So Cap isn't worthy- Cap, the guy is the closest we have to a perfect man in comics (outside of superman), Bat's methods aren't exactly the kindest, while Cap who fights for the good of the nation, who is shown as a national hero still can't lift the hammer. The Spider-Man/Batman crossover has one of my favorite moments in any comic I've ever read. When Joker and Carnage are arguing about killing people. Carnage says using things like poison gas or viral outbreaks is for cowards. That killing someone is all about feeling their bones break, seeing the terror in their eyes, and hearing their screams. While Joker says that the way Carnage does things is primitive and boring. That is lacks creativity or any sort of grand theatrics. Then Carnage tries to kill Joker, but they are in Jokers hideout so he naturally escapes and brings down the entire building (that was wired with explosives) on Carnage.

Batman's martial arts let him punch/kick with a force greater than bullet impacts, apparently... The bullet impacts to the body didn't force Hulk to breathe in, but the force of that kick apparently was strong enough to do it... I prefer at least when Batman's bullshit is just insane planning rather than "I kicked him and I know nearly every martial art!"

The more this story ages, the more iv come to realize how simple comics were at the time of this story being written. Largely written for an audience new to these stories... probably young and just wanted to see heros beat each other up only to win. If this story was rewritten, yes Hulk wouldve won by brute force alone.

I personally hated this story when it came out because there is no way a kick from batman is going to force a guy that has missiles bounce off him force the air out of him. I know it's just a comic but everytime dc and marvel crossed over in those days they would have some lame reason for the dc character to win. I excepted it with spiderman vs superman but with batman and hulk I cry foul.No prep time and batman is able to best one of the most powerful creatures on the planet. I loved that story of Batman vs. the Hulk. It showed a great possibility of seeing a shared comic universe. It also showed how Batman or even the Joker would against any character. Absolutely ridiculous, a peak human physically beating a being with godlike strength and invulnerability and people try to justify it with "he used a gas grenade". This is the kinda stuff that makes me shake my head with the Batman character and DC comics, theres no consistency, no physical laws of any sort. With other peak human characters like Doctor Doom it makes sense since he uses tech/magic and has a suit more capable than Iron mans. But to make Batman best Hulk in a physical confrontation is going too far and cheapens both characters, how is that ear shot and kick going to do anything to Hulk? Isn't it established by this point that gases and poisons have no effect on the Hulk? And How is it that Batmans back wasn't snapped in a fraction of a second? How is it that Batman effortlessly dodges all of Hulks attacks when he's likely much faster? To me it cheapens the Batman character more than anything, why would a genius and tactical master engage a godlike being in a physical contest and let himself get caught in a bearhug that would snap his back before he can even physically react? He should be maneuvering, keeping distance, using an assortment of strategies and gadgets/technologies, perhaps even choosing to escape and reingage, he should have a suit on par with Iron Man and Doctor Doom with accompanied technologies and weapons systems. Thats why I feel that I've never really read a Batman story where he utilizes his supposed range of skills and technologies, we always hear of his tactics, tech, prep time, strategic mastery. But in most Batman stories he barely even uses any of that and instead uses physical combat and simple tools. I actually enjoy what the character of Batman represents more than what he actually is in the comics: the vulnerability as a human, the human ingenuity, the use of technologies and meticulous planning, the use of stealth, the genius level intellect, the pragmatic approach and survivalist. He could have been a great character like the ulitimate Ninja with unlimited resources. Instead what we get is a trope, a farce, a meme, a character whos power levels increase only due to the increase of popularity and pleasing fans. Its absolutely ridiculous, he has no powers. Like I said I like the idea of what Batman could and should be rather than what he is in the comics: a character that can defeat gods, and why can he do this you ask , its simple really: Because he's Batman..... Personally if bane was able to break bats back with just his knee and bane being nowhere near as strong as hulk, then bats back should've snapped the instant hulk grabbed him. bats feats are normally based on prep time which allows his genius to shine. that's how he's able to do non human like feats. there are those occasions bats pulls something on the fly as well. the problem I see with bats period, is that he's constantly fighting the same ppl over and over. so he already knows what to do. the stories are only interesting because the villians are crazy in the head. So the story gets away with a certain level of an intriguing variation of what the character tried to do the previous time. because of this rinse and repeat bats gets to shine more and more when he's not really out smarting anybody he's just using his experience to solve the crimes he faces with little effort. it's like knowing the ending to a book by heart because you've read it plenty of times. I like bats but I think he's flawed. I think his image allows him to get away with things he shouldn't. we know he's human, we know he's smart. that's all good but certain things that he does regardless of training and studying, he should've died. A person can't live long enough to master everything he has regardless of how smart he is. all the actual brilliant minds in today's world who are in shape who are tech savvy couldn't even pull it off, why because they're human. bats coolness has allowed him to overcome his own human as a feat of its own ? no. I want to see a story where you actually get to see his human aspect overcome his own genius by simply saying "look Bruce you do this and you die, there's no coming back" or "don't attempt this you'll die" that exists in his stories but he overcomes it which makes him cool but that's just not possible. where the volumes of stories where he doesn't overcome his own human. we all have our own limits but one limit we all share is that we are "human" which doesn't translate to let do something crazy stupid and I'll survive cuz I know acrobat's and a little Kung Fu even though everything about this stunt says I will die. again I love bats but I also think he one of the biggest bullshit characters out there.
I am actually trying to envision how the batman can even compete with a man that has no weakness at his transformed stage. Not only that but the hulk is not just a power house he is also super fast. Batman vs. hulk is almost like comparing DBZ'S hercule to the transformed saiyan ape. i have not seen this segment yet so im very curious to see how the writers pulled it off.

Theres no way hulk is smarter than bane. Bruce Banner is, but the hulk is almost mindless. Bane on the other hand is a genius, a mind equal to the greatest Ra's al ghul has ever known(Batman). He's just not classically trained, he's self educated. He taught himself his own fighting style which was never beaten in the prison where he grew up. He has an eidetic memory, meaning he remembers everything. He figured out batmans identity in a year, then broke his back. All it takes to beat hulk is to revert him to bruce banner. Bane would beat the hulk as well. Hulk is not unbeatable, he's just as strong as he is angry. Put him to sleep and he's done.

Hey Rob. I'm not sure if you've ever covered it, but I would absolutely love you forever if you covered the Batman Cataclysm event. Outside of Knightfall, Killing Joke and Long Halloween, it's one of my all time favorite Batman stories.
The Hulk is the kind of characther U can't prepare yourself to fight seeing he has no limits (as the fight goes he gets stronger and he can adapt to any ambient)or weakness...so yeah he is one of the perfect characthers that can't really be beaten with a smart man strategy at least not easily and not even super power technology was used, hell even the Hulkbuster usually don't stand a chance and only work to hold the Hulk for a while

He should be maneuvering, keeping distance, using an assortment of strategies and gadgets/technologies, perhaps even choosing to escape and reingage, he should have a suit on par with Iron Man and Doctor Doom with accompanied technologies and weapons systems.
Thats why I feel that I've never really read a Batman story where he utilizes his supposed range of skills and technologies, we always hear of his tactics, tech, prep time, strategic mastery. But in most Batman stories he barely even uses any of that and instead uses physical combat and simple tools. I actually enjoy what the character of Batman represents more than what he actually is in the comics: the vulnerability as a human, the human ingenuity, the use of technologies and meticulous planning, the use of stealth, the genius level intellect, the pragmatic approach and survivalist. He could have been a great character like the ulitimate Ninja with unlimited resources.
Instead what we get is a trope, a farce, a meme, a character whos power levels increase only due to the increase of popularity and pleasing fans. Its absolutely ridiculous, he has no powers. Like I said I like the idea of what Batman could and should be rather than what he is in the comics: a character that can defeat gods, and why can he do this you ask , its simple really: Because he's Batman..... Booorriiing...

Personally if bane was able to break bats back with just his knee and bane being nowhere near as strong as hulk, then bats back should've snapped the instant hulk grabbed him.
bats feats are normally based on prep time which allows his genius to shine. that's how he's able to do non human like feats. there are those occasions bats pulls something on the fly as well.
the problem I see with bats period, is that he's constantly fighting the same ppl over and over. so he already knows what to do. the stories are only interesting because the villians are crazy in the head. So the story gets away with a certain level of an intriguing variation of what the character tried to do the previous time. because of this rinse and repeat bats gets to shine more and more when he's not really out smarting anybody he's just using his experience to solve the crimes he faces with little effort. it's like knowing the ending to a book by heart because you've read it plenty of times.
I like bats but I think he's flawed. I think his image allows him to get away with things he shouldn't. we know he's human, we know he's smart. that's all good but certain things that he does regardless of training and studying, he should've died. A person can't live long enough to master everything he has regardless of how smart he is. all the actual brilliant minds in today's world who are in shape who are tech savvy couldn't even pull it off, why because they're human. bats coolness has allowed him to overcome his own human as a feat of its own ? no. I want to see a story where you actually get to see his human aspect overcome his own genius by simply saying "look Bruce you do this and you die, there's no coming back" or "don't attempt this you'll die" that exists in his stories but he overcomes it which makes him cool but that's just not possible. where the volumes of stories where he doesn't overcome his own human.
we all have our own limits but one limit we all share is that we are "human" which doesn't translate to let do something crazy stupid and I'll survive cuz I know acrobat's and a little Kung Fu even though everything about this stunt says I will die.
again I love bats but I also think he one of the biggest bullshit characters out there.

I am actually trying to envision how the batman can even compete with a man that has no weakness at his transformed stage. Not only that but the hulk is not just a power house he is also super fast. Batman vs. hulk is almost like comparing DBZ'S hercule to the transformed saiyan ape. i have not seen this segment yet so im very curious to see how the writers pulled it off.

Theres no way hulk is smarter than bane. Bruce Banner is, but the hulk is almost mindless. Bane on the other hand is a genius, a mind equal to the greatest Ra's al ghul has ever known(Batman). He's just not classically trained, he's self educated. He taught himself his own fighting style which was never beaten in the prison where he grew up. He has an eidetic memory, meaning he remembers everything. He figured out batmans identity in a year, then broke his back. All it takes to beat hulk is to revert him to bruce banner. Bane would beat the hulk as well. Hulk is not unbeatable, he's just as strong as he is angry. Put him to sleep and he's done.
Al Goody Everything was you said is only applicable on certain versions of the Hulk which is mostly the weakest version but not for World War Hulk or World Breaker Hulk.

Hey Rob. I'm not sure if you've ever covered it, but I would absolutely love you forever if you covered the Batman Cataclysm event. Outside of Knightfall, Killing Joke and Long Halloween, it's one of my all time favorite Batman stories.

The Hulk is the kind of characther U can't prepare yourself to fight seeing he has no limits (as the fight goes he gets stronger and he can adapt to any ambient)or weakness...so yeah he is one of the perfect characthers that can't really be beaten with a smart man strategy at least not easily and not even super power technology was used, hell even the Hulkbuster usually don't stand a chance and only work to hold the Hulk for a while
