As a cop I nodded when the "at the police station" came up. I just went through a supervisor course in preparation for an upcoming promotion one thing that came up a lot was the days of calling someone into the office, cussing them out for a screw up, and then going out for lunch is gone.
Part of it is generational with younger millennials and Gen Z coming into the ranks. But a larger is the realization that fixing a problem requires work; at least keeping an eye on someone to make sure that they don't screw up again. Shocking I know, but sadly we still have a lot of people who went through the getting scream at phase and still apply it in the "if I had to go through it, you got to go through it too" mindset.

Honestly that's really similar to the attitude of older doctors versus the newer generation in regards to some of the extreme practices in residency (like 90hr work weeks and rotating shifts which both lead to exhaustion which can actually be fatal in a hospital setting), at least here in Canada. It's basically the same with extreme boot camps etc etc. When you've been deliberately traumatized by those in power, it is really difficult to deal with the cognitive dissonance that it was just abuse and not a needed ritual and of course that perpetuates generationally. Luckily we're starting to recognize and correct this but it's taken about two generations of my family to start actually making any headway for example
(My mother's PHD is in remediation and my sister's master's degree is in doctor patient communication and they are both teaching doctors which is why I know so much about this.)

I think there was a study that suggests about 20 percent of young people with diagnosed adhd may also have undiagnosed or misdiagnosed bpd. Others will misapply bpd traits as adhd when they are not.

I've always been a Vegas Pro person. I own my software that I know how to use and have been using for 10+ years now. After I got my certifications in Adobe products, I never touched them again. Absolutely miserable experience for the prices they expect you to pay.

Well that and for certain college classes you need Photoshop. (Though the times have changed even during college with Photopea) I will say that early cancellation fee was such a pain to deal with back then.
Though with what you were saying it’s harder to have competition when the person at the top has this massive hold everywhere.

It's the overnight success issue. I used to do commentary, them watched the entitled psychopathy which that genre rewarded grow like a cancer. You take someone with no real skills, let them become famous in the blink of an eye for saying shit the Internet likes (which is almost never good) and then we all act surprised when the lack of genuine shit eating which humbles most artists along their careers if they have one, results in sociopathic monsters. No one tells them no until it's way too late.

Honestly the biggest thing that needs to be done to help an abuse victim, (and I say this from extensive experience) is to stand by them. For some strange reason proving abuse to people isn’t even the hardest part, there are often even witnesses you don’t have to prove it to. Despite that fact most people actually blame you, attack you, &/or isolate you when you are being abused. It seems the hardest thing for people is actually standing by, rather than blaming the victim, & it’s actually worse than the abuse you suffer from your abuser TBH.
I agree "what can we learn" needs to be every takeaway from every situation, we dont make ourselves better by staying in the loop of shame and guilt ....we learn, we grow, and hopefully do better✌️

And what I noticed on this particular group is they silently noticed things and backed away. Bur never discussed it among themselves. In my friend groups, we check in occasionally within if someone seemed off. "Hey, have you noticed Sally seems super angry lately? Should one of us ask what's going on? Any insight?"
The explanations seem distanced, very surface level. At least from my perspective. If you knew he was abusive to you and saw him being abusive to a partner, why wouldn't you assume it was worse than imagined after the mask slipped. I think they wanted to stay far enough away they would have plausible deniability. At least in their minds.

I really hope adobe loses this lawsuit. It needs to be illegal to even have cancellation fees for a digital subscription. They used to exist because there were tangible fees involved in stopping shipments of physical products like magazines. With a digital product, there is literally no overhead and loss of access is immediate. It should not be allowed if the company incurs no loss to cancellation.

The thing is, I don't think most people 'become' abusers when exposed to fame, they would almost certainly have something like masochistic personality disorder or anger issues etc before getting famous. Most abusers have issues of their own from childhood trauma etc or personality disorders. Not to excuse anything obviously, but I think that it probably is exaggerated by the fame over time until you get these high profile cases.

I disagree that big fights will happen in relationships with neurodivergence. Arguments? Absolutely, that's true in any relationship but fights? That's not healthy conflict and means you need help, it's not normal just because of other factors that contribute to needing help.
I'm saying this as an AuDHD person in a nearly 8 year relationship with an AuDHD person, both of us with trauma and other complications. We both had to learn the difference between fights and arguments before our relationship and I think it's a really important distinction to make.
Arguments can get heated, but you gotta learn your limits and the signs of when you need to walk away. Don't let it become of a fight.

I am not a fan of the rapper, but the absolute corruption that is being shown in the trial is indicative of what is going on in our legal system. It took 10 mo to get a jury picked for that trial and he has been in jail for approx 2 years without being proven guilty in a nation that claims "innocent until proven guilty". It's not just a mistrial that should be restarted, but the prosecutor knows better and should be removed from the case for participating in such meetings which give an unfair advantage. The judge needs to be investigated and potentially unbenched depending on what is found, but the lawyer have been clear the judge has not been actually taking charge of the court room to make this any kind of speedy trial and has drawn things out to significant excess. I am a fan of justice based on how our justice system is supposed to work!!!!
If you can’t vote for Biden, please consider voting for Lina Khan. I’ve said this many times over the past couple of months and that first story about Adobe is exactly why. She has done a ton for the consumer in the time since she’s been at the FTC and given how hard Wall Street fought her confirmation, she’s just getting started. Completely understand why Biden is not winning your vote given his willingness to let Bibi do what he’s doing in Gaza, but him appointing Lina Khan even though the capitalist’s pitched a fit- and her advocacy for consumer protection is worth her getting 4 more years… plus, we know Trump won’t make things better in Gaza. There is a reason Bibi wants Trump back in office, he’ll likely give him whatever is needed to ‘finish the job’ and that should terrify everyone who cares about the fate of not only the Palestinian people, but also whatever remains of their history and culture.
