  • On a recent trip to the Philadelphia area, we had the opportunity to visit Longwood Gardens. Longwood is, arguably, the finest horticultural institution in North America. Pierre S. du Pont, purchased the core of Longwood in 1906, expanding the home, and conserving the Peirce family arboretum that compelled him to buy the land. The garden is known for the elaborate fountain shows that entertain guests in spring, summer, and fall. But the crown jewel of Longwood is the Conservatory, covering more than 4 acres of exquisite gardens. Forests, meadows, and lakes also span the grounds, with miles of trails and boardwalks to enjoy. Experience fine dining at 1906, Longwood's upscale restaurant. Or grab a hearty dinner at the cafe and a brew at the beer garden. Longwood already offers more than a day's worth of finely manicured grounds to explore. But in November 2024, Longwood Reimagined debuts with an immense new greenhouse expansion to the conservatory. I highly recommend adding Longwood to your list of places to visit! For more information, or to plan your visit, go to longwoodgardens.org. Please Like & Subscribe for more content!
