- Decided to max out the Lovers link, which was done on 3rd October, to do a comparison between this and her social link with Kotone in Persona 3 Portable as well as to get more context for The Answer given the events there.
For context on the Fuuka moment, Fuuka’s social link has not started yet at the time when this scene takes place in my playthrough. It feels similar to the Rank 7 social link scene where Yukari talks about cooking despite me already maxing her out on the evening cooking events.

I'm never not gonna romance her on all my playthroughs, it's physically impossible I get here and my hands just move on their own.
Now that I’ve nearly finished the game, I’m about to head into Tartarus on the 31/1, and finishing all of the SEES social links with others being the friendship route especially Aigis which has a very wholesome conclusion, I see this romance path being similar to Chie’s route where it adds more interesting context to some of the story scenes like when Ryoji shows up in November or when Junpei lashes out when discussing what to do with Ryoji on New Years Eve.

Ong same, im just a sucker for short hairs. I also couldnt romance any other characters beside makoto in p5, like i have this uncontrollable urge to always become her study partner.
If I had a nickel for every time two characters of the Lovers Arcana had their rank 9 cutscene on a roof, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

aaaaaand I believe 4 out of 5 romanceable character in this game confessed their love in this same spot. lol
in the original the characters confessed in their rooms and there wasnt an option for rejection, so they made it shorter and on the roof, a bit lackluster tbh.

I will say it’s kinda funny the 4 who clearly confess to you are on the roof and the one who doesn’t confess untill you do (Yuko) is the only one to have an unique place for the 9th link

Considering that we now have scenes where Makoto fully interacts with every member of SEES, it definitely adds more depth to their decisions during the Colosseum part of The Answer even if I still have problems with The Answer from a narrative perspective.
I hope they rewrite/rework a lot of aspects abt the answer. I personally hate it

@@phoney4258if they went with more of a modern day dlc with the rewrite it might help…maybe. My main problem narratively isn’t the decisions but that it felt rushed with certain characters so that we could have the conflict that occurs. Seeing how they twicked a bit here and there I think it could works.
For them to rework the pacing of tht story, reasonings for them to fight eachother, it felt cheap, the grind, and close off tht subplot with liz so p3 can finally get closure. Part of the ending was also very unsatisfactory the way it was presented so they could change it a bit.

Just adding to this. NG+ and already maxed out Fuuka before Yukari. Still, I never talked to Fuuka while Yukari was interested.
Starting Fuuka's link is definitely possible on a first playthrough. I'm going for a max link run on hard without a guide and I've maxed my courage and gotten my charm to 5 by 6/24 and only spent two of my mornings at wild duck and the movies to crunch in extra points before the exams. Just stick to a consistent schedule and prioritize classmate links before summer rolls around and you'll likely max all links except for 1 or 2 if you're going in blind.

Was actually thinking about that and went back to check during a challenge run. If you pick that option, Makoto actually tries to walk away and Yukari calls him mean. You can still do the romance path if you pick that option and it’s quite funny in that context

@@darkequinox_yt7613he meant that Makoto subconsciously moved on his own to hug yukari in these scene. Normally you'll be given an option to hug someone as Makoto (the MC) when you play their social links

I'm usually caught picking Mitsuru or Fuuka in a 70/30 split of playthroughs (going back to the OG) but charm levels up the easiest on Reload so I was with Yukari this time 😂

Yukari and makoto is "canon".... So yukari did have several things that happened when going to max out yukari confidant and it is hinted that yukari did love makoto in the answer.
It’s also shown in the manga commissioned by Atlus that Yukari had feelings for him. Before the final battle she tells Aigis that she was planning on telling Makoto her feelings once the final battle was over

Also the movie hinted at her having feelings for Makoto cause when she remembers what they promised, her tears fell down on her eyes

On my first play through I romanced her and then regretted it after doing mitsuru's social link because it feels far more like a rejection and hard friend zone than yukari just asking "why do you spend so much time with me"
Damn I remember back when the real drawback to the harem route was Makoto's cannonical death that ultimate sacrifice to save the Universe and it's future.

Platonic doesn't feel right because in the answer arc, it seems canon the Yukari had a big crush on the mc, to the point that she's even jealous that another girl inherited his gift and not her.

Suppose it’s kinda similar to Aigis’s friendship route here which I prefer over her the ending of her link in Portable where she takes a selfie with you as well as a group photo with Junpei, Yukari, you and Fuuka. That one did leave me teary eyed for a moment having them interact that way so close to the finale.

No ? Makoto Yuki (Nijima was the first female Makoto I've ever heard of), Narukami Yu and Ren Amamiya...they all sound masculine. We should check the kanji, tho
Depends on the kanji, but yes, both Makoto and Ren can be feminine. A bit like Shirley or Morgan, I guess.

@@DanielH.-sg8oodude there is no Problem with that. They could just made a Happy End by making certain Decisions and People could play a Tragedy or a Happy End. Games are supposed to make Fun or to escape Reality and not remind us of how unfair stupid Reality is. I personally love the Ending but also want a Happy End. Persona Games have great replay Value. But Persona 3 Reload or other Versions would maybe keep you from replaying the Game. Because seriously who wants to play a Game again and again only to suffer and get depressive about it? Thats why a new optional Ending would be good. I rather have a Happy End Route in the Form of Persona 5 Royal instead of The Answer. A new Semester where they save their Leader because he isnt dead. Aigis turning into a Human and some other Stuff like new Personas and i bet that at least 25% of the Fans would love that more than The Answer.
@@michaelbarrett8141 I think the way people look at persona 3's ending is a bit "wrong" just because the mc died doesn't mean it's a bad/sad ending, he didn't just died, he made a choice to protect everything he cared the most, and had the luxury to die knowing his friends were ok and also were there for him. Plus there's also the answer that expand on everyone's feelings over his loss and ultimately overcoming their regrets (burning their dread you might even say), p3's ending isn't depressing, it's a beautiful and bittersweet ending were death isn't portrayed as something to be feared
@@pepekovallin i dont Fear Death. And its only natural you shouldnt fear it. It comes for you one Way or the other. Bittersweet Endings getting kind of annoying. I get he is glad that his Friends are safe. But who says they are happy without him? Yukari was literally his Soulmate. Most People would even consider Suicide if they cant be with their most beloved Person or losing someone very Important. Best Example Linkin Park Front Singer. All of them suffered so much each one of them deserves to be happy and that includes Makoto too. Like i said i love the Ending especially the Meaning behind it. But it would be good to still have another Ending. That way i can play it again and again and decide this Time i go for the sad Ending and next Time for the Happy Ending. A good Example for how you could make it a happier Ending is Puss in Boots 2. Puss in Boots has kinda the same Message but manages to turn it into a Happy End.
