"Don't take the cheap fares."
Alec's best advice from this interview.
Problem is they are all cheap
@troyeastman9500 that's where the 3 Ps come in. Particularly patience.
@@RealDocJames premier are the only trips worth doing and they are few and far between
@@RealDocJamesone or two trips a day aren’t gonna pay the bills
@troyeastman9500 don't drive then. If your market is lousy or this gig is no longer worth it where you are. Do something else. The advice still stands. Don't take cheap fares.
Thank you for this! A ton of Uber and Lyft drivers have no idea how much better driver pay was/is with taxis.
Thanks 👍
The only way to stop the exploitation of rideshare drivers. Is the lawmakers. The ones you put in office. That will look out for us and that corporate America. Once the lawmakers get involved and actually stand up for us and make this a fair an equal balance of all the drivers. Is when we solve this problem.
Good comment but most lawmakers don't care about drivers
Amazing story about Alec speaking at the PUC meetings and protesting at Uber’s front steps even if by himself. Indeed YRide launch offers hope for drivers that are disillusioned with bureaucrats that don’t care about unsafe and unjust regulations. I have great respect and admiration for veteran Taxi drivers. Recently saw a great movie Daddio with Sean Penn as a NY Taxi driver and Dakota Johnson as the passenger, the whole movie is their conversation from the airport to Manhattan. 😊👍🚙
Thanks 🙏
16:23 he has point!
Some markets are still non-upfront markets. We cannot see payment until we end the ride.
Blindfold by Uber as to destination as well.
The only way I take fares under $7 is if I'm given a significant ride challenge bonus which is very rare these days.
Wow 🤩 fantastic information ℹ️ Thank You 🙏 Both ….
the wrong target as usual. the problem instead of Uber is the insurance bandits.
Go with Vroom insurance
Yes! SF is no longer a "like a good neighbor." They just raised all their insureds' premiums 15-20% JUST BECAUSE THE DRIVER WANTED TO USE THEIR CAR FOR BUSINESS and not issuing them a commercial policy because of the weight of their vehicle not being over 10k lbs, but only adding an "endorsement for Rideshare" on their personal policy, increasing their premiums, with no added benefit, and telling the driver they can't charge a fare (being in business for their self, including building a clientele) unless those fares are set by app company (Uber/Lyft), which keeps insurance company in cahoots with app companies on PRICE FIXING!
Hope the FTC looks at the whole picture of why drivers can't make a profit, nor contribute to their own Social Security account through paying SE taxes! Drivers AND riders are "insurance poor."
Too many desperados
I drive lyft and learned the hard way they only match your insurance if you dont have full coverage their insurance isnt going to cover you even with a passenger and its just a million dollar liability insurance you should be covered im so pissed
Being a rideshare driver everybody comes from a different walks of life. I believe the passengers don't really see that some of them don't see the valley that we provide. Plus all of these companies that made apps are minting of a lot of hard work that people do. I thought Congress would come up with a plan to be fair enough for both parties. I don't like to be political but yet I didn't see anything on paper yet. We should have one fee Nationwide to be an independent contractor. We should be able to see everything in transparency. Vice versa same with the customer doing both food delivery people don't see that. That's why you see $2 to $3 orders for 8 to 10 mi because companies shows they don't care. It's a great way for people who are having a tough time to get a regular career job that they were in for such a long time that this is a supplement path to conduct whether you do it for 80 hours or for 20 hours or less. I don't know if we can do this but a nationwide Union would be a great stronghold for all the states and most of all to all drivers. Sergio, come on. You can be the president of this. 😊
Thanks for the great comment
@@sergioSMTMC1 You're welcome sir. You deserve it. And thank you for all those important information that you bring to the table for us drivers.
I’ve watch your channel ever since I started driving for Uber. Would you be kind enough to offer some consultation? I would deeply appreciate it
