    how can a person sit through this without becoming emotional. I mean I'm a composer and this just about moves me to tears! But great music or art or poetry, takes you to a place where you don't come to tears, but close. The artist died a needless devastating death. The world lost perhaps the greatest violinist of all time!

      I couldn't agree more. His untimely and cruel death is an immense loss to the Musical art. Yet still he lives, I think, through these rare recordings. This piece haunts me for decades...

      Josef Hassid died in 1950 in England.
