  • Matt Adams recaps an historic and incredible US Open Championship! Bryson DeChambeau wins his 2nd US Open in dramatic fashion down the stretch getting up and down from the bunker on 18 when he had to. Rory McIlroy's inability to close down the stretch cost him another Major Championship. Matty recaps it all as we try to unpack what was a Sunday golf will never forget.

    My guess is that if Bryson lost he would have congratulated Rory! Too bad Rory just left totally absorbed in himself. It is sad that Rory and many others take the game so seriously they seem not to enjoy the competition and what level they play at. Bryson admitted in interviews that he now realizes that there is more to life than golf! With that he seems to be in the moment and enjoying every moment of the competition and playing the best players in the world. That is a gem to live your life from! What an inspiration for others!

  • @Khaladas
    @Khaladas Před 11 dny +1

    Bryson absolutely went out and got this one, but Rory definitely stumbled to the end, just too much pressure I guess. If I had to assign percentages it was pretty much 50/50. Bryson doesn't win if Rory makes those two short putts, and neither one of them were 'easy tap ins'. Both of them had to be aimed outside the cup with exactly the right speed to break in. The announcer even said it, 'that is not the putt you want', he was above the hole putting down/side hill on super slick green with a lot of break. If anything you could again blame it on his iron play on those bogey holes because if he is able to hit it on the green it should be a much easier 2 putt vs having to get up and down. Similar to The Open at St Andrews, he was leaving himself very long putts for birdie despite having short irons into those greens. Remember also Bryson missed a short fairly easy putt for par on the 15th hole. So much pressure. That last shot from the bunker from Bryson then sinking the putt was just unreal, Bryson deserved the win no doubt. He drove it horribly and still was making tons of pars and recovery shots from the native areas.
    I would have preferred that Rory had a press conference, I think most of us were feeling so bad for him but I can't imagine trying to face questions after that emotional roller coaster.

  • @wayneatplay

    Rory backed himself into a corner with Monaghan pulling his strings on the Golf Tour divide.....he got himself to the edge & saw a point of no return.....His comments pre the Championship was a pressure releaser for him......but when he got to those short putts, which are easily missed......the doubt of past failures appeared.....Bryson just said ok it's time now just keep this thing going & fight it out baby.....which as history will show paid off.

Also satisfying was the post game comments from Golf Channel hypocrites trying to do their jobs and biting their tongues praising Bryson. Big downer was Brandel Chamblee on the broadcast with his putting negative spins when his colleagues had positives to say. Smiliey would say I think this long putt doesn’t do much and is makeable then Chamblee would say, yes but.. many have run this putt by the hole and three putt. He was overbearing, negative and trying to be the smartest guy in the room again. I was tempted to turn down the volume like I do when I watch the lpga broadcast.

    What is really different with Bryson...? Id there a new Bryson...or is it just Bryson allowing himself to be just Bryson?
    Maybe because of CZcams and the support he gets from his followers on the medium, he realized it's okay just to be himself and that people are okay with him the way he is.
    I think it is very obvious that Bryson played golf because he loves the game and he is having fun...it shows!
    If you look at all the other pro golfers...they look like us normal folk on our way to work every day to put in the day's work just to make a living (pissed off with life and its struggles)...they sure don't look like they are enjoying being on a golf course playing a game they love while earning damn good income! Go have a look back and see how Rory was enjoying playing golf 10/12 years okay...and compare it with all the seriousness of the last few years!

  • @paulwilfridhunt
    @paulwilfridhunt Před 11 dny

    There’s a thing called golf fate or destiny and some people have the ability to discern this.
    For instance there are seasons when it’s appropriate for one golfer to win and win and keep on winning. Jack and Tiger are examples of this. There’s a time for it but not all the time, because it’s not always good for the game.
    It has its disadvantages, because it means that others are not winning who also deserve to win. And whilst the viewing public love it when there’s a stand out serial winner, however it’s rough on those who have to suffer losing, because they aren’t getting a look in.
    When it happens, when a dominant player arises, who seemingly can’t be beat, it brings with it a discouragement to the other players who would love to win at least one major.
    In the grand scheme of golfing fate, Rory, who could potentially become a player to run away with it all, fate stepped in and prevented it.
    But it’s quite clear to all those who know how to discern golfing fate that he will most certainly win the grand slam. It’s not if, it’s when.
    Actually he has the game for much more than this. But he’s going to win the masters and not by the skin of his teeth. He’s going to absolutely run away with it.
    He’s not going to have to gut it out or grind it out. Or psyche himself up. It’s just going to happen. It’s going to flow for him. And maybe it’ll be his most satisfying win yet. Because its going to be accompanied by great peace.
    And believe me when I say that many will be rejoicing. No sweat. It’s in the stars. It’s called golfing destiny.
