I use tulle and wrap it on the trunks and a couple limbs. The squirrels think it’s a trap because their tiny nails get caught and it scares them.

When I was a child I remember everyone had at least one fruit tree in their backyard. I'm talking living in a small town in a city lot. Everyone shared with neighbors so everyone got apples, pears, whatever! A good variety for everyone. Then the fad was to cut them down because they were messy and attracted bees and wildlife. What have we done? Everyone had a very small garden also with at least a couple of tomato plants and peppers and maybe zucchini or cukes. Now you hardly ever see that in the city. I'm the only one in my Street that has a small garden. It's in half of my front yard as that's the only place that has sunshine! I don't care that my lawn isn't perfectly manicured. I love the look of my little garden and everyone compliments us. I always share our bounty with our neighbors. That's part of why I plant it. To share it. I can't get enough out of it to can up, I utilize local farms for that.

I love the banana trees. I have never seen peaches get that red before. I had a ton of plums on my trees, I was so excited, I came out one day and every single one was gone. I just keep planting fruit trees and shrubs, I figure if anything, I will harvest at least something from one of them. You grow so many things, it's a paradise. I have noticed that there's more fruit on everything, even fruit on trees I never knew made fruit. A lot of things making fruit for the first time this year too. It's very wonderful, and odd. I have a feeling everyone should harvest as much as possible.. I think a famine is coming and the lord is trying to tell everyone.

The small plum you tasted at the end is a Methley plum. They always stay small, but have the sweetest best plum taste. We have three trees, one older and two younger. It takes them a while to get started, but once they do, they really produce.

I grew up in an old house (central UK) with a 1 acre walled kitchen garden that had what we always thought was a row of five peach trees that always blossomed but never bore fruit for 30 years. Then one year all five trees bore an abundance of weird (to us) looking fruit that turned out to be almonds. 😃

Wrapping some tulle around the tree trunk will keep off any ground animals with tiny fingernails. They touch the tulle and their little fingernails get stuck and they think its a trap and avoid it. You can also wrap a swath of a tree in tulle or wrap the individual fruits. Sometimes deer will avoid tulle if there are other things available.

My neighbor has an English walnut tree(I have 2 smaller ones from this tree its a hearty English walnut) we do get frost/freeze problems with getting nuts but when they do fruit for us the chipmunks on my trees and squirrels on his leave us hardly any. But Bt seemed to take care of the web worms and gypsy moths.
I have all kinds of tulle that I've used in the garden I might use it on the trees. One of mine is tiny so won't work as the limbs are close to the ground.
But it should work on my neighbors tree and they share with me so I could easily wrap that tree for them.

Love everything! When we started clearing this land, we have found so many things that are just awesome- like plum trees, wild grapes, apple trees, and a persimmon tree as well (which I, of course, tricked my husband into biting into an un-ripe one🤣)
You are so blessed and are such an inspiration!
