my dad bought Falcon 4.0 when it released, and he would fly with me sitting on his knee and he would help me steer and work the weapon systems, when i was a bit older i started flying myself, becoming quite good. then around the time when decent laptops started to come out, my dad bought one and a second joystick, as well as a second copy of 4.0 and we would play together over LAN. seems like forever ago now.
The song was written and performed by Chris Carter, who was the Vice President of Lead Pursuit Inc which developed the game. I put together the video and the track just "worked" with the images really well. Glad you guys liked it, I wanted to convey the idea of the drama of a read Viper before jumping into the simulation.
Damn. Memories. My dad played 4.0 in 1999. He read the manual first. He bought me allied force when I was 16 and I did the same. The air siren with the lead pursuit logo threw me back 10 years ago. :) I asked for sorround sound speakers 3 months after on my 17th birthday. That combined with the joystick he gave me on christmas you would hear afterburner and radio chatter blasting out of my room. I'd wear a jacket with wings on it and ray bans to school my senior year and me and my old man would dvr and watch episodes of the series dogfights on the history channel and drink beer and talk about duke cunningham, von richtoven and all the greats.
@Resunactor - I named the track "The Brink" - I had no idea people liked it, perhaps I should mix it again, as I rushed the version for the video due to having a million other things to do at the time getting the sim published.
@jeremybear14 Yes I have, thankfully. After switching to the A/A or A/G modes, you can switch the right MFD back to the HSI by clicking on the A/A or A/G toggle buttons on the dash. You can't use the keyboard shortcuts because they're not bound to the toggle buttons for some reason.
@PRARRCGriffon26 thank you a lot i'm still learning how to do things before my joystick arrives so currently i've figured out how to use all weapons except harm but though i know how to use most weapons i'm not very good at them might get better if i had a joystick. any way thanks for the info good luck in all your campaigns.
If anyone is still interested I found some old video footage and a later mix of The Brink a few days ago - you can find it on my channel or here directly: czcams.com/video/VKdIqw5bDF0/video.html
@Resunactor Download the video's audio. Google "get audio from youtube" and use one of the first sites. YOu can convert it to mp3 and other format. hope this helps.
I play falcon BMS... However after you are in A-A or A-G mode just press the A-A or A-G buttons below your HUD once or twice and it should go back to normal buddy :) and also pressing "c" in BMS changes from weapon mode back to normal. Good hunting!
I've played this game for three weeks and I'm still not done the training lol. I have figured out how to fly all planes though, on the other hand. I just can't figure out how to switch back to nav mode from A-A or A-G mode.
Officially, you're only supposed to be able to fly the F16C Blocks 50/52 and 40/42. However, with some manipulation of the files, you can fly any jet (except an AWACS plane for some reason). You only get an F16C Block 50 cockpit though.
If you want to play with F-16s and play death matches with fast airplanes you want to buy the Falcon AF4.0 or if you want just play with f-16 but without deathmatches, only mission. you may want to buy MFS Acceleration.
which is better Falcon 4.0 Allied Force or the best version of lock on? dunno which one 2 get?????? just wonna get the one which is closer 2 a real thing!!!!! any help?
@PRARRCGriffon26 saw your post about not knowing how to switch back to nav mode if you have learned how in the 3 years after this post please post it for a new falcon pilot please.

Do you still have the original audio? You should upload it somewhere.
I played this game growing up, was horrible at it, but i had fun. This video is bringing back so many memories lol
I edited this intro movie for the sim.

Hi, I've just got this game and it's amazing, so the intro! If you or someone has the song could you please send it to me? Thanks

@cne4ever35 you can download the video and then convert it to mp3.
@wildstrawberry1 I can send the manual or you can just look for it online.

Music sounds like heavily inspired by U2.
@PRARRCGriffon26 It s a pretty hard game!
LOL the part of the video between 2:10 and 2:20 shows and A-7 attacking with a Maverick missile. Nothing to do with the F-16.
This was so much better than vanilla Falcon 4.0 intro...
Is this seriously the opening sequence? (I'm just used to them using gameply graphics for intro sequences.)
i am sorry. I don't know this song
