  • This clock was given to me from Nancey and all I had to do was pay shipping. The Cuckoo clock belong to her Grandfather that passed away and was too costly to have repaired. At one time, he tried to repair the clock himself after the cuckoo clock fell off the wall. My videos were not available at the time of his repairs, so the clock went through a lot and never did work again until I got a hold of it.

    Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
    A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.

    It’s a skill you have for sure. I’d never get back together.
    Thanks for sharing!

      It does take some skill or maybe a good eye or even a lot of practice, but in time you might be able to get one of these back together right, (Along with a LOT of pictures as you take the clock apart).

    I think it is a Baduf 100 movement (Badische Uhenfabrik AG.) They use the Cuckoo Clock MFG Co. name too. The plate diagram in the back of Rod Lloyd's book "The Cuckoo clock owners repair manual". Nice work with the movement Mike! It does seem that the bellows tops are too big for this clock.

      I know the clock shops need to make money and believe it or not, they are booked up and might be a year out, before they get the clock looked at. Thanks so much for watching Bat and have a wonderful day.

    No timing marks? Well you have to take a class for that. Here is a good class.

      The timing marks are really a good eye and the pin on the wheel that hits the lever. Thanks so much for watching Bob Anderson.

    A hand removal tool would lift the pacman off without damage, if you have enough space to get under it.

      I have removed them before, but I have had some clocks that there was maybe fingernail polish on them to hold them tight. I don't think it is that important to get them off, but it might make it easier to set the timing, compared to the way I do it most the time. Thanks for watching and have a great week.

    Hello Is it possible for a cickoo clock to chime once on the hour, do they make some that way thanks.

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  Před 3 měsíci

      They do not make them that way. IF, you were to take your movement out and remove the lever that drops on the Snail. Then the clock would only cuckoo once on the hour and 1/2 hour. Just make sure you tape that lever in the clock box so it stays with the clock if you sell it or you might not get any money for your clock at a later date.
