Adam Pearce hey thats why they are in school so they can learn! and becareful cause comments like that offend people like me who have a passion for classics. ok?
Gotta love teachers that can outwit an entire class if they want to. I had a few of those in my school too. They gain so much respect from their students with 'outside of the box' jokes like that. Epic win.
people are debating about the fate of the violin like it was alive and had rights lol.....Calm down, no need to explain about how you were there or knew the people involved....
I don't know anyone involved, but I do know that you can buy really cheap violins that look upon casual glance like bona fide instruments and and are more or less playable.
I'm sure that violin was some cheap-o you could buy at any store for sixty bucks. I doubt a student would use a nice violin for an April fools joke. And for sixty bucks, I'm positive that it was totally worth it to see everyone in class crap their pants :D
It's a shame there are not more teachers with fun personalities like this guy! Teaching is already an underpaid, undervalued, and unappreciated profession in this country. Sometimes it just helps to have a little fun with your students.
That's a coincidence Fatty because I stuck YOUR flute in my .............except I did it at the "Eastern U.S. Music Camp" when it was at Bard College just outside of Kingston NY way back in 1981.
my hs band teacher used to throw shit during the last rehearsal before a big concert, major competition, or homecoming halftime show...especially if kids were talking or playing badly...lol. he used to throw podiums, batons, chairs, or anything near him and freak out the students. then he'd stomp away leaving the room dead-silent for several minutes. everyone would shape up quickly and we'd have a great performance. funny thing is he was the most popular and beloved teacher at the school. miss mr. JT.
It seems like the only fun teachers I had were mostly in my electives classes, like my choir teachers. I can name two fun teachers I had for required fields off the top of my head. My 10th grade geometry teacher (he looked, acted, and even sounded just like Adrian Monk!), and my 12th grade English, which was honestly more like a Lit. class. All we did was read British Lit. It was awesome.
You all don't get it. It has nothing to do with the violin, imagine your superior freaking out like that to the point of breaking something. You would crap your pants.
A shorter version of this starting with the stop talking yell and ending with the high five has been giuin around various channels. It was good to see the full thing at last
TL;DR they're playing a really hard piece, don't judge lmao For all the people looking to comment about the orchestra being bad~This song is the Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky. The piece is almost only played by colleges and professional ensembles because... 1) It's extremely difficult to play some of the runs 2) It's 20 minutes long. High schoolers don't (usually) play 20 minute long pieces, they don't have the patience. While they're definitely playing the piece terribly, I don't think that makes them an awful orchestra. It would be incredibly impressive for a high school to play this piece well. They could even be sightreading it for all we know. Either way, it would be more the fault of the instructor anyways for choosing such a challenging piece, not the orchestra as a whole. Link timestamped to the section they're trying to play: czcams.com/video/_Od7gx3Dc-U/video.html
That prank was sure well orchestrated
I admire you good sir.
+Luqman Nazery LOL
+Luqman Nazery
That was a rather nice instrumental break!
+Luqman Nazery YEAH!
God damn it barb!
I thought the prank was that he was making them play so badly
Same
I honestly thought he’d given everyone different music, or in a different key, but they were actually just bad.
Same
None of you could play this piece.
Terry Baker same
That teacher is so Violint
Boooooooo ;)
get out
Luqman Nazery *Hangs head in shame and walks out*
omg
I see what you did there.
Funny when someone was like "Oh my god....!" in the silence.
omg i know😂😂😂
I just broke your violin, April Fools. wait what..
+AzraJay Its just a prank dude!
correct
AzraJay the teacher and the kid made an agreement because his violin was old
it sounds like that girl is gonna cry in a panic
*beats child to death with a trumpet* "do you know what day it is today?" *with the childs last breath* "april fools..."
*class breaks out laughing and leave the room with the dead child on the ground*
That's how my mother died, she was only 10 years old. RIP 😭
charlieme5150 ...Okay then... so um... she had you at age 10...
@@myapapaya2317 No stupid! She passed away in 2007, I'm in my teens right now.
@@myapapaya2317 he wanted to make it as a joke, apparently
This made me burst out laughing
This wasn't a prank. He just spotted a spider on the wall. That we can all understand.
Prander5x5 And then another spider on his knee.
I thought the joke was the diabolical music he made them play
Same😐
Adam Pearce hey thats why they are in school so they can learn! and becareful cause comments like that offend people like me who have a passion for classics. ok?
I thought the joke was "play it faster this time" it the worst thing you can say to one of us music students
lol ikr! every time ms.soccamono told us to play it faster i would freak out and miss a note
Gotta love teachers that can outwit an entire class if they want to. I had a few of those in my school too. They gain so much respect from their students with 'outside of the box' jokes like that.
Epic win.
I like to think he is rigid as a board 364 days a year, doesn't even smile, just to make this prank work better.
> Complains about broken violin
> Probably cracked 4 iPhone screens in the last 1 year
Um... Violins are vvvveeerrry expensive like verry
Violins are WAY more expensive than phones...
we dont know the context though, that violin might be old and his prof will replace it for free
kudos, we need more good teachers like this
basically every music teacher
people are debating about the fate of the violin like it was alive and had rights lol.....Calm down, no need to explain about how you were there or knew the people involved....
***** I know, right?
lol
I don't know anyone involved, but I do know that you can buy really cheap violins that look upon casual glance like bona fide instruments and and are more or less playable.
it was probably one of those $25 things you can get on Amazon.
Fuck you!!!!! #ViolinsLivesMatterToo
I'm sure that violin was some cheap-o you could buy at any store for sixty bucks. I doubt a student would use a nice violin for an April fools joke. And for sixty bucks, I'm positive that it was totally worth it to see everyone in class crap their pants :D
No, for $60 it probably won't even make noise, so maybe $200-$300 because that violin sounded really bad or they just have a really bad concert master
Ok good cuz I play the violin and I was like NOOOO
tech nichy No, they probably got it off of craigslist or something. You can definitely get a crappy one for that much
yeah, i know a guy who got a $100 sax that was really shitty, but it played.
Seriously?! My tenor was 2300$
It's a shame there are not more teachers with fun personalities like this guy! Teaching is already an underpaid, undervalued, and unappreciated profession in this country. Sometimes it just helps to have a little fun with your students.

"...Burrito...."
lolol
That's a coincidence Fatty because I stuck YOUR flute in my .............except I did it at the "Eastern U.S. Music Camp" when it was at Bard College just outside of Kingston NY way back in 1981.
A music teacher isn't stupid enough to do this with a real violin. It was obviously a fake or previously broken, and the kid must have been in on it.
(Oh sh't! A camera. There goes my career! Gotta think of something fast...)
"Hey, kid. Do you know what day it is today?"
What if he was being serious then thought, "I fucked up. Oh, that's right! It's April Fools Day!"
The violin was already broken after being dropped the weeks prior to this, the student used it to prank his class.
damn that orchestra sucks.
*nods in approval*
tech nichy SALUTES AFFIRMITAVELY
thats not nice:(
Jocelyn Gutierrez yes well nor is the world
Jocelyn Gutierrez I bet 5 people in that room were actually in tune tbh
I keep rewatching because that beginning piece was just so damn beautiful

Sounds like a Grade A douchebag.
And then, Whiplash was born.
Honestly thought he smashed it on the kids face
Dude.
My teacher did this with a cell phone and I jumped out of my seat.
The way he kneed the bow was epic, I may use that in a youtube poop...
you can tell just how awesome this prank was by listening to how quiet it got in between the violin smash and the bow snap. Coulda heard a pin drop
Our teacher did this one year, except with a clarinet. I guess now I know where he got the idea.
not much of a prank, that guy lost his violin
It was probably a cheap violin. Nobody is going to destroy something that is at least more than 100$ Probably the kid was into it too.
Judging by the music, the violins must've been fake too.
Hence the "obviously at practice" part. I've been at enough band practices to know that we generally suck until we actually perform.
He must be a fun teacher
Last year my band director did the same thing but with a saxophone and she broke a chair in the process.
clearly no one on here understands what April fool's day is or the fact that the kid was in on it or the fact that it was a fake violin of no value
in 1st or 3rd grade my teacher told the class that spring break was cancelled but it was an april fool's prank
I like how he folds his arms like a little kid XD
my orchrastra teacher is like this he threw a chair at a kid

Awesome instructor right there. What a great sense of humor. :)
“We have an out of tune player”.
Don't tell me it's you Elmer Fudd
I play violin. The only thing I want to know is who's paying for that, because there not cheap.
my thoughts exactly
its was a knockoff they bought for cheap just for this prank.
I was hoping this was the case. I have never played a violin, but I still gasped a slight bit when he smashed it.
Probably an extra one and old
Oh cool.
Where's he gonna get another violin from?! They sure don't come cheap!
man i love these kind of teachers
ikr hahahahaha
old comments go brr
I really hope that was a crap violin and not his actual one.
Really great. Keep doing what you're doing!
Awesome teacher.
Was the violin real
April Fools it was a viola not a violin
Way too much sax and violins on youtube.

Why don't they have a life?

You can do a lot of things without the principal knowing, in fact that's how things actually get done at these schools. This guy is hilarious
awesome teacher
He pulled their STRINGS for a minute there.
If you have been in the music program youd know all music teachers are just chill cool ppl
The teacher's "violince" really got the class' attention.
the acting was sooo good he actually got nervous ha!
All teachers should be like this
If only all teachers could have a funny side, just like this one.
coolest teacher
I hope he paid back that child for their instrument.
love how the teacher goes straight in for the high five
I thought that's what really brought it home...
Yeah, he should really keep a Handel on his anger.
There's always that person who ruins a joke! ALWAYS!
coolest music conductor ever
My band teacher does this when it's not April 1st... Ahh good times..
awsome teacher
OMG WHAT A GREAT AND FUN TEACHER! ! !

that stop talking was so passive aggressive
Thanks Jimmy for letting me destroy your instrument in the name of comedy.
That was an awesome April Fool's Day Prank For sure! I'm subbing to you
I would've started balling if I witnessed a music teacher do that to a violin
This is why band is awesome
I like how that one chick called it before the professor asked what day it was...
Violin- 80 dollars. Bow- 50 bucks. Reaction- priceless.
You know what, I actually agree with this. The world just needs to lighten up... by a lot.
The crossing of the arms after gets me.
Teacher of the Year.
That was well orchestrated.
im actually somewhat glad about going to this high school next year.
I'm sure the teacher treated everyone to a big bowl of orange Schubert, after class.
