I decided that I’m tired of wearing tighter clothing, and prefer flowing fabric. I also can’t stand synthetics, so I’m making my own draped garments by dyeing my own fabric and using scarf buckles, sweater clips, etc. Your pareo looks like a 50 inch square, perhaps? I never thought I would geek out over fashion videos like this, but I have to say that this is inspiring. how did you do the one on the right at 6:30 ?
She shows on the left how to do it...you fold the scarf double so that the front edges meet in the middle - tie knots on the shoulders about half the way from the front edge to the folded edge, so that there's space for your arms to go through, put your arms into those holes, and knot the front corners. You can see it best in 6:32.

OK, for the "more coverage":
You make three knots in the scarf, one for each shoulder and then in the front to close it up. It might work better if you do this on the floor. Fold the scarf/sarong/fabric in double so that the front edges of the scarf meet in the middle. That is the front opening of the dress. Now, estimate enough space for your arms and tie the shoulder knots on both sides of this front opening. Lift the thing from the shoulder knots, and put it on.
I think you can see it best in 6:32. The upper edge of the scarf goes from front knot to shoulder knot, under arm, shoulder knot at the back, over back, the other shoulder knot, under arm, shoulder knot in front and front knot again. It's a bit like a chiton (google it) except that the opening is in front and not on the side.
For the vest - fold the scarf/sarong/fabric in two. You should have two corners in one of your hands, and hold the scarf from the middle with the other hand. Put your hands together and tie the corners to the middle. Put your hands through the holes, so that the knot is in your neck, and there you have it. You can google "scarf vest how to", to see a lot of tutorials, images and videos on how to do it.
