The last of the truly beautiful classic Citroens!

The most fun of any car I’ve ever owned. Keep checking the oil, though. Air-cooled engines run without water, but they do need oil!

    Fantastic cars!
I still take my family on long road trips (10,000 km or more) with our Citroen GS.
We did long trips to Artic Norway, Finland and Sweden twice, in 2017 and in 2014.
We drive all over Europe each year.
    Never had any issues.
Videos from our road trips on my YT page.

Exacly that GSA Special with that blue and a completly blue Interieur was my first car , when I was 18 years old . I had him from 1986 till 1991and it was a car like a good friend. Everything at that car is clever constructed and it was for 65 PS a very fast Car , what gone on a german Highway 180 kmh and a very good go ahead by storm and wind from the side . The aircooled boxerengine sonds like a turbine and was for its time a fantstic engine . That construction looks inside like the engine of a Porsche 911 . I, m from Germany nearliy Wolfsburg, where the VW factory is, and everybody drives here VW . My Family not, we all drives Citroens . My little son has a nice GSA PALLAS C matic in good condition restaured this year and he will drive it next year for his first car too, when he has his drivinglicense.

I am a Citroen fan have had about 5 Gs,s one GSA, I have an earlier 74 GS1220 4 speed manual in my garage, they are great cars and go fast for their engine size, cornering although appears to get a lot of body roll the wheels are stuck to the ground and will hang on. I have had the semi auto too but the manual gearboxes are fine, if you get one check the front bumper area for rust especially the gsa it has a foam file that gets water in it and will rot out the whole section, luckily if you can get another front end they bolt off and on. To me great looking little cars enjoy

I bought a 3 year old '83 with 19k miles. Had a lot of failures under warranty and the clearcoat was peeling badly. No power but ride quality was great and it had a decent amount of space. Very comfortable. Always wanted a CX.

My father use to change car frequently, and so had:
FIAT 850, Warburg, Chrysler 160, Volvo 144, Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Lanser, Citroen GSA, Mazda 323F, Daihatsu Sirion.
GSA was the most impressive by far!
Suspension, brakes, behavior on the road. Non was even close to GSA!
I advice you, if you have one keep it!
Unfortunatly, Citroen does not exist anymore.

0:31 - That is one of the most unusual instrument binnacles that I have ever seen! What are the controls on the two drums behind the steering wheel?

The left one is wipers, indicators and headlights, the right one has many buttons for stuff like hazard lights, high/dipped beams, rear window heater/wiper, etc.

I'd be a happy man if I can find one, much less one in good original condition. I've never seen one in the United States.

Very few GSs were sold to the US, as far as I know. Some probable reasons are, first, that in the US they seem to have quite a similar suspension system (at least back in the 1970s); second, because the US has always had plenty of cars from a category similar or equivalent to the GS; third, because the GS was probably a bit small for the size of the cars there in the US; and fourth and last, the difficulty to get spare pieces from such a long distance.
That all said, we still have our original 1978 GS Pallas (not a second-hand car bought over the recent years); the only car of its kind surviving around here (a privilege to me, as you may imagine), and such a rare thing that there is always someone sticking their eyes on her as I drive pass X)
