Rap in kpop, all started because of African people, and then the Koreans also incorporated it into Kpop. Regardless, even in Korea and in the media they are considered to be Kpop idols.

They never were under risk of disband, it was really a fake rumour. They bring a lot of money to the company since they do a lot concerts overseas. During the pandemic, DSP experienced financial problems, which is why RBW bought part of the company.

When you asked me what group has done their concept change successfully. Kard is my immediate answer. Their music has matured at a natural pace as they've matured themselves. No sudden whiplash concept changes. They've done it in a way that just feels right. I love this song so much
KARD is the most underappreciated K-Pop group of this century, they've been doing some seriously great work, but so far none of their comebacks have gotten the recognition they deserve. I think they are incredibly successful and there is no other group like KARD, there is no other music similar to their music, they are unique.
No matter how they underrated they are they still one of the best groups in this era plus all their song is catchy
Most of their songs are heavily inspired by south american music, so there definitely is music like it out there, just not really in kpop as it's not a common style of music in Korea. It makes sense for BM as his father lived in brazil for several years and he can speak spanish and portugese, probably got a lot of music inspo from there. But naturally this is not something that will blow up in Korea, as their music is undoubtedly more catered towards a western international audience.
Their debut was moombahton, they've used reggaeton, EDM and tropical house. Some kpop idols or groups dabble in some of these like tropical house or reggaeton, but rarely in such a clear cut way as KARD where its throughout the whole song. Combine that with a LOT of english lyrics that many Koreans don't understand, and songs that are often sexy or even downright sexual in nature. It's no surprise honestly.
There have been plenty of succesfull Co-Ed groups in kpop, but if all your songs are catered to a different audience it won't easily get you wins. Atleast they still are succesfull, especially in South america, and are enjoying themselves.

@@Cloverfairyfhllit's hard to explain but it's a concept on internet which reminds me of SCP (idk if you know it)
Anyways it's like a creepypasta that says that sometimes the world just glitches and you fall in the backrooms, so sort of parallel world which is for the majority immense corridors with yellow floors and walls (if you search in Google image that's what you will find)
So there are different levels and once you're in the backrooms you don't have that much chances to survive- like there are monsters and stuff
And the first "creepypasta" that made this story famous says that a society archived to make a portal (that we see in the mv) and those videos (which are like a little serie on CZcams) explained that some scientists were trying to understand how the backrooms work
It became a sort of meme on internet, you can find a lot of videos about it
If you like creepy stuff like SCP and creepypasta in general you might find it interesting

This group is insanely talented, I still can't understand how KARD doesn't attend Korean music shows and competitions and get their first wins! Why is South Korea keeping such a talented group in the background, they should introduce them to the world, there should be no one who doesn't know KARD!
They do attend music shows, but they never get enough votes because boy groups and girl groups are so favored 😓 It is unusual because you would think that having males and females in a group would attract MORE fans because there is someone to fawn over for both fangirls and fanboys. Plus, their music and chemistry is like fire 🔥💗
I think it's partly the Latin inspiration and partly them being co-ed. Since most companies want boy groups to appeal to girls and girl groups to appeal to guys in terms of being "available" for their fans, I think Korean fans see a co-ed group as having the potential to be dating each other or not being romantically available to them. That's just my thoughts.
Kard is a Global Group. When they Debuted, they first did Global Concerts, before Releasing their first MV.
