Not to mention gets a cameo in the movie anda guest appearance in the show. Red exists in every Pokémon universe exept the Anime as a great trainer, he never gets an appearance.

Most if not all digimon antagonist were world threatening. Giovanni was defeated by 1 child and his team of pokemon and non of his Pokémon packed as much power as a single mega digimon. I know different universe and all that but comparing Giovanni to any final bad of any digimon game/series isn't fair... for him. He isn't even worst than other bad guys in his own franchise.

I have always known about Ryo, I questioned Kens story enough, and then Our War Game happened and I was like, well, then Tamers happened, so then I played Anode tamer, but I couldnt play the rest. But I read wikia to know the rest. This is why from the bottom of my heart, Ryo should have been a main Hero in Hunters.

Well, I never knew anything about this. I just know Ryo from Tamers. The more you know. Seeing Ryos story in his full form as OVA would be great, explaining why in XrosWars it was possible to travel from one world to the other and why there are multiple words to start with. ^^

Ryo is such an awesome person but I didn't expect him to be the person who was with ken and that Monodramon had to merge with malenimon in order to become cyberDramon. at last.. i really appreciate that you're making this video.. some people just know "Tamers Ryo" & he's an "Extra" or some ass who butt in the Tamer series in the middle.. I dig in the whole background story long time ago, from the WonderSwan game, the Manga.. some people just being pissed off when I mention that, Ryo's is a true main character besides Taichi *whichever version he is*.. when I explain everything, the timeline, his background, his story, no one would hear me out.. no one.. when I pointed out in the Adventure Series & Movie which he had a cameo in it... everyone was like.."okay, but that doesnt make him a true core of the whole Digimon timeline/story background".. hmm i guess its hard to explain to anyone who are not willing to dig deeper for information or even play the game or even read the manga to know the truth.. well, just saying that it feels good to know there's someone out there (you) making this video & being on the same page as me (at least you explain almost everything in the video like 95%) good job ^_^v

ID10T Yeah, no. Even some people who played the Wonderswan Games said that Ryo’s appearance was shoehorned in. Plus Tamers Ryo doesn’t match Wonderswan Ryo. From what I’ve heard, Game Ryo is literally psychologically broken, rarely talks, and very distrustful. Tamers Ryo is just your typical shonen. Game Ryo is 12 by the end of Brave Tamer, while Tamers Ryo is 14. How does that work. Also, there is no way you can recover from that trauma. No way. That is just insulting. So yeah, Tamers is better off without Ryo.
@@justinesun7270 you can say that but, he's there so, can't say much. It's an anime so, typical shonen, different background, just to fit him in, no surprise for me on that part though. Not saying what you 'heard' or your 'opinion' is wrong but, I accepted the differences early on. There's always a loophole whenever this kind of situation happen. If Tamers never show Ryo, no one ever know (mostly internationally) about him, at all. Try to take Ryo out from Tamers, and see what happen. Maybe nothing much, but there's always a question went unanswered. The main thing is, people start noticing Ryo during Tamers and I'm all good with that.

ThatJayBloke Numemon is usually because of care mistakes in I believe (it's been a while) evolution. You get a numemon if your digimon hasn't got the stats needed to digivolve, here's some guideless to get at least 1 normal evolution to champion; through training: Hp + MP: 1000 - 2000, all other stats: 100 - 200. Brains around 200. This will guarentee any good champion. As long as you feed him when hungry and don't let him poop anywhere and only dscipline him when he makes mistakes (like not eating an item or pooping on the floor) you won't get sukamon or nanimon neither. If you want a good ultimate try these stats: HP+ MP: 3000 - 4000, all other stats around 400. Brains: 300 - 400. Or if you're lazy you can carefully navigate through the misty forest to cherrymon (to turn off the mist) and go into toy town with numemon. Go into a house and wear the teddy suit. Your numemon will digivolve into the ultimate monzaemon/teddymon; only numemon can digivolve into him ^^ If you get nanimon you'll be able to become the most powerful ultimate: digitamamon but it's hard. If you get a sukamon he can't evolve but kingsukamon can de-digivolve you. Hope all this helps ^^

I really liked him in tamers. His concept is very unique to the show in which he has seen it all and knows it all. I think he would be a even better villian is someone could come up with a scenario.

Ken was the same age as T.K. & Hikari who were the two youngest digidestined during Adventure 01 and when Gennai mentioned the original digidestined it sounded like these original digidestined had come to digital world quite a while ago so Ken being one of them is unlikely. And from what was shown of Ken's first time in digital world he was about the same age as T.K. & Hikari were during Adventure 01 so more than likely Ken went to the digital world for the first time at the same time with all the kids from season 1, not before them. On top of that I've seen this theory floating around that the father of Yamato/Matt & T.K. was one of these original digidestined. Perhaps along with parents of some of the other digidestined from season 1. So if that theory is true then Ken definitely wasn't part of that group.

Narrative wise, I think that's not confirmed since, there's no indication that Ryo and Ken traveled back in time in both the games AND the series but the possibility is there.
***** Yeah but he had a digimon partner who was supposed to be "the strongest digimon evarzh!" and in Tamers he had more knowledge about Digimon than any other kid and he was supposedly a legendary tamer even stronger than the resident badass RIka/Ruki and she was head over heels in love with him though she couldn't admit it. And we were never shown why he was so good in the show, others just talked about it. To me Ryo came off as at least a bit of a Gary Stu in Tamers. Some of the people involved in the creation of Digimon shows wanted to make Ryo really strong and cool because he was popular with some fans being that in the games he was the avatar of the game players. So basically he was a fan insert character fans could project themselves into. That sounds a bit Gary Stu-ish too.

it was kinda hard to me to play all ryu games thank you so much for the video and i hope digimon will make sequel to this story and ryu gennai will come back again and end digimon with asdfghjkl sequel and ending ~ we need amazing sequel because this amazing history shouldn't be forgotten at all !! i really have too much to say because ryu story is the most serious story in all digimon and it's not just for fun it's has an deep wonderful story it's not just about battling viruses and save the world and this is the most thing i like about ryu games sorry for my bad english :)

Agreed; there's just so much backstory and content that they could cover. I mean, he fought/(potentially) has one of the most powerful Digimon to date. I think the problem is that there could a lot of issues in trying to explain a lot of the content and make it believable (although this hasn't stopped them before), especially about how and why he crossed dimensions. Also, I guess it wouldn't match the show series "style" of "friendship" and multiple "Tamers", or whatever. Still, it could be a good series especially considering that Ryo is popular in Japan.
I just started re-watching Tamers again, and now that I see it again, I didn't care much for him in the show, even back then. He just felt forced in, and was just too perfect it felt like. Course then it turns out he was forced into the show, that explains it.

what I'm guess the Tamers Ryo died in the Digital World (it is more dangerous) and Ryo from the Adventure Series takes his place until the next adventure where Ryo will have to go back to the digital world after the end of Tamers because Monodramon is unsupervised (even though the biomerge did seem to fix things)
OnePieceNation Not really. Milleniummon just gets further suppressed. Cyberdramon still has that vicious voice when speaking inside Justimon. Though I've heard only in the Japanese version of Tamers does each Matrix (What they call Biomerge in Japan I think...) have it's own voice actor. We really need an anime starring Ryo. I don't even mind if it's just a retelling of the Wonderswan games!

Only way to stop him, is to seal him inside a Digimon. I think it's because of Milleniumon inside Monodramon why he can Evolve him, as Ryo couldn't Digivolve any Digimon even with a Digivice. That part of Milleniumon inside Monodramon is why Ryo can Evolve him to the vicious beast that is Cyberdramon.

As someone trying to make a video making sense of the timeline, the fact that Milleniummon AND Diaboromon were both 'created' through the same Y2K bug is just kind-of insane, especially when you realize it's literally not even a virus, just a glitch in date keeping.

Don't forget that in Digimon their are multiple Digimon that can turn into other digimon for example Agumon can digivolve into Greymon, Centarumon, or Meramon. So you could have multiple Machinedramons. Machinedramon can digivolve from SkullGreymon, and Megadramon.

Have you guys thought about it? A human defeating a digimon without a digimon partner. Wait, what kind of weapons he was equipped with? Wait wait wait...... So Ken created Kimeramon. Kimeramon fused with Machinedramon and became Millenniummon. But Ken hadn't even created Kimeramon at that time they fought Millenniummon. So how did they fight Kimeramon? Did Ken create Kimeramon out of his deepest memories? Or did time distort or something?
Millenniummon's story is no time paradox. Ken DID NOT create Kimeramon he merely RECREATED it. Kimeramon had already existed in the past. It was an earlier Kimeramon that fused with Machinedramon.
But I thought the chimeramon in 02 was a man made original digimon made by ken in 02, but this proves that there already was a chimeramon existing then? And ken even helped take down a fusion of chimeramon
It’s a paradox loop, the dark spores came from millenionmon. He attempted to infect Ryo but Ken intervened. Ken creates chimeramon and millenionmon will fuse with him to start the time loop all over.
It actually isn't Tai's Agumon or Davis's Veemon in the video game Ryo partners with and the reason he chooses the Tamers world is because he was actually originally from that world and he was an orphan in the adventures world, but good video!

I seem to remember Takato recognizing Ryo when they meet in the Tamers digital world. It was something about a card tournament. How is that possible if he has never been to the Tamers real world? Or am i mis-remembering?

AODigimon for what i know Rika played against him at the card tournament and lost, (she later won the next year because Ryo was already in the digital world). my theory is somehow Adventure Ryo mind merge to Tamers Ryo to keep being Monodramon partner (who have this split personalty like thing because Millenniummon)
There are strong hints at Eniac giving Ryo a fake cover in this world, as he has parents, he is a well known card game finalist, and is well known among the tamers beforehand.
What I don't get though is why the people from the Tamer world know him. He is known there as the Digimon King, Ruki remembers how she fought with him and his father actually comes to pick him up when everyone got back.
When he arrived in the tamers world, he just took the place of the him in that world. U can't meet yourself in another universe without accidentally fucking shit up, the universe would trip and kill 1 of u or split the future. same with time travel, u can't travel into the past/future without creating a rift in the space-time continuum... for science reasons and shit...

Sofia Neubert the tamer world is sapost to be our world (aka a different dimension) after the events of adventures (1 and 2). when ryo got sucked through the portal with seed-millenniumon, he accidentally created a digital world in every other dimension. The him of the digital world didn't go anywhere, he just took up its place, literally. if u think of the universe as a computer, it just took the original ryo and "replaced" that dimension's. the only real difference between the 2 would have been how they acted. Ryo remembers the tournaments and stuff because he arrived in the tamers universe around mid/late summer 2000 and the tournaments took place shortly after he arrived. He participated in them because the tamers him was already scheduled to be in them, but not to win. He won the tournaments because he had extensive real life experience with digimon. The only reason why he doesn't remember everything is because every time he travels through a dimension, it fucks with his brain and he can only remember parts (like how u have to cross dimensions and that he has to keep cyberdramon in check). It doesn't effect millenniumon because he is made of data. tai and co r just normal people living normal lifes with out digimon, they have little to no impact in the tamers dimension, or died off in the accident that ryo was chat-rooming about b4 agumon came to get him.
5poof5 I was thinking about this too,but I don't think this is the case at all, at least the part with just taking over his other self's place (at least not the way you meant) If this was the case his other self would just jump back to action the second he leaves the Tamers world, that is not the case at all though. What I always wondered was why he would choose the Tamers world to stay in, why didn't he search for a way to go back to his original world, where his original father is waiting? Well what if he doesn't want to leave his father in the Tamer world alone? ..What if the Tamer Ryo actually is dead? I know that is a fare fetch, but when you think about it, it is not that unthinkable. Just think about his interaction with his Tamer father.... It seems awkward and not at all like a son and a father would behave around each other. Also the fact that he still travels worlds but still comes back to the Tamers world seems strange, especially since his other self should take over then (which how it was multiply stated he does not). It could be that after meeting his Tamer father who was so relived that his missing son was okay, Ryo could not bring it over himself to tell him that he is actually not his son but a different version of him from a different world. It was also implied that Ryo's dad is a single parent, so for him to loss his son would be even worse. Ryo not wanting to let this man alone gets tangled up in a web of lies, the father from his world had still a chance to see him again, the father from the Tamers world wouldn't see his son ever again. So he decides to take this Ryo's place and just hopes the Tamer father doesn't find out. (Lol might write a fanfic about this shit)

There's something I don't understand. It is shown that Millenniumon was defeated by Ryo and Ken when he was a child, but how can Millenniumon exist when Ken hasn't created Kimeramon yet. Though Machinedramon may possess dead digimon, was there another Kimeramon before the one the digimon emperor created?
The y2k bug caused a random over clock (a boost to a computer's power) that fast forwarded time in the digital world and brought other digimon from the past, and machinedramon was one of them. The chimeramon was still built by ken (the digimon emperor), it just caused a separate timeline when it fused with machinedramon b4 they could kill it. Everything was set to normal when they "killed" milleniumon. The unfortunate thing was that milleniumon had left to a separate time and space when they reset things to its normal timeline. They also destroyed the y2k bug b4 it could effect the earths technology... I'm am just speculating on this, but it make the most sense from what I could tell...

One possibility is that ENIAC sent his parents from the Adventure world to the Tamers world, which it would have had no difficulty doing due to its powers, another possibility is that his parents in the Tamers world were adoptive and yet another possibility is that his parents in the Adventure world had counterparts in the Tamers world and Ryo was sent to them, if so it's unknown what happened to the Ryo Akiyama originary from Tamers world.
To get the complete story, you need several of them hehe. Do a search for it, i cannot remember all of them at this point. But through 4 games (i think)
these all take place very close to their release dates strangely enough. All released for the Wonderswan, no American release, english translation of anode/cathode is available but only scripts and playthroughs are available at syldra.net for the rest

Game Ryo is 12 by the end of Brave Tamer, while Tamers Ryo is 14. How does that work. Also, there is no way you can recover from that trauma. No way. That is just insulting.

If Tamers never show Ryo, no one ever know (mostly internationally) about him, at all. Try to take Ryo out from Tamers, and see what happen. Numemon is usually because of care mistakes in I believe (it's been a while) evolution.
You get a numemon if your digimon hasn't got the stats needed to digivolve, here's some guideless to get at least 1 normal evolution to champion; through training:
Hp + MP: 1000 - 2000, all other stats: 100 - 200. Brains around 200.
This will guarentee any good champion.
As long as you feed him when hungry and don't let him poop anywhere and only dscipline him when he makes mistakes (like not eating an item or pooping on the floor) you won't get sukamon or nanimon neither.
If you want a good ultimate try these stats:
HP+ MP: 3000 - 4000, all other stats around 400. Brains: 300 - 400.
Or if you're lazy you can carefully navigate through the misty forest to cherrymon (to turn off the mist) and go into toy town with numemon. Go into a house and wear the teddy suit.
Your numemon will digivolve into the ultimate monzaemon/teddymon; only numemon can digivolve into him ^^
If you get nanimon you'll be able to become the most powerful ultimate: digitamamon but it's hard.
If you get a sukamon he can't evolve but kingsukamon can de-digivolve you.

Ken was the same age as T.K. & Hikari who were the two youngest digidestined during Adventure 01 and when Gennai mentioned the original digidestined it sounded like these original digidestined had come to digital world quite a while ago so Ken being one of them is unlikely. And from what was shown of Ken's first time in digital world he was about the same age as T.K. & Hikari were during Adventure 01 so more than likely Ken went to the digital world for the first time at the same time with all the kids from season 1, not before them.
On top of that I've seen this theory floating around that the father of Yamato/Matt & T.K. was one of these original digidestined. Perhaps along with parents of some of the other digidestined from season 1. So if that theory is true then Ken definitely wasn't part of that group.

its also been confirmed that he has traveled dimensions in the wonderswan games. Narrative wise, I think that's not confirmed since, there's no indication that Ryo and Ken traveled back in time in both the games AND the series but the possibility is there.
***** Yeah but he had a digimon partner who was supposed to be "the strongest digimon evarzh!" and in Tamers he had more knowledge about Digimon than any other kid and he was supposedly a legendary tamer even stronger than the resident badass RIka/Ruki and she was head over heels in love with him though she couldn't admit it. And we were never shown why he was so good in the show, others just talked about it. To me Ryo came off as at least a bit of a Gary Stu in Tamers.
Some of the people involved in the creation of Digimon shows wanted to make Ryo really strong and cool because he was popular with some fans being that in the games he was the avatar of the game players. So basically he was a fan insert character fans could project themselves into. That sounds a bit Gary Stu-ish too.

Agreed; there's just so much backstory and content that they could cover. I mean, he fought/(potentially) has one of the most powerful Digimon to date.
I think the problem is that there could a lot of issues in trying to explain a lot of the content and make it believable (although this hasn't stopped them before), especially about how and why he crossed dimensions. Also, I guess it wouldn't match the show series "style" of "friendship" and multiple "Tamers", or whatever. Still, it could be a good series especially considering that Ryo is popular in Japan.

what I'm guess the Tamers Ryo died in the Digital World (it is more dangerous) and Ryo from the Adventure Series takes his place until the next adventure where Ryo will have to go back to the digital world after the end of Tamers because Monodramon is unsupervised (even though the biomerge did seem to fix things)

OnePieceNation Not really. Milleniummon just gets further suppressed. Cyberdramon still has that vicious voice when speaking inside Justimon. Though I've heard only in the Japanese version of Tamers does each Matrix (What they call Biomerge in Japan I think...) have it's own voice actor. We really need an anime starring Ryo. I don't even mind if it's just a retelling of the Wonderswan games!

Only way to stop him, is to seal him inside a Digimon. I think it's because of Milleniumon inside Monodramon why he can Evolve him, as Ryo couldn't Digivolve any Digimon even with a Digivice. That part of Milleniumon inside Monodramon is why Ryo can Evolve him to the vicious beast that is Cyberdramon.

AODigimon Anode is awesome, you can get Veedramon as a partner for the first boss reward, and it is totally worth it.
Don't forget that in Digimon their are multiple Digimon that can turn into other digimon for example Agumon can digivolve into Greymon, Centarumon, or Meramon. So you could have multiple Machinedramons. Machinedramon can digivolve from SkullGreymon, and Megadramon.

Millenniummon's story is no time paradox. Ken DID NOT create Kimeramon he merely RECREATED it. Kimeramon had already existed in the past. It was an earlier Kimeramon that fused with Machinedramon.

It’s a paradox loop, the dark spores came from millenionmon. He attempted to infect Ryo but Ken intervened. Ken creates chimeramon and millenionmon will fuse with him to start the time loop all over.
It actually isn't Tai's Agumon or Davis's Veemon in the video game Ryo partners with and the reason he chooses the Tamers world is because he was actually originally from that world and he was an orphan in the adventures world, but good video!

Sofia Neubert the tamer world is sapost to be our world (aka a different dimension) after the events of adventures (1 and 2). when ryo got sucked through the portal with seed-millenniumon, he accidentally created a digital world in every other dimension. The him of the digital world didn't go anywhere, he just took up its place, literally. if u think of the universe as a computer, it just took the original ryo and "replaced" that dimension's. the only real difference between the 2 would have been how they acted. Ryo remembers the tournaments and stuff because he arrived in the tamers universe around mid/late summer 2000 and the tournaments took place shortly after he arrived. He participated in them because the tamers him was already scheduled to be in them, but not to win. He won the tournaments because he had extensive real life experience with digimon. The only reason why he doesn't remember everything is because every time he travels through a dimension, it fucks with his brain and he can only remember parts (like how u have to cross dimensions and that he has to keep cyberdramon in check). It doesn't effect millenniumon because he is made of data. tai and co r just normal people living normal lifes with out digimon, they have little to no impact in the tamers dimension, or died off in the accident that ryo was chat-rooming about b4 agumon came to get him.

5poof5 I was thinking about this too,but I don't think this is the case at all, at least the part with just taking over his other self's place (at least not the way you meant) If this was the case his other self would just jump back to action the second he leaves the Tamers world, that is not the case at all though. What I always wondered was why he would choose the Tamers world to stay in, why didn't he search for a way to go back to his original world, where his original father is waiting? Well what if he doesn't want to leave his father in the Tamer world alone? ..What if the Tamer Ryo actually is dead? I know that is a fare fetch, but when you think about it, it is not that unthinkable. Just think about his interaction with his Tamer father.... It seems awkward and not at all like a son and a father would behave around each other. Also the fact that he still travels worlds but still comes back to the Tamers world seems strange, especially since his other self should take over then (which how it was multiply stated he does not). It could be that after meeting his Tamer father who was so relived that his missing son was okay, Ryo could not bring it over himself to tell him that he is actually not his son but a different version of him from a different world. It was also implied that Ryo's dad is a single parent, so for him to loss his son would be even worse. Ryo not wanting to let this man alone gets tangled up in a web of lies, the father from his world had still a chance to see him again, the father from the Tamers world wouldn't see his son ever again. So he decides to take this Ryo's place and just hopes the Tamer father doesn't find out. (Lol might write a fanfic about this shit)

so ..... Digimon tamers is a separate universe Than the original shows ... right? buy ryo is in both of these universes? I'm so confused I don't understand any of this and I have seen the shows thousands of times . I'm actually rewatching tamers now . if someone can help me understand this I will be very grateful
There is a rumor that Millenniummon created the other alternate dimensions (Tamers, Frontier, etc).
Ryo used a portal to get from one universe to the other., it's shown in the game "Brave Tamers".

How did Ryo end up in digimon tamers? And in ken backstory

There's something I don't understand. It is shown that Millenniumon was defeated by Ryo and Ken when he was a child, but how can Millenniumon exist when Ken hasn't created Kimeramon yet. Though Machinedramon may possess dead digimon, was there another Kimeramon before the one the digimon emperor created?
The y2k bug caused a random over clock (a boost to a computer's power) that fast forwarded time in the digital world and brought other digimon from the past, and machinedramon was one of them. The chimeramon was still built by ken (the digimon emperor), it just caused a separate timeline when it fused with machinedramon b4 they could kill it. Everything was set to normal when they "killed" milleniumon. The unfortunate thing was that milleniumon had left to a separate time and space when they reset things to its normal timeline. They also destroyed the y2k bug b4 it could effect the earths technology... I'm am just speculating on this, but it make the most sense from what I could tell...

No, he simply switch world's not with his parents too. He probably got adopted, but still, his story is whack.

One possibility is that ENIAC sent his parents from the Adventure world to the Tamers world, which it would have had no difficulty doing due to its powers, another possibility is that his parents in the Tamers world were adoptive and yet another possibility is that his parents in the Adventure world had counterparts in the Tamers world and Ryo was sent to them, if so it's unknown what happened to the Ryo Akiyama originary from Tamers world.

No he became a digidestined after the Adventure team but before the 02 team.

To get the complete story, you need several of them hehe. Do a search for it, i cannot remember all of them at this point. But through 4 games (i think)
