@@godwinehidiamen9904 If the sleeve head is too big for the armhole then you can either gather it between the notches before sewing it on (gives a cute puff sleeve effect), or you can shorten the vertical line that connects the shoulder to the bicep.
If your sleeve head is too short for the armhole, then you can either make the sleeve head taller or increase the width of the bicep measurement to account for the difference. I hope that helps!

Instead of pattern paper I've been using wrapping paper with a inch grid on back. It makes things so much easier and I have a use for the ugly wrapping papers I get from multipacks. It's a win-win in my book.

Hello Priscilla. Firstly, thank you for this video. Sleeves have always been a mystery to me. You have given a masterclass in laying a pattern for sleeves. I am grateful.
Secondly, thank you for not rambling. I appreciate that you get straight to the video. I do not want or need chit chat. I just want to learn so I am very glad to see that this is what you do so well.
Thirdly, thank you for using regular tools that most people will have, with the exception of the pattern maker. I have my own and it is the most used tool in my dress making tool box.
And finally, thank you for sharing your skills with us. For me you are one of the best teachers on CZcams.

i've seen a lot of posts on here that have also helped me to understand the potential issues i may run into relative to this video regarding ease, seam allowance, etc. BUT, by far, this was the most clear-cut and defined tutorial for individuals like me looking for a general understanding on how to not only draft a basic sleeve pattern, but how to use my existing knowledge and "play" with the pattern to perfect my technique. i've only really attempted a "formal" sleeve block pattern once and it took so long that I still hv the bodice piece waiting to be finished off in my sewing room to this day! with this tutorial, i can really try and master drafting a block pattern first, and then transferring to muslin and work from there to use on my bodice. i've learned many a sewing technique by trial and error and it has been really the only way i'm able to retain anything anyway. but, complicated or hard to follow tutorials just make it more aggravating.
MANY THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO TUTORIAL! can't wait to try it out :)

I so appreciate you. I'm am an average sewer but I believe I can maybe pull this off. I hope it will work with patterns that don't have sleeves? I did watch your dress tutorial but I am unsure if I can make a dress block. I'd love to make my own clothes. I'm not the greatest in math. Do you have a tutorial that explains all those tools you are using...the measuring tools? Perhaps I can buy those, pattern paper & muslin & try to create dress block w/sleeves. I love wrap around skirts too. And finally attempt the mermaid style skirt tutorial you have. You've given me HOPE. I desperately want to make my own clothes for sake of modesty & bright colored original clothes. Thanks so much. If you can let me know names of measuring tools & where to purchase I'd be grateful. Thank u..
U really make the patterns too easy to understand then to do. Plz, make to us how to manipulate darts in dresses. I watched many videos of it but i do believe if u do it, it will be easy as the sleeve pattern!

You were at 199k when I hit subscribe. Yay for being # 200k :-) Thanks for this. You are one of the few folks showing how to make things without tracing old clothes. Truly appreciated!

I just want to make myself a shirt but I haven't seen an easy and understandable tutorial like yours. Please consider making a male t-shirt pattern drafting. Thanks in anticipation.
