Ace of Base was a Swedish pop group, originally consisting of Ulf Ekberg and three siblings: Jonas Berggren, Linn Berggren and Jenny Berggren. The group released four studio albums between 1992 and 2002, which sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, making it the third-most successful Swedish band of all time, after ABBA and Roxette.

I loved them too but it seemed to heavily conflict with my love of grunge and hip hop… at least with my friends. But as the years went on, I went harder and harder into house music.

1994. My classmate gave me a green cassette. I read: "Ace of Base". I don't know why, but i instantly thought, that it's gonna be smth special. And I was goddamn right).

me too. Except the male equal of that. The Sign was like my 4th tape after Kriss Kross, Ninja Turtles and WWF The Album.

Two of the best singers ever. With their unique style, tones, variety and charisma.
I gotta be honest...if we ever need an example to show what it means to have 'alluring eyes', all you need to do have a picture of Linn. I loved this band back in the day, had many great songs. Unfortunately, Linn choosing to step back was a very tough hurdle to overcome, even though Jenny was also great, and they had many great songs after the fact. It was just never the same without her.
Back in the day I thought Ace of Base was a fad, and maybe it was. Hear me out ... Now, 30 year later, I feel that Ace of Base has carved its own space in music history and no one can take it away. Their beats are timeless.

So much great, iconic music was written and published back then, as was bullshit, generic, silly music during that time. Just like in any other decade, the ratio of good to bad music has always been the same.
