From what i've understood Gary is an icon and loved all over the Philliphines . I have a cousin who is married to a woman from the Philliphines and last year i mentioned a female artist from the Philliphines who has become famous through CZcams and Gary. She was first suprised i knew Morissette Amon and then almost shocked when i mentioned Gary Valenciano!!
TY for reacting to Gary V, you are the 1st reactor I have seen who understands this song professionally and of course intimately because of your love for jazz. I listened to Chick, Al, Pat, Jaco, Manhattan transfer etc from vinyl records long ago, just listened though, enjoying the improv's. More power and love from the Philippines 🇵🇭🙏

I'm glad this Wish 107.5 video worked. I have some more stuff from there. It is a mobile (bus) radio station / studio in the Philippines. I guess they announce the station as sort of an audio watermark. Gary Valenciano is a fixture of the music scene in the Philippines. I saw a live performance video of this song where he talked about Al Jarreau being an inspiration. I think most of his other songs in English would be considered Christian worship songs. I have some other marathons of vocal and instrumental music without my usual guitar emphasis put together ; more with Lex, or both of you in mind - but it looks like that could take a while. Meanwhile, I still have some stuff for Music With Nick.

Gary V. is known as Mr. Pure Energy and is an Icon in the Philippines. I really wish there were better video recordings of his younger days. I had the opportunity to see him perform during a concert at school in the Philippines during the mid 1990's. He's an excellent dancer. Has quite a few moves still at age 58.

This is just one of the talents of Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. Al Jarreau is a great singer but Gary V is not a cheap copycat. He can sing and dance like Michael Jackson. May I ask you, can your idol Al Jarreau do that, I don't think so. He is not just a singer, he's a songwriter, host, dancer, producer, actor, musician(can play so many musical instruments) and already a music icon in the Philippines.
