I'll review the best features and downfalls of each.

The voice changer sounds like Nimon from Dr. Who.
You should get the 2022 version of the Black series Darth Vader helmet. It looks more screen accurate, and it has the gunmetal paint and red lenses too and a neck.
Facts I just picked that one up and love it

I didn't realize the amount of differences - I originally thought it was just the paint & lenses - I didn't realize the neck was part of it.
I have the Supreme helmet and the neck is so long it causes issues with the chest/shoulder armor.
How viable is the neck-length on the new black series in comparison?

Got it and did a short on it with my integrated voice system…cool but challenging to be comfy in for shorter folks if wearing the chest armor
I really don't think that the missing voice changer from the black series helmet is a down fall at all. It has plenty of space inside for you to add your own microphone. I bought a professional voice changer system and it works great with the black series. But whenever they put voice changers in helmets they don't work that well, they're not loud at all, and the helmet has to have holes so you can hear it. I rather them not add it.
Yea, by default some built-in systems are weak, like the audio on the commercial version of this helmet. --> I had to AMP up the audio with a 3rd party tool (Adobe Audition) to really get the volume to have some punch. It made the audio audible even in a noisy crowd.
The 2004 Vader Helmet voice changer however worked surprisingly well at giving some loud audio and had the best voice changing capabilities I have yet to see out of the box. I know some of those guitar pedals can do some real magic, but they take a reasonable time and monetary investment to get the user there.
What system do you use?
@@creative-stuff I do use the guitar pedal system along with some professional throat modular microphones. The pedals have different effects and settings on it which really give you the actual James earl Jones vocal sound. I find that built in
Systems cannot reach those feats or sound anything close to James at all.
@@YEAR-1-RELICS ah yea - fair point. I suppose for many people that makes it the ideal way to go for the Darth Vader context.
I’m fortunate enough that I have a deep voice and can imitate his voice reasonably well, so after I modified my black series with just an amp - I found that worked fine for me. It’s big plus was all fitting inside the helmet chin with no external connections.
Since people have posted how to reproduce his voice, one would think the mask maker would just copy that single capability into a chip and put it into the helmet. *shrug*
I am curious to try out one of those pedals to see what else it could do.
You say your works fine in your helmet. Is that just the mic portion? I’m assuming you have the pedal portion on your belt or something like that?
Which model do you use and would you recommend it compared to others your aware of?
The black series although not perfect is 95% - i also have the master replicas from rots they are like 2-10k now its 100% accurate but from a wearability pov it’s horrible
I have yet to come across a ROTS helmet… and at a price like that I don’t think I will - ha.
