ABOUT THE CURSED TAPE:
Someone slipped a mysterious videotape under your door... Do you dare watch it?!
think the most off-putting part of this game isn't the ambient noises or the gradual change from mannequins to actual skinned corpses moving, is the fact that the door the tape was slid under was a closet or bedroom door and not the front door.
So the tape the guy plays ends in another building and the one recording pushes it under the door and it ends up in the guy's apartment from inside it, not outside. That's a scary thought to explore.
*tape slides under door*
*stoops down to look* "Dude, I don't have VCR anymore. I don't even know if my current TV has co-ax."
*tape slides back under door, is replaced with DVD in old Redbox case* "Oh, hey, thanks man. I'll give it a watch later."

Man... I pulled my PS2 out and got a special adapter so that I could play Guitar Hero again. No. A modern 4K television will not let you sync up to a 22 year old rhythm game on a 24 year old console no matter how hard you try.
Today is my Father's birthday, but he passed away two years ago from Thyroid Cancer. Thanks for this Fooster. I really needed a boost today.

My biggest pet peeve with horror movie/games is no one owns a proper flashlight lol
Games have been making better horror than movies for a while now and this is no exception. This terrified me to the point where I was actively holding my breath lol. Thanks Fooster 🎉
the only issue i have with games like this is that they aren't exactly full-length games. they can be beaten in 30 minutes to an hour, especially when there's nothing that actually kills you and makes it a challenge. It sucks when horror is your favorite, but you've already played all the decently lengthy ones and all that's left are indie shorts you don't want to buy because it feels like a waste to spend money on what's basically a demo.

Nice use of suspense in this game.
They missed a golden opportunity in the room with the candle though. They should have done something on that table to grab your attention after blowing out the candle, and once you're occupied slam the door behind you. Add some flickering lights with all that noise outside. Really set your nerves up for what's coming.

A bit of advice from a old man? I myself have felt the sting of love. But my friend, that pain will pass. And just as soon as you stop looking, the right one will jump in your life but you can’t let this pain blind you. I know to well that right now it’s like someone has ripped out a part of you, but this WILL pass. It took me 39 years to find the right one and it was when I decided to stop trying to force it. I’m a retired professional Rock musician and did it from 1982 to 2015. I was between bands when I answered a add for a experienced Bassist, I answered it and audition. I got the job and the lead singer was the most gorgeous woman I had ever seen! 6 foot tall, blonde hair, deep blue eyes! So deep you could just dive into them. We became friends fast, and we worked well on stage together. She has a voice that will melt you. A cross between Pat Benatar & Stevie Nicks! We were friends for 3 years. I had a girlfriend and she had a boyfriend. But we would hang out and go shopping together, she wanted my opinion of what looked hot as stage clothes. And brother is she hot. My girlfriend and me had been having bad problems and I broke up with her. That same week she also broke up with her boyfriend. We were partying together, you know the Rock lifestyle. When we decided that mainly be we should give it a shot. So we start dating. She asked me to move in with her, keep in mind we already knew each other very well because we had already been friends for 3 years. I said yes. And 30 days later we got married. My friend, that was 16 years ago. I didn’t really know what love was then. With me being in the music industry I wasn’t hurting for companionship. I’m not proud to say that I have slept with more women than I can count. Back then I was a typical rock musician. But she saw past all of that and made a honest man out of me. My career came to a end in 2015 because honestly, I have worn out my body. It put me in a wheelchair for three years and I will live in pain the rest of my life. But she has stood beside me through it all. And I have no doubt that if I hadn’t married her I would be dead now. I would happily lay my life down for her, and her me! She is my Angel & my everything.
My point my friend is that you have to stop looking for love, have patients and let love find you. But you can’t let this pain you feel now block you from being able to see it. When it hits you it will be like a ton of bricks. Learn from this pain, it is going to get better. Listen to this song, I’m going to give you the title. Please listen to it. It’s called Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks. I’m praying that you find peace.

I was playing RDR2 the other day and our cats broke out into a very loud, and unexpected fight right next to me while I was on my way to the General Store, I clenched up and accidentally hit the R2 button and blew an innocent bystander's head off. "NICE ONE YOU TWO, NOW I GOT THE COPS AFTER ME AND IT'S ALL ... YOUR ... FAULT!"

I am painting while I was watching this and you’d think I should know better by now. That first jump scare I flung my paintbrush across the room and nearly upended my entire project. Lesson learned. 😅
I've watched a lot of people play a lot of different horror games but this...the audio in this...its impeccable. The entire "let ur brain scare itself" isnt necessarily unheard of, but this was really well done. Havnt been afraid to watch/play a game in a LONG time but this is happily marked off the list before it even made it to the list. Congrats on just finishing this game, let alone making it past the first 5 minutes
I couldn't predict a single sound, but that nostalgic toy sound was the one that threw me off.

It reminded me a lot like the game where you had to go to your grandpas house after he died to get a picture and it was all sorts of puzzles, creepy dolls, body parts, and a giant monster that scared the living shite out of you haha! So the song playing in the background at 29:50 is "Greensleeves", one of the main songs of choice of ice cream trucks. Not quite a fun fact: many years ago I lived in a suburb where some absolute bloody psychopath would drive an ice cream truck around the streets at 3am on random days, Greensleeves blaring through one of those ancient megaphones those trucks have, in the middle of winter. Always winter. It went on for a couple of years before abruptly stopping.
You can tell Fooster really likes saying ‘And I’ll see you all…… in the next one’ haha. I love it.

Im definitely starting to recognize what kinds of things scare me. At first I thought it was only psychological horror games that affected me anymore. Being a long time FNAF enjoyer, I’ve seen all sorts of games played, and as such, jumpscares. Some are just so cheap compared to others they don’t affect as much, if any at all. Psychological tho, man, it’s so good. The best part is you the player will do all the scaring for yourself. But this game also made me realize, that many times throughout, we start to get into a groove of relaxing and taking our paranoia, just for the jumpscare to pop and reset it. It’s good that there isn’t that many jumpscares, and when there is one, it’s utilized in a way that it gives us a scare at 100%. We relax, and get caught off guard.
I also believe for me personally, the jumping part doesn’t scare me as much. Visual stuff can be scary and make me more paranoid, but nothing to the extend of maybe flinching at the very most. But audio jumpscares, which this game had a lot of. Man dude, they scared the ever living shit out of me. Loud noises tend to work in me so much better. This game was an absolute gem of a watch.
