  • Took the Tracer out for a test ride while my MT10 was being serviced. I quite liked it.
    Thanks to Paul and the guys at Arnolds Yamaha for the loan of the bike, great guys to deal with.

    Wow, amazed at the interest in my little vid. ###Music on vid covers wind noise as no external micro used sorry #### had not planned to make this film hence little research on specs before riding. I simply took the bike out to fill time while waiting for my MT10 to be serviced. If you want to ride this demo contact Paul at Arnold's Motorcycles Burton on Trent England. Think he can sell you a new one from stock now. I bought from there and recommend them.

      Well done, you did a better job than many "reviewers"! There's no problem with a bit of music edited over the actual riding, nobody wants wind noise and there's always the mute button if peeps don't like the music choice. More importantly, it allows you to concentrate on your riding, then you can chat away about the bike when you've pulled over for a "nose around" the bike ...or a pee behind a tree!

      These home-made videos are one of the only ways we as potential buyers can learn about different bikes from an unbiased perspective. U.S. dealers rarely offer test-rides due to insurance and legal issues.

Cruised really comfortably without any bad buffeting, and f). I felt really fresh even though I was on it nearly all day. Brilliant all-rounder. And great value to boot!

    Just watched this after your reply on the Tracer700 video, looks like a nice bike to ride at “normal” road speeds. I am quite a bit shorter than you at 5’ 9” and having sat on one at a dealers I would want it fitted with a lowering kit just for peace of mind but it is a lot lighter than my GSX650 and easier to move around so it is a definite contender for my next bike. Thanks again

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  Před 3 lety +2

      Understand about the lowering, my wife is 5ft 6 and likes to be able to flat foot a bike just to make slow manoeuvring easier. Good luck with whatever you get, don't think you will have many issues with a Yamaha. Cheers for now.

    I wish there was a hard luggage option on the MT10. Don't like that small TFT screen. I do also wish the MT10 had a centre stand. Nice bike the 900 GT, and I have had a go on the MT09, but oh Richard, I could never get used now, to not having that magnificent engine on the MT10. Stuck in a rut maybe, but what a rut!

    I’m seriously considering one of these. Only just realised you’d tried one. I thought this was going to be the first review that didn’t mention the buffeting, but there it was at the end. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker but, being a tourer you would think that would be fairly high on the list when developing the bike. I may just have to give one a go.

    Hi. Great vid! I currently own a great British bike. A 2003 Triumph Trophy. It is mint as there are no Triumph dealerships in Canada, and I need reliability. It has never let me down. I was thinking of the traced for my next touring rig. My question to you is,I like to tour with my wife in tow, and I like to have my feet close to the deck. Does it handle the highway well? Is the buffeting really that bad? The last thing I want is to be blown across the highway! That is probably the only reason from investigating this bike further.

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi thanks for watching, I like to tour but my wife rides her own Triumph 675 Street so its a little difficult for me to judge its two up capabilities. As it is on the lighter side of touring bikes it probably wont be as planted in cross winds as say a Goldwing, or Pan. it would certainly be easier to handle and more fun. Think they have lengthen the rear swing arm for more stability. Unless you are under 5ft 6" dont think you will have any problems getting your feet down. As with all Yams reliability should be great (I've had no issues with my MT10 in 10,000 miles. Grab a test ride if you can.

    Great 'First Impressions' ride mate! Sorry to hear the heat you have taken for the music.I think the grey would have looked great if they hadn't painted the side panels white...what's that all about? Your MT-10 looks great... why not do the side panels in grey or black? To be honest, I think it looks much better in the blue. Looks a lot of bike for the money IMHO. Incidentally, there is a comfort seat available, that is much more padded...but narrower at the front to give the same distance to the ground...(if you are thinking of a change) Sub'd and will check out your other videos.

    Thanks for posting the video. This is on my short list for my next bike. Yamaha just released the price in the states, so the GT is $12,999. Not bad at all considering the cruise, TFT display, hard bags, etc. One question, I am just a click above 6 foot tall, at 6'2'' were you cramped at all? Thanks in advance, and stay safe.

      @Banditmanuk  Před 6 lety

      John Pizzurro Yamaha are offering allot for the money in my opinion. My MT/FZ 10 was under £10,000 two years ago. Think at 6ft tall this could be ideal for you, probably seat in the higher position (wish I could have tried that in the short test) Its certainly not cramped. Fun, practical, reasonably light and handles well.

    • @johnmorgan4405

      Of course. Currently on a 2008 BMW R1200R. Great bike, but things are starting to fail on it (ABS), and out of warranty costs for a BMW, especially in the U.S., are pretty expensive. I was considering another R1200R, and an S1000XR, but I think I am out of the BMW business for a while. I am also looking at the V-Strom 1000, and the Kawasaki Versys 1000. Heavily leaning toward the V-Strom. I had a 2002, and with a few simple performance mods, that motor is super fun and sounds great. I like a bike that can do a lot of things well but not specialize in just one thing. Hope that helps.

    Hmmm. Probably too much zest and hooligan have been removed from the CP3 in this bike to be anywhere as exciting on a daily basis than the MT-09 on which it is based. That's the thing, seems unless a person buy a European bike that's been called some kind of "tourer", then one has to expect any Japanese tourer is going to be neutered compared to the models upon which they are based.
    I'd rather take a straight up hooligan machine and modify its ergonomics and suspension to be more touring oriented, without changing the power whatsoever or adding weight.

      Yep I am tall but still comfortable on the MT10 which actually is quite roomy when compared to the S1000R, Tuono V4 or the Triumph Speed Triple. For leg comfort I would take the Tracer over the MT10 but I still love the performance of the 10 and am prepared to put up with a little discomfort. Thanks for watching, sorry about the music 😉

      Hi I do get the complaints about the music but as I explained on the pinned post I didn't then have a microphone set up inside me helmet so all you got was horrible wind noise over 20mph..... no bike noise.

      Sorry David, is an old vid before I had an in helmet microphone. Believe me the wind noise is even worse than the appalling sound track. The music owner of this vid claimed all the ad revenue from this vid and that cost me over £100.00 on this vid.

      @@MrPepper312 I've no idea why CZcams keeps recommending this vid, full explanation of why the rubbish music is there is on the pinned tweet but as there was no in helmet microphone anything over 25mph was just a roar of wind noise and I would just have had a mass of other complaints about that.
      To make things worse when this channel montiterized last year the music owner claimed the vid. The vid isn't a representation of what we now do check out the latest MT10 vid, plenty of bike noise and no music.
      Sorry you are not happy, much work has taken place to try and improve the quality of what I make and put up for free on this channel. I'm proud of what we produced in our Picos Tour in 2019 and hope you don't see this as a representation of what we currently do. Best regards

    That's not the GT. That's just the Tracer 900. The GT only has one color. Black tank, silver side plastics, and a blue/purple accents and rims. The GT has standard paint matched bags. The Tracer 900 does not. Just wanted to let you know.

I'm sure there would be more complaints about the horrendous wind noise above 20mph which was all you could hear on the original recording.
