    finally real instruments. you have no idea how hard it is to find people sitting down and actually composing without immediately grabbing a loop. people rarely even chop samples anymore 😢. this is the exact workflow i do on my digitakt !

      Thank you! I’m surprised there aren’t tons of people making videos similar. This was my immediate thought, about how to use the MPC. Love to see your Digitakt workflow. I’m so curious about that instrument. Planning on making a video resampling my own guitar lines soon.

      Oohhhhh snap, lol... when I first read this comment as the video started, he didn't have the bass picked up yet, and I was gonna sarcastically say "so, an MPC and/or MIDI controller is a real instrument these days, eh?" Then he picks up the bass, lol... classic! Anyway, indeed, I have to remind myself to try to incorporate guitar or at least some live keyboard playing soon again.

      Thank you! I thought so many people would’ve been using the MPC this way. I haven’t watched much of the content, outside the basic tutorials. But from the comments it must be all sampling. Which means a lot of this machine’s capabilities are being slept on.
      I plan on getting better acquainted with the workflow and exploring all it has to offer. I appreciate the kind words 🙏🏾

    What keyboard is that bro? And how do you configure it to work with the MPC, is it a midi, and is the MPC standalone, do I need to use it for my Mac? I'm a DJ bro and I'm just starting to get into producing, how do you think I should go about this?

    • @dreadwardbernays
      @dreadwardbernays  Před rokem

      So the keyboard is called the Arturia keylab essential 49. There’s a newer version of it now that came out recently. You hook it up directly to the MPC, and control with MIDI over USB. I USE MY MPC IN STANDALONE BECAUSE I DON’T LIKE THEIR SOFTWARE MUCH AND I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO USE LOGIC PRO X. But you do have the ability to control the MPC software. Which is included with any of the MPC’s.
      Everything I’ve heard about using this unit as a DJ has recommended that you should invest in a dedicated DJ controller instead of an MPC. But I’ve only ever Dj’d using vinyl, so I don’t have much experience in this realm. I hope this all helps and wish you luck on your journey. DON’T WORRY IT’LL ALL GET EASIER WITH TIME.
