You have to buy from sellers with 10k+ sales on TCG player; they’re scared to send cards completely trashed because they wanna keep a good rating. Even “damaged” from those sellers are typically pretty solid

Good binder pieces for the most part. I got my base set charizard for about $120 - it's pretty banged up, but it's nice to see in the binder.
agreed- unless you want to grade a card, if it's an expensive one i'm totally fine buying ones thats creased or scratched if it bumps hundreds of dollars off of the price. i've bought some really nice MP vintage cards off of tcgplayer that look very nice in my binder.
Back in grad school I picked up a base set ‘zard for 20 bucks (circa 2013). Got it graded and it’s a psa 5. I think it gives it charm!
Agreed. Plus if the damage is mostly on the back of the card, you won't even tell the difference. That's one way to get some rare-ish cards in your collection without breaking the bank lol
I agree. If i want a card for my collection I don't care if it's slightly damaged. I don' have the money to get anything graded. I have a lot of the base set with a few damaged but I'm happy I have them.

I'm pretty much looking forward to you grading those cards. Mainly because I have the Neo Genesis Lugia (First Edition) in my collection, but because I've had it since I was about 7/8 years old, it's not in great shape anymore 🙁 but it's still way better looking than the one you received😅
My fiance and I were going through her old cards and found a gold star mew in pretty great condition. The fact that it was still $200+ with that kind of damage is wild
I’ve been wondering what it would look like buying damaged cards from tcgplayer. I don’t wanna get a massive fold in the card and pay double digits for it.

I have that Umbreon and it came back as an 8. Was really hoping for a 9 😢
If you think it has potential for a 9 you can try resending it in or using another grading company 😄

In the realm of looks 1’s are as rare as 10’s.
Any card can become a 1, not every card can be a 10. 1 collectors are weird asf

I’m pretty sure I used to own that shining gyarados. I bought a bunch of them as well as Magikarps in damage condition for $20 back in 2017.

These cards are actually great for people who wanna put the cards in binders, for example, to complete a vintage set
Even though most of these cards were in really bad condition, it's still great to have such beautiful cards in your collection. Only the torn back of the card hurt me a lot.

This video is the exact definition of OG Rev. I can tell you’re just hanging out with us viewers (authentic), putting yourself in our shoes (relatable), and having a fun time doing what you’re doing (enjoyable to watch).

I can understand the pain of having beat up cards but i feel like that’s what makes a card vintage and worth its value even if it’s not worth anything price wise. It just feels legit and it’s hard to keep super old cards in good condition anyway

I have bought a couple older cards in rougher shape just to be able to have them in my personal collection
I’m super curious to learn how these damaged cards come back graded. It might give me hope for some cards of my childhood collection which are in less than stellar conditions.
I’ve thought about buying some of the damaged cards off of TCG because they are some of my favorites, but this really makes me reconsider.
I personally collect ding and dent for that reason, I know the value is low but having the card is so nice.
Me in my childhood I used to my thumb above the cards, and whereever I did that there would be a crease lmfao.....

is it worth it to send my original 99 ,sets to be graded there only commons ,but most of them in good condition ,i think there set 3 and 4 ?

I just dont understand why condition is SO important for pricing a card. I mean a swing from from $23 to $2300 just based on condition. There is something wrong about that. I love the character and toning of vintage coins. Heavily played cards have been well loved. 🤷♀️
I’ve never seen that blastoise card before. That secret rare art is amazing. But honestly I wouldn’t have paid near this much for any of these cards.

Theyre relics at this point and i think it’s a great idea to buy these and give them a new lease of life. It’s nostalgic and takes me back so far, really good to see the old bangers! Cant wait for the drop on how they graded.

That's ok. The umbreon is nothing compared to my charizard lv x promo. The back looks like the umbreon except it's everywhere on the back.

I took a shot at a base set venasaur on auction. Tagged as damaged but couldn't tell on stream. Got it for 14$ so we shall see.
