It makes some sense if every rival died or goes missing. People would find it strange that Taro would be the last person they interacted with the most.
Also, in most murder cases, cops would always look at the partner (or person they like) first as most of the time, it would be them.

Actually the Raibaru's one is not a rumor, it's already confirmed by yandev himself. Raibaru actually wanted to leave the martial arts club from a long time but she can't because of her winstreak, and then she was defeated by Budo. But I think it will be more interesting if the rumor about Raibaru is that she's letting herself to be defeated by Budo so that she can finally quit martial arts :D
