    The exercises in this video are compatible with the requirements from the RCM Piano Syllabus (2022 Edition and 2015 Edition). The RCM Violin Syllabus (2021 Edition), Voice Syllabus (2019 Edition), and Guitar Syllabus (2018 Edition) have similar requirements. The presentation of these chord progressions may differ depending on the exam/exercise type. Please consult with the syllabi directly as this video is not an official source.
    This video is for informational/educational purposes only; it is not endorsed or affiliated with any particular music institution. These examples were created as ear training exercises for students in my studio, shared here to make these resources more accessible. I notate all of the examples in my videos and also write/compose the excerpts.

    Notes:
    • Options for this level are I-IV-V-I, I-IV-V-vi, I-vi-IV-V, I-vi-IV-I, i-iv-V-i, i-iv-V-VI, i-VI-iv-V, or i-VI-iv-i (major or harmonic minor keys)
    • Yes, each chord progression begins with a tonic chord. Yes, you must state it each time.
    • For some examinations, there will be a tonic chord played before each chord progression to establish the key. Please consult with your teacher and/or syllabus to confirm procedures. This video is not an official source and was created as additional exercises for students in my studio.

    Except for the UC/LC part i had them all good. what is the idea about UC/LC?

    • @ClassicalSqueak
      @ClassicalSqueak  Před 20 dny +2

      Hi there! (Took me a minute to figure out what UC/LC stands for, oops.) For classical functional chord symbol notation (or Roman numeral analysis), uppercase implies a major chord, lowercase implies a minor chord.
      If you would like to see different cases for triads check around 4:18 for this video: czcams.com/video/ATq1vijGFrI/video.htmlsi=kuPG6oaRk-U-wZUY&t=258
      And if you are unfamiliar with chord inversions for this notation, I would suggest: czcams.com/video/IokuJrECoK8/video.html
      Thanks for watching! :)

      Me too, I didn’t know what was meant? But a great question and a good answer. I’ve shown your videos to my piano teacher and he thinks they are excellent. Merci beaucoup, which is Swiss for thanks very very much.
