Thats's a great feature and it works great. Thank you so much for the great video.
Is there an option though when not connected to a specific WIFI that the VPN automatically connects?

Our facilities involve employees going through doors 10-20x per day and having to use your phone would be a lot of added up lost time. Hoping they make this faster via some sort of tap or nfc ability. Would love to implement this in a heartbeat at our facilities!

What's the best way to set up firewall rules in combination with One Click VPN as it's easy with wifi devices joining specific networks but it seems all VPN clients have access to everything unless specifically blocked

That looks nice! Need to look at that later today at home. So this will allow my phone to VPN to my UDP-SE when I'm on the road.... Just wondering, my ISP IP will change over time ofcourse... How does my phone app know my changing home IP address?

So you need to create a new SSID for UID? And all users need to use that one? You can't use and assign SSID already created? Also, do clients needs to manually click the connect wifi button everytime they come in or once done, it will connect automatically?

Does this work with the doorbell pro? I suppose not as there isn't any lock accosted with it. I wish they'd come out with a residential door/lock like a dead bolt.

It adds two users using UID in the VPN Clients. Think this is a bug. Also it is not easy to identify these based on username. Does this also get around having to use a Dynamic DNS in case IP address changes? Still needs some polish. Update.. I think the two UID and IP addresses assigned for users are for a phone and desktop client. My iPhone uses the regular UID and windows PC is the UID with a _1 suffix.

  • @JaredNaude

Currently using Unifi Access with manual users (>400), I wonder how easy it will be to move from manually created users to UID. One of the main benefits of UID for us is the ability for staff to use their phones to unlock doors.

I have over 300 users and so far, you have to manually add email addresses for each user you want to be able to use Identity. Ubiquiti say they are going to allow for updating users via csv with an email field in an upcoming update but I don’t know when that is.

The main thing I'm missing with this is Linux access. Most of the people in my company use Linux, so it's not much use yet. I guess I'll just stay old school for now :)
This wifiman application for Windows and Mac is actually a good example of something that should have been open source in the first place. The thing you pay for is the service itself and the hardware it's running on. The client application is not where the IP is. If they had made it open source, someone would have ported it to Linux and Windows for them for free some time ago already. It's a shame that companies still after more than 30 years of free software don't understand the benefits of this.

Bummed that you're only allowed 3 SSID's when using One click wifi. To make this work, I have to delete one of my SSID's that I have my staff setup on already. Kind of frustrating.

Hello Mactelecom, thank you for your videos and dedication. If possible, I'd like your advice for my apartment. I live in a two-family building in Italy and would like to have keyless entry for both the main entrance and my apartment. If I install a G2 Starter Kit Pro, can I purchase a second Access Reader G2 to connect it to the same Hub? In other words, can two G2 devices work with a single Access Door Hub? Or should I consider the option of 1 G2 Starter Kit Pro (for the apartment) + 1 G4 Doorbell (for the main entrance)? Thank you.
