There is a tendency to demonise the institution of marriage after having a bad experience in it. Our experiences naturally tends to redefine how we perceive things and what we go through in life has a way of making us redefine God wrongly and it should never be so. God is God, everything He does is perfect. We are the ones with the shortcomings and He is the one that can fix us, if we agree to listen to Him and do things His way.
My not good experience in marriage has not changed God’s beautiful idea of marriage. If and when God gives me the opportunity again, I will do it again. I pray we humble ourselves and seek the ways of the Lord in every matter.
As a very private person ,talking about this is something I would not have done. Because I believe the bulk of our lives is not and should not be lived on social media. But as I have been directed by the Holyspirit to share this-I know from experience of my walk with him that there is a purpose and this will help a lot of people. And when it comes to the Holy Spirit My reservations always give way.

I know that sensationalism and speculation is rampant in today's world.
Which is why I Was led to share this clearly and succinctly in my own words.

Not entirely true; "we must both work at it with the help of Holy Spirit; nothing is automatic. Further, we also must truly understand Father's purpose for His union between Male and Female.....to be a God-pleasing representation of Jesus and His bride and to fulfill the commandment to be fruit and multiply and have dominion over every lower form of life (animal) and destroy the works of the devil (and our flesh) first and foremost in our own bloodlines (parental and maternal)!

When I was a teenager I dreaded the idea of marriage because of what I saw around me.
Thanks to Jesus, my mindset is changed and I believe that I will have one of the best marriage experiences ever. My future husband (wherever he is) is a man who loves and obeys the HolySpirit…and we will submit to each other under Christ.

I came to a point that I didn’t care anymore if my marriage worked but hearing what you said is a reminder to do it God’s way. Maybe I should speak my role to my husband and likewise. I don’t know if this will help as I have tried so many ways to make it work in my own strength. Sister Victoria, can I tell you how much of a blessing you are to the body of Christ? That God in His awesome power and Omniscience would have you address thus topic is nothing short of Amazing. Truly the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. It was only yesterday that my daughter and I was address this subject matter. She asked why can’t I have sex before marriage and I in the best way I could explained. Then she said I want to get an understanding of marriage because I want to do it right (by God) I don’t want it to be fleeting. Again I tried my best to explain based on The Word and I did not quote that particular scripture in Ephesians, but I was able to speak about Gid being the head of the marriage and the importance of submission. I even made reference to time in Genesis when it was intended to be a partnership and and companionship until after that beguiling of Eve by the devil, that disobedience by Eve when God now said your husband shall rule over you. But that today you would come along and neatly package this message with such clarity ( some people are just better orators 😊😇) is confirmation, , a reinforcement and simply a blessing. What are the odds? It tells me the Holy Spirit is alive and at work always. Much blessings to you and may your oil never run dry.

I love that you choose to honor God and His word regardless of your personal experience or that of others. That’s what it means to be subjects in God’s kingdom. I celebrate you Ma.
It has always amazed me that people fail to see that Jesus gave it all before we knew or loved him! He sacrificed his life for sinners. It is as we came to understand, see and embrace His love and Lordship that we began to align to his ways. Husbands have more to do because they are directly compared to Christ and to do it Christ way will invariably bring the submission that is so overtly emphasized! None of us submitted to Christ until His love was preached and shown to us!
Today, I choose God’s way and will in submission because I think of His love for me and all he has invested in me and I tell my soul; “To commit this sin is not worth it! God’s love and investment in my life cannot be taken for granted! We can’t do this! He loves us so much, we can’t go against Him! He loves us so much, we can’t break His commandments! He loves us so much, we can’t afford to hurt him because of this temporary pleasure…”
That is it!
It’s the love and the investment of God in and upon our lives that constrains us!
But when you demand submission without that kind of love of Christ, it’s trying to the it the other way round and it just doesn’t work because that wasn’t the template of Christ!
Demonstrating unconditional love is a harbinger of Sibmission! Like Hosea and his prostitute of a wife, that’s how God loves us, he keeps coming to us even when we turn our backs on Him!
How many men understand this?
How many men are willing to love like this?
Yet that is what Ephesians is telling husbands to do!
Paul is invariably saying; “Even when you see she doesn’t deserve the love, love her because that’s what Christ did for us! Even when she does contrary to what you want, correct her, chastise her if need be but love her still! Love her not for what she can do or will do but because by The Help of The Holy Spirit, you love her unconditionally!”
This is the ‘call’ of anyone who wants to be husband!😀 And it’s a huge call!

And then wives, just as we will say Yes to the Lord in all things, knowing He loves us and has our good at heart always, we submit to our husbands trusting that he has our good at heart always as directed by The Holy Spirit.
None of the roles can be accomplished in the flesh, it takes The Help of The Holy Spirit if we ask for it!

Yeah very true. But it takes two. Well I've learnt this from older people who have been married for a very long time. Marriage is never perfect as it takes two humans. As humans we're naturally flawed but when both parties put in the work to make things right between each other and looking to Christ as the final authority that's where you flourish and it's even backed by the bible.

I was truly blessed by this message! Thank you so much for opening up and sharing this with us. I actually grew up in the church but became atheist for about 10 years in my teens and early 20s and this is one scripture that always sat sideways in my spirit. NOT because I didn't agree with God's word, but because I always felt it was not balanced or was missing something. I've probably studied this scripture for hours and never saw what was right in front of my eyes! Truth in it's purest! That's what I have been teaching those that I can. Especially that we all need to understand that it's a must to have the Holy Spirit within you. The emphasis has always been on vs 22. I didn't even know 21 existed until I read it myself.
With the way it was talked about, oh dear, they made vs. 22 look like an impossible task and like a 'slaves to master' kind of relationship. Whereas '... as unto God...' there's the 'friendship' and 'sonship' aspect of submission.
