They have previously released 'Lunar shift' and 'Aqua shift' before which follow the same style as this 'Stellar shift' controller but for some reason I wasn't aware of them until after I released this video.
I don't mind the grey underside. It's possible (although I hope not) that the finish isn't as durable and that's why it's not on the bottom. But it could also just be for a bit of visual contrast. Anyway, I have ordered one and it will be my first special edition controller since the Xbox One Day One Edition Controller from 2013 - still works perfect too!
Just bought one...waiting for D4 to finish downloading...love the design...agree with you on the wrap around design...and even a black back would've been better...always thought a horizontal wheel button specifically for strafing

According to my experience,the XBOX's Special Edition Controller is a real limited version controller in my country, because the previous limited version controllers were out of stock for a long time soon after the release, such as 'Lunar shift' and 'Aqua shift' ... it 's difficult to buy them. The global business strategy of Xbox is really lagging behind.😂
Roughly a year later I finally ordered this controller here in Germany. 😉 It's freaking almost sold out by now and I really hope the dealer's not faking and is still shipping it for the discount price of only 53 €!
Great video, gives a really nice look at the controller! You mention that the color shifting is something new that we haven't seen from XBOX, that is not accurate. This is the third different color in their "Shift" line of controllers, all of which have this color shifting iridescent look. The first was Lunar Shift, then came Aqua Shift. They also all have that same swirly pattern on the rubber grip.
@@BarbsterFilms Absolutely no worries! It was just a minor thing I though I would point out. I will say that the other two have a more muted shift, the two colors are more similar than this one.
Just got this controller today it looks so beautiful in person love it my only problem with it is that it only has side grips , my design lab controllers always have side and back grips idk why they didn’t put rubberized grips on the whole back instead of just the side it would’ve been 10/10 for me with both side and back grips but with just the side grips I’ll give it an 8/10 cuz they could’ve just gave the whole back of the controller rubber grips but it’s only rubber on the side not back

I don't get why mentioning it's wireless is a thing because everyone knows and expects that. But yeah absolutely love this design and color. Purple/blue hues like this are one of my favorite things ever. I was sad I missed out on the Aqua Shift controller but this is way better
The grip does help keep the controller from sliding around so much and them slipping so easily is how I dropped mine. Got bad drift on the left thumbstick and my girlfriend surprised me with this one today! It feels better in he hand overall. The d pad feels better and the bumpers and triggers transition nicely so it's more comfortable then the last gen. The capture button is an awesome addition if you like making clips! Go for it my dude
Only £42 in the uk if you buy it from the Italy xbox store website if you use a fee free card like chase, The irony is that even if you bought it from the UK xbox site it still comes from the same EU warehouse,
I just got this controller today and I am wondering if its normal that I need to press the Xbox logo a bit harder to turn on the controller even if the button is already depressed the controller does not turn on unless extra force is added.
Does this not have a built in mic yet? Anyone know why not? I mean my 7 year old Nvidia shield controller has one which is so nice to user voice while using CZcams and stuff. Any options ? Just recently got a series x ... Frustrated by this

I am now debating whether I should cancel my amazon pre order of Xbox Remix Green Controller cost me $89 cdn (100 with tax or $74 USD) or this Steller Shift one which is $69 cdn (78 with tax or $58 USD)
I put in rechargeable AA batteries and the controller doesn't charge them (you have to change them via an actual AA charger). If you want to keep the controller changed and not have to take out the batteries each time to charge them then I'd recommend getting an actual xbox rechargeable battery which I show at 2:42
I just bought it. I expect to have it six months and then it will break like the other two that broke six months apart from each other previously. Xbox controllers are garbage these days. And I treat everything perfectly electronic wise so it’s not being bashed around.

Can confirm its not as durable the paint wore off one of my older ones just from excessive use so literally just rubbing off on my hands

How does it compare to the normal Series S/X controllers? Do the rubberised grips have any give?
It's holding up really well with no marks or anything after using it a lot! And there isn't any give in the grips :)

No usb c cable.An oversight and deal breaker for me.Turtle Beach version comes with a cable.So its Turtle Beach then.
