Hey buddy. You dented my dent. That's $10,000.
Good one ! 😂 No sir but see I actually dented it back OUTWARDS slightly so you owe ME partial body work.
Do you really charge customers for rock chips? I feel like there is difference between being dumb and damaging a vehicle and normal wear and tear
Matt Juelich yeah ‘oops I drove the car that I rented to drive my bad’
Yeah, exotic or not. Tiny rock chips are the cost of doing business. I sure hope he doesn't charge for that. I would say it's fair to charge for any chip bigger than an eraser head.
Matt Juelich Legally it’s normal wear you can’t sue the city over a lose bit of road. So you shouldn’t be able to be charged over a chip! Who cares what the car is worth at the end of the day it’s called equal rights.
One chip here or there isn't billed. If the front end gets pepper sprayed from someones use, i'll bill to correct.
Excessive chips would definitely be indicative of the renter being negligent. Ie. following vehicles too closely or following a work truck covered in stones.
This saved me from paying for a scratch a couple of years ago.
I took pics all around the car before we left their lot and it looked pretty much perfect.
But after some rain and dirt got onto the car,.it revealed a big scratch on the back panel.
Thankfully when I zoomed in on my original photos, you could just about see the scratch and they agreed it was already there.
I wish I could afford to rent a car from Mr. Spaghetti. He’s probably the only person that I would rent an exotic car from. 😂
Yea, he is in it for the long haul. He wants happy customers that will come back and/or refer their friends to him. Some others out there assume any given customer is a one time thing and they try to take them for all they can. They will scam a customer out of an extra few hundred or a few thousand for cash in hand today at the cost of their long term business/reputation.
I have never rented cars out but I have owned businesses. On occasion you have to eat a cost but if you treat your customer fairly, they come back. I would rather make nothing on a transaction and have a happy customer return next week. When your customers are happy and keep coming back, you more than make up for the occasional loss.
I used to not get the full coverage that covers the vehicle. On one particular trip, I did because I wasn't paying for the whole bill my self, so i figured I'd "splurge" and get the full coverage insurance It was going to be city driving, so I figured better off safe. An hour into my drive a F350 dually Pick up hit driver side rear door & truck area of the rental while I was standing at a traffic light. The force sends the rental into the car next to me on the right standing at the light and I hit his side. Dually suffered no damage, he decides floors it out and takes off right when I came out. Pick up truck totaled the rental I was driving and the car I hit. They say not to get the insurance, and get it on your own etc etc. But you know what, I'm glad I went for the extra insurance, I didn't pay a single red cent. Nothing. No deductible, no, fee was withheld from my card. I filed a claim and handed the keys over to the hertz tow truck guy. Called Hertz, told them what happened, they sent someone over in less than 30 min, picked me up and took me to their rental location for another rental.
@@derbyale I wish. But I was having a bad week and that made up for it. It felt good to win one.
Today, Mr. Spaghetti tells us how to eat delicious meatballs without getting charged extra🍝
In today’s episode of Supercookers, Chef Ferretti gives us tips on avoiding paying for pasta al dente that you didn’t dente and to check your meatballs before you roll them.
I love the vids, Rob. Thanks for putting a smile on my face every time I get your notifications.
I have been lucky on not being charged for damage I didn't cause. But I have had rental companies try to charge me for filling the tank with a filling fee of $50 and a $1/Gallon markup over what the price they paid was. I was smart enough to get gas at literally the closest gas station. Kept the reciept & took photos of the gas level in the rental lot. I got the money back pretty quick.
I usually rent from Enterprise, but once I had to rent from Hertz. I brought the car back and they tried to ding me for a rock chip in the windshield. I told them if they tried it I'd chargeback it and they can take me to court. Never renting outside of Enterprise again.
I had a rental through enterprise (insurance claim, car was getting front end repair) and I got a chip in the windshield. Put some of the walmart chip filler on it and it was still visible. They never gave me an issue with it.
My first rental from Enterprise, they claimed I sideswiped the car which never happened. Luckily I bought all the optional insurance so I didn't even bother to look afterwards. Always get the insurance.
@@barrybambmessagedeletedbyy7467 hmm, rent car. Get all the insurance. Take to demo derby, return and never look back! Heck yeah!!!
It's awesome that you look out for people like this Not only do you have some really entertaining videos and informative videos but you look out for the little guy as well and that's why I will continue to be subscribed to the channel and tell everybody about it thank you!
Rob, that's excellent advice for more than just cars. Having been burned for damage on a moving truck many years ago, ANY rental that I get, be it car, uhaul, or even tools, I take numerous photos. We all have cameras in our pockets now and taking 2 minutes to capture some images can save you a world of pain.
If you rent a nice car on Turo, PAY FOR THE FULL COVERAGE.
At $400/day extra on a $999/Day Ferrari, plus still having to pay a $500 deductible, no thanks, I'll take my chances and use my own insurance if needed.
@@AeroPrixma yeah, actually it was $399.60/day....I literally just looked when I posted this.
@@RyPhi44 You can take your chances utilizing your own insurance but Turo full coverage let's you walk away just in case you get in an accident, rental car is broken into, or an non insured driver hits you. If you rent an high end sports car for a day (Nissan Gtr) , would you want to pay a $500 - $1000 deductible if you're responsible for a scratch, ding, or crack on windshield. Some renters stalled the engine because they don't know how to properly drive a stick shift.
Rob, good and useful video. Thanks for posting.
Great video Rob! Love how informative these are 👍
Thats why i like your channel!
Helping peoples how to evade getting scammed when they rent cars!
I love you dad. You’re videos are always informational and entertaining. You’re on top of my inspiration list for sure!
Love your videos. You always give out such good information!
Love your ethos! Using you guys next time👌🏻👌🏻 kudos to you!
A lot of great information. Thanks Rob.
Your the best rob 🙌🏼 miss you live videos
Golden Tips! Even took pictures when I was a BM. written damage reports are wayyy to vague. Appreciate the video!
Great thinking. I have rented some exotics and have not had issues. The company took video of the car when I arrived in the lot and then inspected it when I returned it.
But still prolly a good idea to take some close up pics.
I have heard horror stories from even some non-exotic, no name, companies just trying to scam peeps.
Good vid, boss!
Thanks for tips! I don't care what they say about you but you seem like a real stand up guy!
This was actually very helpful, thanks!
Rob: So wanna see the 918?
Me: (hits head on bright yellow pole)
Very good advice... thanks Rob.
You’re awesome Rob, like seriously awesome. I can tell that you’re just a down to earth, genuine person. I can’t wait to rent from you for the first time! I’m definitely going to take your advice all of the way around. But I feel safe coming to you versus other competitors for precisely this reason. I trust you. And I live in KY, so it’s really saying something if I’m willing to drive all of the way to New York just to rent & meet you! I’ll probably do it in the off-season bc, as you once stated, that’s the time to receive the best deal’s. I’m so looking forward to it one day! Definitely on my bucket list! Anyways, I hope that you & your family are doing great, this New Year’s! Take care & God bless Rob,
Matt😊
YOU SIR, are the exception and certainly not the rule. If everyone was stand up like you the world would be a much better place! Thank you for this excellent video. We all need educated!
That's a very fair thing to say about if a part is already damaged a secondary damage spot isnt chargeable if it doesnt change the repair
Good advice Rob!
Thanks, these are great tips
Good tips. I do the same thing, but sometimes I just let some small scratches to let go because rental companies claim that damages are too small to put them in the contract. So far nobody tried to take advantage of me.
good looks rob! renting a G Wagon in Denver in a few weeks and this has helped alot!
Great video. Lots of info
Made a mistake where I turned in a midsized car at an enterprise at night. They didn’t check it in for 2 days. When they did they claimed a scratch on the front bumper. The cost to fix was $400 something. I called bull crap had my own pictures at time of drop off. Just cancelled my credit card all together. I will not pay them, but also any time I’ve had to get a rental during an insurance it kinda screws me as enterprise is the default company that most insurance companies use.
Today, Mr. Spaghetti shows you how to watch your meatballs when dining in another chefs ristorante.
Great info!
Thank you rob I hope to be on one of your rallies in the future
I always have management sign my own notarized form stating the car left after its pre rental inspection along with a ton of photos, time and date stamped. Sixt hates me for it.
Sell your rental cars, you'll stop losing your hair.
Thanks Rob!🤗
I used to rent a lot of cars when I traveled for work. I always did a walk around video and pic of every panel, tires.
You’re so smart by incorporating your ads with your videos lol can’t skip
We are very fortunate to have trustworthy Business owner like you to warn us about the everyday scam! Can’t trust anyone these days!
Wow!!! Very informative!
Today Mr. Spaghetti teaches us how to keep people from double dipping in the meatballs
Good vid Rob
This is actually super informative and helpful -- thanks Mr. Pasghetti.
Glad I could fix my male pattern baldness
I use try to use one rental firm all the time a major brand but a local franchise I have a great relationship with them. These are commute cars but they either let me fix little things or just give me a pass because of the volume we do. So relationships help if you’re a good client and there a good service provider.
Yup! This same process helps with anything in life that involves a deposit and/or a contract. Similar concept - I’ve always received a full refund of my deposit for every apartment I’ve rented because I always did a throughout damage report along with pictures.
I'm glad your honest about renting cars
Thanks Rob.
I'm not in the business, but I used to work in a tle station at Walmart, people would constantly come back and say their wallet was missing or we destroyed their car. New policy was we got a gopro with one of those sticks to mount it on, recorded the license plate, and made a video slowly going around the vehicle, inside and out, and the undercarriage before we even started work.
Rob Is the best guy ever. Straight up. Tells it how it is. Actually cares. When I can get the money together I will be renting from him
Some places in the UK have a "light tunnel" you drive through on the way out/back to the rental place (think of an open ended garage with bright lights and high resolution cameras in a top, bottom, side, side, front and read from above and below configuration) that take photos of the vehicle as it leaves and as it returns to do comparison if needed. not a bad idea i would say.....
Do you have protective film on your cars? what if someone gets a rock chip on the windshield or a bad one on the hood? would you charge them to replace the windshield or hood? what s the procedure? always wondered about that
Why not have an in car video system w telemetry data that uploads to the cloud to approve/disapprove claims?
Mr. Superspeeder rob I really like your videos even though i will never be able to afford thing like the works of art like the ones that you have. I really like that you are always thinking of others with your advice you give eventhough you have been very lucky in life you still find time to share your experiences to help others i find myself praying for you to be even more successful and i who is some ones who loves works of art like yours and will never be able to afford one wish you the best and i hope your success has no end
7:32 if the car is outside and was/is raining - how can i take good pics of bodywork when droplets will optically disguise scratches?
Yea I rented some mid sized sedan from one of the major rental companies in Vegas 1 or 2 years old, 15 or 20,000 miles and it was BEAT, not a scratch or dingless panel on the whole car ! I finally told the guy ,, not enough space to write it all in the check out sheet ! They never tried to charge me for anything , but some one could have practically been charged for a whole paint job if they were being shady.
When Rob opens his Italian restaurant he's going to have pictures of his meals in the menus and make sure his customers are being served exactly as pictures! 😃
Thank you for the good info we should always keep in mind to keep us safe. The last few rental I got lazy with my documation of delivery. No issues , but better safe for that one asshole that is gonna try to screw you over .
I always take pictures when picking up a rental car. But I'm curious. How does a picture hold up in court? Is there anything I can do to actually prove that I took the picture before the rental? I know it has a hidden time stamp somewhere in the file description but is that enough?
@SUPERSPEEDERSROB also recommend taking a video. Photos are great, but a video with your spoken annotations is priceless.
Let the first photo you take be of the odometer and also take one when you get back.
If some1 already replaced the part would that make it void because I was suppose to have the opportunity to buy the part first?
Ons thing also in europe, don’t rent a car from websites that look up on all rent company’s for the best deal. The insurance they provide is not from the rent company, is from the website. If you have damage and insurance from the website, the rent company still will charge you for the repair, and then is up to you do get the money back from the website you had insurance from.
Good job be an honest business man 💪
Far from an exotic car, I rented from Budget in some small town years ago. I rented it for a day and nothing happened. A few days later I get a phone call asking me what happened to the passenger side of the vehicle, saying it was all scraped up. I told them I dropped it off without damage and had no idea what they were talking about. They called twice and I told them they were crazy if they thought they would charge me for something I didn't do and was that obvious. I guess they finally checked their security cameras because I never heard anything back.
P.S. I don't rent from Budget anymore.
Robs wheel repair started at $25 and by the end it was $200 lol...
Best way to protect yourself is don't rent an exotic car.
Thats why I tell all my new Turo guests to make sure they do their part of the check in and check out process. Protect themselves from rogue hosts.
You are such a decent person
Saw ur video what do u think about turo and get around apps tht rent cars are they reliable will they try to scam ??????
Rob spaghetti 2020. The real man of the people
Hey about taking pictures of the car get a picture of the license plate too because they could have the same spec on the lot that’s damaged and who knows they might try to pull a fast one
I have a quick question, where do u rent cars and do you have website? Thx!
You should have a set of slightly scratched rims on standby. Have the costumer look at the undamaged car and sign the contract. Juan outback swaps the tires, you bill the dude for a new set.
dont u offer insurance for the customers?
1:15 so your telling me, my mans mr.sphagetti has another mk5 Supra in red? 2 supras!!!
@@lukey3507 But the MK5 is a rental. A rental that apparently no one wants to rent.
This sounds like great advice. But some questions come to mind. Couldn't you take a picture of something that you damaged and add it to your photos or do they and will they take copies of your pictures instead of their hand written damage assessment form ?
How do you handle scrapes under the front bumper?, making an name for myself for always checking the front bumper at my job haha
I remember watching you years ago and thought you were kind of a punk,,,, my thoughts have changed along with you,,,, thank you for the time you put into the videos you post. The information you provide is invaluable
How do you deal with it mr.spaghetti.... we'll you see most of my cars usually don't get rented out wrecked
Rob, are skylines not desirable rentals anymore? I just realized you have never ranted one but you have rented that z06.
Does exotic car rentals offer their own insurance? If so wonder if they get treated like other regular rental car companies were they are mostly return damage, cus they took the insurance.
Is a costumer allowed to refuse a rental (without fee) because there is too many spots of damage to document? Can a costumer make their rental contingent on being able to lift the car to document damage on the underside of a car?
I just had a rental company a year after renting car say I damaged a door. The pictures saved me.
I rented a car from ACE rental car in florida, and they charged me $1300 for windshield crack, which I never did. When I asked them pictures they sent me a unclear video evidence which barely covers the windshield part. Now they are processeding further to deduct my $1300. What should I do? (Unfortunately I didn't took the windshield images before leaving their place)
Hey I watch all vids you've been uploading
I rented a car in Paris from a large name firm, the car had a scrape on every panel. I did 100km in the 5 days I had it. The car had a €1000 deductible.
On return the rep pointed out damage that wasn’t on the form in his hand that I had pointed out before signing for the car. Fortunately as Rob pointed out in the video I had the photos to back it up as pre existing damage or they would have tried to get the €1000...
rob you should buy a really high definition camera and put it on a circular rail in the floor to 360 video the car before they sign it over and offer a copy it covers both asses and makes everyone happy. you could also make a ton selling the system to other rental company's
Rob I'm going to hire an exotic from you when I go on holiday to America. Because your so honest and straight down the middle. You damaged it ? Hey. It happens, no problem. How you wanna go about paying for the repair. Most other companies would try there best to completely empty your bank account over it. Rob just wants the car fixed cheaply so both parties are happy and the cars back to work again. And most importantly - your happy to rent another on your next trip. That's how it should be.
Good video. Actually changed my perception of you dealing with customer caused damage. I thought you were the guy who would charge multiple times for the same damage.
Now it actually sounds fair what you are doing. All valuable info.
Sometimes it’s worth it to present yourself in a non-nj (scumbag) way.
Damn the damage repair that already there and you don't charge. You are a stand up guy Rob. Hopefully is true.
I have a simple rule on renting: I use my phone to take a photo of the check-in screen. Once I turn it in and it's out of my hand, i have zero liability for anything noticed 'after the fact'.
Doug’s the type of guy that loves to do a walk around. (3 hours later, employee quits his job) Doug still taking photos
Imagine renting a car from him and after you return it you get a CZcams notification
William Simon lmaooo😂
I rented Gotham's 488 for my wedding just a few months before it got destroyed. Does that count?
LOL
Even worse, it's titled "renter tried to scam me and I ate the cost" 😂
Derek Ferrell lol
