Learning to use such a small tent has taken some time/trial and error. Three weeks of use on the BMT taught me to put my empty pack under my feet and how to manage putting away my quilt in the morning to avoid soaking up wall condensation.
That’s a good question. It started at 120 cm but I had to lower it and then raise it a bit. Not sure where it ended up, sorry. I hope that experience will reduce the fiddle factor. I want to like this tent.
I was curious so I just set it up again. Pole length of 110 cm worked well, but every pitch will probably depend on the flatness of each piece of ground, which is my experience with other tents.

Very cool tent. I've been eyeballing some of the tarptent tents lately. What's the first trip you're going to take the new tent out on?
I am planning a thru hike of the Benton MacKaye trail in a few months.
