David Spade is my favorite person to see in interviews. So funny every time.
Even though he knows he can't do a Walken impression, his delivery and storytelling was still funny
The funny thing is multiple actors talk about being in makeup with Walken and he's exactly like David Spade describes. Just one long continuous story, and you think there's some deep philosophical meaning and it's just Walken talking about nothing.
We all did the voice while he said the story, so it's all good.

The best part of this was the dog, cat and mouse questions Walken asked. He comes up with the craziest comments. Love him.

I was thinking the same thing. His impression came off more genuine. Most impressions are usually much more exaggerated.

Yeah, he's right, he doesn't have a good Walken impersonation, however the way he said it, I totally get that its Walken. Very subtle.
I think it's more the content than delivery on that point
It's the fact that Walken's conversation incorporates a large percentage of curve-balls and knuckle-balls. Spade conveys that as well as any impressionist who nails his voice and gestures.

David Spade is one of those few that I love seeing doing his thing....he draws me in and I always watch to the end. (Not his movie roles, just him being him, smartass that he is....really wish his show lasted longer, but I think he pissed off too many....)

Walken's awkward conversations are legendary. These are the type of things that are weird at the time but funny to look back on. I was at a gathering once and a guy I know to see (not a friend or anything) comes over. Strange guy and I knew he'd previously asked me a tech question. So he just stands beside me and says "hello". I reply hello and he stands there saying nothing waiting for ME to keep the conversation going. I decide I will say nothing to see what happens. About 20 seconds go by with complete silence and I just say "Well...see you later" and walk off. It was gloriously awkward

You'd be surprised how many people in Russia, or even in Transnistria love Joe Dirt. It's like that movie Freddy Got Fingered. So funny and so underrated.
