    NSX has the best brakes by 10ft from 70-0 over the 570S, more visibility by 5 degrees, double the warranty, and comparable acceleration. More grip than the V10+, and so on. The performance is there. C&D and MT dont want to admit it for some reason. Meanwhile Chris Harris dubs it a cut price 918, road and track awards it the performance car of the year. and so on. The car is killer.

      It bothers me when people only care about the horsepower numbers and times. This car is impressive, even if it's 'only' 570ish horsepower it puts down the power with near perfect repeatable performance. It makes the power faster and all in all a perfect performer.

      It’s because it’s overpriced and underpowered. It’s almost $200,000 USD (after adding packages) and it’s only 573 HP (which isn’t slow but doesn’t seem impressive when compared to its competitors). Take for example a GTR. It’s a car you can get between $80,000-$120,000 and the speed is around the same as the NSX. Because of this, most people stick with other sports cars.

      Because in this level of price you can demand pure performance but this is beated for a 4 seats GTR, Honda is famous for mechanics performance, crazy electronic stuff you have Porsche or Ferrari for example... So what is the point of this car? The old NSX was capable to fight against much more expensive Porsche and ferrari, this cannot and is not even have a optional manual transmision and sounds horrible compared to NSX-R. I only like the hybrid assist, just that. And I am a hard fan of NSX

      Its the same reactions as the original nsx when it came out, people were saying it was a wannabe Ferrari that lacked the soul and sound of a true supercar. That it had such a bland Honda interior. Then years later people all of a sudden love it. The same thing with the LFA, i remember the car being hated by tons of people saying things like “only an idiot would buy a 400k Toyota” or that its dumb because a gtr could do the same for 1/4 the price.
      Car “enthusiasts” are a company’s worse nightmare. Car companies have to invest hundreds of millions into developing a new sports car, and hoping the people love it, or else they lose millions. Its no wonder why companies like toyota and honda ditched the sports car market for a while and focused on regular cars and suvs. Then people beg Honda to make a new nsx and when they do the people complain about how it took too long or how its not like the original (which is dumb).

    Honda is bringing the technology of a hyper car to a affordable price. People don't like it because it's a complicated car that 'Stupid people" can't understand. The NSX has the SH-AWD and the hybrid power train for a reason. This is a track focused car. The car reviewers just hate hondas. NSX stands for New Sportscar eXpirimental, it does not have to be a successor to the original NSX. The NSX has always been defined by new technologies. Not HP, Not the numbers.

      I own two great Honda cars, S2000 and NSX. Not all people are Honda gaiters who dislike this car. Some are Honda fans who hate this car, including me and maybe most of the Japanese. This car is not at all an “NSX.” Americans have the nerve to call it that and taking the credit of what the original NSX did in motor sport. This car never get the hype of what the original NSX had. Dealers back then are hesitant to sell an NSX and just keep it as a collection while this car is already fading away. We don’t live in a world where we are out of petrol and start driving electric motors just yet. Make an advance car with all the latest technology but don’t call it an NSX. That’s like putting an electric motor on a proper V8 mustang. Take to every Japanese car enthusiasts what they think of the “American NSX.” I bet they will all be disgusted.

    It's December of 2017 and I now am just starting to truly appreciate the scope of what this car encompasses! It's now my daily driver, and what a drive it is! I still paid more than I wished to pay, but I'm kinda greedy like that. However, I didn't pay anywhere close to MSRP so I'm cool with that and know that "I" don't have to worry about getting stuck somewhere because of reliability issues! Yeah...I waited along time before pulling the trigger on this, coulda got a 911 turbo but already been there..done that..

  • @The_Opinion_of_Matt
    @The_Opinion_of_Matt Před 7 lety +70

    People always want to say Japanese cars and bikes don't have any character, any personality. Every other video review I've seen of the new NSX has said this about it, but in none of them did I see the NSX driven the same way that Chris Harris drove this one (drifting). The may not be as flamboyant as a Ferrari or Lambo, but it has personality none the less. A Camry's personality is similar to a staid, reliable person who always shows up for work early and never makes a scene or disappoints anyone. Others make an argument, especially about bikes, that certain brands don't have any personality because they never break. Well, if somethings personality trait is that it always breaks, this is like a friend who is always asking for money or help doing things.

      @Jeyeyeyey Před 3 lety +3

      Neither looks, mechanics, philosophy or what made those cars so wonderful and why its fans loved them was passed on to the successors. And who knows maybe that was a smart business decision. But one thing im sure of though is that neither inspire you with that certain indescribable thing the predecessors did when you laid your eyes on them.

    What a machine. If you think about it, what Honda has done with the NSX is crazy. There is no physical connection whatsoever between its steering wheel and brake pedal and their respective functions and yet they perfectly feel as if there is. What kind of engineering depth they must have had to achieve that? They took future technology known to ruin driving experience like hybrid drivetrain, brake by wire, etc and made a true sports car out of it that is every bit as characterful and feelsome as the best driver's cars (like the Mk1 NSX) from the past. Its price may be only a fraction of the Porsche 918 but it's even more advanced than the Porsche in a number of ways. For example, its steer by wire system has better feel than the electric steering found in the Porsche, which goes to show who's got better engineering background. If the majority of car buying population were real car enthusiasts, not badge snobs, NSXs would be flying out of showroom floors while 918s would be sitting quitely in Porsche showrooms for months.

    I was just starting to get into the car scene and I only knew a few cars. About that time, I didn't even know R34 and GTR Premium was even related.
    So I was in my friend's house playing Real Racing 3 (I know, but it's the only game I can play) and it always struck us what car was parked outside at the front of his neighbor's house. Note that, in the Philippines, you'd rarely see "fun" cars. Most of the cars here are SUV's, public transport jeepneys, multicabs, Toyota Vios'. Hell, I've only seen almost 10 coupé's here on the roads.
    I never knew I was in the vicinity of a legendary car. The NSX.
