That is one of the most historical thing I have ever seen the AI do(except dates). The USA fought for Panama's independence.

Aactually, only Mustafa Kemal renamed Istanbul, so, as long as it's Ottoman Empire and not Turkey, it should be Constantinople and not Istanbul.
It's more like both of those names were used in Ottoman times. Mustafa Kemal banned to use Constantinople.
there was no banning or renaming . there was no official name for the city , and istanbul was the most common one , new goverment deputies voted for istanbul. and i like kavala cookies
Well, most of the Turkish population called it Istanbul, even before they conquered the city, but the official name was Constantinople so that is what it should be called on the game...

Anonymesh No it's not. And Konstantiniyye is not in Turkish Aytuğ Berk Şengül. It's the arabic name of Konstantinopolis therefore Constantinople could be used for era before 1923. To end any kind of dilemma Mustafa Kemal adopted the name İstanbul and banned the usage of variations of Constantinople.
A bit of a historical inaccuracy here, because Constantinople was not officially renamed "Istanbul" until 1930.

Actually, it works a little bit differently. Those are the costs of salaries to clergy. And they do pay more taxes if they get promoted from the poor.

Dat Bowie Constantinople is a beautiful name and has power to it but Istanbul? Sounds like an irrelevant village in western Mexico

This is the difference between imperialism and normal governing. In an imperial possession, only the resources matter not the people, thus, profit. In national territory, education and stuff makes things less profitable. Most people don't know what the word "Imperial" means anymore.
Loving the series. Can you play HoI3 after this one? I have no idea how it's played so it should be interesting, at least for me.
Greece should change Great Power status from silly things such as prestige, economy, industrialisation and military power, and instead use the greatest measure of power known to man: Talent at Basketball. I think the US and Spain wouldn't mind either.

When you develop a navy for yourself of some (nominally) advanced ships over the Ottomans, you should always park it in the Bosphorus Straights so that the Ottomans can't bring their armies across from Asia. Especially if you have Russia as an ally. They can't move through against you.

i played this game a lot but still havent understand how the economy works there one thing in particular that idont understant.in most of my games when i hover over the economy thing to see my expnses and my gains(?) it says that i loose money but at the same time next to the money where it shows if you loose or make money it says that i make money WTF
