He makes such a good point. That being, (and I word it differently).. Its good to just be a person playing drums rather than a "drummer" playing drums. I have found this a good approach for me. The pressure of being something so specific I think narrows your playing. However, If you just sit behind a kit and tell yourself, "This is something I'm doing" Rather than "This is what I do", Helps with not only pressure but creative flow. I try to take this approach to all my everyday actions.
