Men are just dense sometimes, and even if we LITERALLY tell them exactly what we need from them “Tell me I’m pretty!” they just have such weird hangups about saying words. My husband says that his love language is doing nice things for me, which he does. But I’ve told him that my love language is hearing the actual words all the time. And I need it. Sorry, but man up and just do it!

Exactly!! They say you lose 50-100 strands a day so that hair ball years and years worth! I even notice if I go about a week without washing my hair looks like so much is coming out in the shower but if I washed it every day it wouldn’t be half as much

I felt his concerns were more about how she’d feel if things didn’t go as planned. I won’t settle for anything less than what I want and deserve but I also have realistic expectations. We all have our shit and some men aren’t great communicators. 🤷🏼♀️
Aw Christina, as a woman of color I feel like I understand how emotionally attached we get to our hair. Sometimes it’s something we hide behind and it’s one of the only things that can make us feel beautiful so to share this with us and your family is a vulnerable thing. Well we are being wrongfully evicted (me and my fiance worked all thru the Pandemic to keep our bills paid, we rent a house and they sold it) We don't have the money to fight it. So we are scrambling to get a place before the end of the month. It's been very stressful.
Early this year you inspired me to get a new job so we could afford a home. I wanted to get out of the cycle of renting. But no matter what I do, something gets in my way....

It really is true. My husband and I went to the same middle school and high school and have been together since high school and became teen parents. Girl, let me tell you, we had one car and couldn't afford daycare so I was a stay at home mom to prevent daycare costs and the cost of another vehicle. Plus my husband had much more work experience than I did and he would make more than I would. It was a DEVASTATINGLY, HEARTACHINGLY, BROKE, PENNY TO PENNY 9 WHOLE YEARS BEFORE WE *FINALLY* GOT BLESSED AND MY HUSBAND GOT A MANAGERIAL POSITION AT A WORLDWIDE COMPANY. I'm so thankful to god every day that we have more than $5 in our checking account. My husband is the hardest working man I know. For those 9 years, he worked TWO FULL TIME JOBS. 1 was graveyard shift and the other was an early morning shift. This poor man lived on 4 hours of sleep for 6 days a week, for 9 years. He worked 16 hour days. With the drive to and from work was 2 hours. Showering. Eating. Having a moment with his kids and his wife, only left this poor man 4 hours of sleep a night. He looked sick because he was so worn out. We prayed so hard about it and miraculously, some how he met someone through a friend who changed his life. He is a manager and primarily works from home and by the good grace of God, has been making 90,000 to 110,000 dollars per year, the last 4 years. He was recently promoted and was given the opportunity to take over the business in 3 years. The owner for this particular branch of the worldwide company he works at makes $4 million dollars a year. We have teenage children and although we were able to rent a home, we recently decided to cut back as much as we could and we moved into a smaller apartment. So that way we can grind and save and pay off all our debts and, raise our credit score, we are thankfully at a 720 now and keep stacking that money to buy our FIRST home by the beginning of next year. It's hard. My husband and I have cried on hands and knees to god and cried the tears of a 100 men and women combined. We also both come from very toxic, abusive and broken families so we've never has any help and have had to deal my our families kicking us when we were down. God always has a bigger plan for all of us. Remember, the tougher the battle, the sweeter the reward. There are good days and bad days, just remember that after the storm, always comes a rainbow 🌈 😊 you are not alone ❤️ keep your faith strong, work hard, be a good person, and give back- even if it's only a dollar, and never expect ANYTHING in return. And I promos you one day, god will bless you immensely. Keep fighting the good fight and I pray that thing's will get better for you. Never lose hope. Sending you and yours so much love and light. His reaction reminds me so much of my husband. It’s obvious that he doesn’t like abrupt change. What a sweetheart, he looks at her with so much love.
Some men love it, others don't. One of my exes used to always laugh every time I made a drastic change, either by cutting my hair or dying it. My current boyfriend loves it whenever I try new makeup looks, a new style of clothing or do something wild with my hair.
If you’ve seen her ‘why I have dreadlocks’ video you’ll see it was a pretty deep decision for her to lock her hair. She had them for a long time…Long before she was famous, it was part of her journey from who she was to who she became and that may have been why he seemed sad to see the change. That’s another thing. He didn’t seem mad to me he seemed hurt or upset. 🥺

@@jofosho2 I feel the same. My grandmother was my best friend. She passed away unexpectedly with zero warning three years ago and I still cry nearly everyday, even now typing these words. It feels like there is a part of my heart permanently gone until I get to reunite with her again someday. I’d give anything to have just five more minutes with her, to tell her one last time how much I love and miss her. I’ll forever be searching for that closure, but knowing it will never come while I’m alive is gut wrenching. To anyone with their grandmother still alive, PLEASE call her right now and tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you. Soak up and treasure EVERY moment with her. I thought at the very least I had a decade left with mine as she was completely healthy, but you truly never know what tomorrow will bring. 💕

We know why you took them out. Sometimes us women gotta do things that our families don't fully understand. My friend chose to have both of her breasts removed so she could live without pain and cyst troubles. Her husband didn't like it but she did it for herself.
Having had painful PMS with cyclical mastalgia, I totally understand. Oddly it's gotten much less painful the last two months and I don't know what I changed.

I just found more cysts yesterday.
I don't know if I'd be brave enough. But my boobs always hurt. They aren't even like, shaped right anymore (u know, gravity, cysts, etc). I'm over it.
But things like that cost money and I don't have that.

I understand being a bit bummed out about some reactions, when I came home with copper hair after having them brown for years, my boyfriend literally just said "It looks interesting", so he didn't like it as much. Now he loves it, though! It's a big change and it can make you feel insecure, but we're here to tell you, you look the most beautiful when you're happy, and I can see you needed this change. ❤
I had promised myself back in 2005 if I lost 50 lbs I'd get hair extensions. I was married at the time and when my husband got home from work he freaked out. He said it was like he went to work and some other woman moved in. He never did get used to them and I ended up taking them out but my confidence dropped along with taking them out. Obviously we are divorced now and I've never remarried. I think I'm just someone that prefers making my own decisions and I refuse to answer to anyone. My kids just go along with whatever I do, so it works for me. I understand that if you have a partner you should want to please them but I think I'm just such a free spirit that it's hard for me. I also don't tell others what to do either. If they're happy I'm happy for them.
