    I love these little bikes. Like a swiss army knife of a bike, does just a little bit of everything.

    You should explain what a spark arrestor does. People will still ride wherever they want even if they dont have one. In National Forests when fire danger is high, spark arrestors are REQUIRED.

    • @RobertDrinkrow
      @RobertDrinkrow Před 2 měsíci

      The spark arrestor is in the exhaust. It’s not physically possible for a spark to go through the carburetor and out the intake. Your carb would explode…

    Good stuff, the 115 is a little rich above 3,500’ but works fine up to about 5,500’ before it starts loosing power.

  • @RedBud315
    @RedBud315 Před 7 měsíci +2

    I did the 115, pulled the airbox insert out and bought and extra spark arrestor so I could gut out my original and cut the tip off slightly to enlarge it. Sounded slightly quieter than removing the arrestor entirely. Runs good throughout the rev range. My elevation is anywhere from sea level to about 100 feet so can't ask for better conditions. I just rode it in 50 degree weather and it ran great.

    Did you guys do any sort of major break in before doing these mods? Just curious because I just bought a 23 xr150l 2 days ago. I’ve pulled the spark arrestor. Wanting to do the intake and main jet like you did but I’m unsure if I should wait to mod anymore until til after the “break in”. At the end of the day it’s an air cooled HONDA motor. So maybe I’m overthinking it lol. Do you think it’s bullet proof enough for me to go ahead and just do the other two mods? And did you see a decent power increase?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před 5 měsíci +1

      A noticeable amount with all 3 mods. (Main jet swap, intake and exhaust mod) best mod i would say is the 16tooth front sprocket. Would definitely do all mods again and we did them right away as well. In terms of break in, its a honda! Lol only thing we tried avoiding is hitting redline/ rev limiter. Thanks for watching and let me know if ya got any other questions! 😎🤘🏼

    What about drilling out the inside of the snorkel maintaining the outer portion but still increasing airflow?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před měsícem

      I mean you could, the rubber wouldnt drill very easily and just seems simpler to remove and reinstall in really muddy off road conditions but hey im not gonna stop yah! Try it! if yah like it let me know 😎🤘🏼 more air mo betta thanks for watching!

    Is the JIS screwdriver the only size for the bike?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Typically just use them on carbs. Standard Number 2 Phillips works pretty much everywhere else. On the handbars though some of screws are pretty tight so best to use a #2 tip in a impact screwdriver to get them out if you got some screws at tight as some of ours were. Less risk of stripping the the head. For the airbox itself regular screwdriver worked fine 😎 thanks for watching! 🤘🏼

    Why does everyone mod this carb instead of putting a new carb? I’ve only seen one CZcamsr install a new carb on this motorcycle.

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Rejetting is much cheaper and simpler on a budget bike like this. There isnt much info on other carbs and if they make much of a difference. From what ive seen it is pretty negligible especially when u factor in cost of a new carb vs jets. While aftermarket carbs can make a huge difference on some bikes I dont think it is the case on this bike. If you going for power would be much better power improvement going to bigbore kit for the money but will jeopardize some reliability. Still a pretty new bike atleast to usa and the aftermarket option are pretty slime. Time will tell if they increase aftermarket support for the bike.

    Why doesnt a company make a small EFI unit. ?
    Also, why doesnt people just buy a performance carberator ? ? ?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před 9 měsíci +4

      Good question but would be extremely costly and expensive for such a budget bike. By time you put a name brand pipe(when they make them) and a high quality performance carb your talking price point of nicer dual sports that would still have more power. Not saying it wouldnt be cool but definitely gonna be limited market unless the xr150 community grows to the size of something like the Grom community. Time will tell maybe they will make a budget friendly performance carb for these.

      @@Floatsorrolls1 A Nibbi PE28 should fit these bikes, though I haven't tested it yet on my XR150. They're pretty cheap compared to the other options. I'll probably give it a shot this spring after this snow melts.

    is it bogging less now?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před 8 měsíci +2

      It felt better with the rejetting but didnt really bog before. Its power isn’t much and this gave more sound and rejet made the bike run happier since it runs more lean from factory. can say the 16 tooth sprocket was the biggest improvement in power on the bike. Helping gear the bike down makes it was more fun for heavier riders. 16tooth was happy medium for street riding while 15 tooth was best offroad for us.

    I bought this bike to just putt around after years of riding Honda 400’s and 450’s tearing up the trails. Not interested in uncorking the air box or exhaust and resetting the carb for 1 MPH more gain in top end.

      Not sure wht you mean lol. Off road in a really muddy environment better to use snorkel. Otherwise you run higher risk of getting mud and water in intake. You do you. Imma keep it in for offroad and remove for street use. No blindness here pretty simple stuff.

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Big bore will definitely help but personally dont wanna reduce the reliability of the bike. We have the xr650l and crf450l and got the bike for some fun mild offroading and nice little bike to run up to the store. I do like the idea of bigbore kit but would definitely investigate the long term reliability with the kit.
