Seth! I'm so hyped! I just got back from my local standard tourney (I'm spoiled, I get to play standard competitively 4 days a week) and I played a deck very close to this. I'm playing a turns deck with 4 Nexus and 2 Sunderings. I took 5 straight turns and got to tap down Palladia Mors with an Icy. It was almost like the 90's again. Thanks again, and please do an Against the Odds with Nexus of Fate sometime. I would love to see what type of Standard turns deck you come up with! Broo, I'm playing 6 Time Walk's and 3 Icy's in my deck!!!! It's soo fun! My opponent played Bolas 3 times, flipped him once, and I still beat him. It was ridiculous. He's not at all a scrub... lol Thanks again

It resists removal, and EVERY creature you drop will trigger it.
At 52:50 you had lethal. A lot of people don't remember that Lathliss has a third ability and it's for all dragons. With 6 mana you can exert Glorybringer to clear out the blocker and hit for exactly 24 after he gains 1 life. (9 + 7 + 8) I killed a player who just Approached to 23 with Lathliss, a 5/5 and 12 mana.

I run some 5 color super friends and i found that navigators compass really helps and the life gain helps aginst the agro maybe worth a shot

46:54 really should have cast vraskas contempt on the scrapheap there. If you're holding it for walkers then the following turn casting disintegration on pia nalaar makes more sense than on the scrapheap
Seth, what do you think about pillar of origins in this deck? It's a 2-mana ramp that is relatively difficult to disrupt, fixes the mana for elder dragons, and allows for turn 3 bolas or verix.
I feel like this deck is a bit childish. I mean, in a positive way, like being happy as a child at their birthday, when you have your board of fat powerful dragons beating down the opponent. Congrats Seth on this awesome deck! :D

What about Mox Amber? I think it would work well in this deck. Good mana ramp with a 3 drop planeswalker or 4 drop legendary bolas. And if you don’t need it late game, discard with Sarkhan’s first ability

maybe better to swap out Palladia for Verix? I know it's a flavor loss, but it might just be a more efficient deck.

Seth I love you and all the content that you make but you played that RB match horribly. You kept wasting removal on the scrounger instead of killing pia first, taking 1 more damage, then you can cast vraska's contempt on scrapheap.
That play was a head scratcher for sure.... I think he was tilted. I notice him making sloppy plays like that sometimes when he's on the back-foot and his deck isn't cooperating.

I disagree I think Seth always wastes removal in the worst ways especially in standard over modern.
But killing pia with disintegration and then contempting the scrap heap would have won him the game, and then he could use struggle on any upcoming threat.

Yes! After a week of campaigning we got it.
WotC missed a GREAT opportunity to reintroduce tribal cards with Dragon's Hoard. It should've been printed as the card type "Tribal Artifact-Dragon". Think of how sweet it would've been, and how differently these games would've been if a Sarkhan, Fireblood could help cast a Dragon's Hoard with its +1 add two mana to cast a Dragon spell. It wouldn't be game breaking either, yet the extra tempo and card draw from Hoard could possibly kick in even sooner. Why Wizards? Why? What a wasted opportunity.
Calvin and Hobbes
Can someone please explain why the opponent scooped at 16:40? Neither of them were close to dying and they both had several threats on board while the opponent was at 26. ???? Confused.
It's a UG deck with no cards in hand & 3 creatures. Seth had 3 cards in hand, a Karn and a blocker that he could probably use to block the Bolas clone. Leaving the Opponent top decking against a deck he knows has Glory Bringer, Abrade and Unlicensed Disintegration. He was in a losing situation that he wouldn't be able to recover from. So what's the point in dragging the game on pointlessly when you have other games to play.
I think it was mostly the Dragon's Hoards really. With our opponent being empty handed and not being that far ahead on board I think they figured that they just couldn't keep up with us dragon three cards a turn (especially knowing that our deck is stuffed full of powerful cards/Dragons).
Real sad that this wasn't tackled in Goldfish Gladiator. I know Seth isn't a fan of animations, but this deck would have been a true visual espectacle

I've found that if I start my midrange/control decks with four Treasure Map and four Karn I can fill in around that package with just about anything and still have a somewhat functional deck.

52:52 missed lethal attack... you had 15 flying dmg on board, 7 lands after you played land for the turn. Play glorybringer for 5CMC use Lathliss ability +1 to attack for all the dragons. 15 before glorybringer, 19 after, 23 after the pump for exact vs tapped out opponent. Use Glory bringer ability to kill their only flying blocker and victory is yours @mtggolffish

unfortunally not a single match against esper control or UW which i find more frequently on arena than red black, but we can already predict they wouldn't be playable match ups.
I think we should be fine against UW/Esper thanks to powerful threats and sideboard options, but it would have been nice to play against it.
I might trust your judgement but when the threats are expensive I don't see a very bright future in the face of 4 vraska+4 gearhulks, yeah sometimes you've been able to play sarkhan plus something else on the same turn but I don't know. Instead I tried the ginger deck from your finals and it was very consistent regardless the match up, ofc it is a red deck splashing for bolas and scarab so it had to be, and you can also afford to grind with a red deck. My favourite though is still the jeskai sundering, a little frustrating lately because esper has always more answers than you expecially pre-sideboard, it improves a lot with negates, jace's defeat and spyglass but still on the edge.

How do you feel about replacing the trials of zeals in the fiery wizard burn deck with guttersnipes??? I think it is a good replacement.
Trial of Zeal isn't great, so trying something else is a good plan.

I think our opponent just assumed they couldn't keep up with us drawing three cards a turn with Dragon's Hoards.
Flipping bolas, chance of having bigger dragons in hand, drawing more cards with dragons hoard, hand could have been absolute shit etc

in the game loss ending at 48:48 you really shouldve killed the pia over playing sarkhan, or later kill the pia with disintegration instead of the scrounger so you could vraskas contempt the scrounger the following turn and end the recursion

love the deck but it would be 10 times better if you just cut green and white and made it a 3 colour elder dragon deck (RBU). More consistent doesn't need 4 treasure maps etc.
Cutting colors would be more consistent. I'd probably still play Treasure Map though, I just love that card.

Yes because on your last glory in your hand you would've killed them the following turn. You had 3 glorybringers in so yes it is worth the risk. Playing defense costed you 12 points of damage in this scenario. Maybe I'm just a aggresive player lol.

Game one versus grixis midrang (around the 1:07:00 mark) you lost a turn because of MtGO, but then you gave up another turn by taking the four damage from bolas, when you could have drawn the removal with dragons hoard, sac'd one treasure to cast it. Then you could have resolved Karn before the next bolas came down. Not a huge gripe, and I appreciate your videos. I think the misclick disrupted your inner rhythm for the rest of the game.
