- In this video I show you how to update your Hyundai's navigation (Maps) and software/firmware at home for free. Hyundai has made it very easy to update the headunit yourself in the comfort of your own home using Hyundai's new navigation updater tool. If your Gen 5 headunit has not been updated before, it will get the latest UI theme for including those found in all many 2018-2020 Hyundai models. Even if you don't get the new theme, you will still receive many benefits such as updated POI's, new features, and updated maps.

this video was too quick, I have a 2022 santa fe limited. does it have a sim card? do I need to replace it? when i use the gps and talk to the speaker I always get "no network response" How do I fix that?

I have spent so much time trying to find the sd card slot on my 2019 Santa Fe (5 seater). My dashboard looks like the one in you video, but I can't find it anywhere. It is not shown in the manuals at all. Nothing is labelled with that on it. Is there a specific place?

I have a 2019 sonata and need to update mine to use Bluelink. When I go to update it it says it needs 40 gbs of space so I got a 64 gb card then when I used that it said it can’t use any cards that are 64gb or more
I bought a Hyundai Santa Fe from Korea and I took out the sd card and downloaded the gps of my country, but when I wanted to update it says there is no information on the sd card and it is inside and when I click check update it says it requires bluelink
Yeah ummm have a 2016 Santa Fe 7 seater…no update listed…never updated it yet and having issues now. Attempted the 2017 7 seater update but it told me the sd card (came with vehicle) is too small capacity for the download. So is there nothing I can do for my vehicle?
Yours likely came with a 16GB card, you'll need a 32GB due to the file sizes being larger with the newer updates.

I am not sure how the OTA updates will work. Hyundai is introducing those here in the US for many 2023MY vehicles. This means we should see the first vehicles getting them this fall or so.

Yes, only the navigation update.
Can I use a micro SD card with an adapter? it should be the same.
I have not tested this. I would try to use a full size SD card if possible.
Where is the SD card location for a 2019 Tuscan located.
It may be like the Santa Fe and located on the top, behind the screen if you don't see it on the dash.
@carsmadesimple The download went well, the saving the sd card went well but when i turn the car on and go to the menus and get to the update screen, the moment i take the card out to put the new one it says that no file are there

Do you have navigation? It should be located right around the screen.
@@CarsMadeSimple I don't have navigation, but they told me that I need to update the car to activate the blue link because the blue link activation failed!

Can you do these updates while driving the vehicle?
Yes! All features including back up camera and radio will become unavailable until it is finished.
@@CarsMadeSimple thanks! Seems like a good use of my 35 minute drive home. If it isn’t done by the time I get home can I shut the car off or do I need to leave it running?
@@rcombs18 The update will say on the screen that it will finish if the vehicle is shut down but personally I would just leave it running until done.
After the update do you keep the SD card inside the unit or you can take it out. And keep your update
You must leave it installed because the system reads to the navigation (maps) from the SD card.

If you have the 2020 Sonata SEL Plus trim, you would do the Navigation update if you have the tech package or 10.25" screen.

I couldn't find any on 2021 Tucson, You will have to use an USB stick with 32gb to do the update.
I have the 2021 Tucson. Are you saying find a 32 gb USB flash drive or SD card with an adapter?
my computer says that the file cannot be downloaded because apple cannot check for ,malware and that Hyundai needs to update the software for their navigation installer.
It took me a few tries but I got mine to download without much issue on a Macbook Air.
@@CarsMadeSimple it might have something to do with the fact that I just updated my computer the the newest apple software, who knows
@@kylearmitage9323 You should be able to override it through the settings if I am not mistaken but I honestly don't know my way around Apple software.
I've got a USB. Once the update is installed can I remove the USB and use it elsewhere? Or do I need to leave the USB in the slot forever?
If the latter, I assume it'd be better to get an SD card and leave that in the car?
If your car requires a USB to update, you do not need to leave it in as the car stores all the data. If your car requires an SD, you do need to leave it in for the maps to work.
