. It's what a moderate room should look like. Plain. There was a richness to the designs and fabric of old. The IP touches are just enough fortunately unlike the Poly where you won't be able to get away from Moana making it really seem like an expensive value resort. But we have yet to really see. Early views are not promising.

    Overall the improvements are good but those decals are hideous. Also the tiny device shelf missing USB ports is a big flaw in their design. I appreciate that Disney doesn’t overwhelm you with over the top theming like some of the local Air B&Bs but this is too boring. I’d like a little more character in the room designs or separate rooms that offer more theming for families.
