- I dug up some old things in a spot with rock walls and improved land metal detecting and exploring the Abyss day three. Searching for old deserted places in this large Nh forest the clues are in the landscape history. Stone walls, improved land that had been plowed and finding a few relics with my Fisher F19 buried in the ground. I walked for hours and miles again until I came to this one area that had a nail iron floor in the dirt letting us know there was some kind of structure here. A shard of china, hinge, oxen shoe, sheet metal and some fancy brass thing that I have no idea what it is. Oh and lets not forget the wagon wheel laying against the stone wall. But with all that the process of settling this location back in the colonial days seems incomplete. It is like they started to build and forge out their homesite and stopped. Back to the abyss day three.

A brass flintlock musket sideplate. with two lockplate screw holes, circa 1760
This looks like a military English Brown Bess model 1756 musket side plate
I agree with you. I was just going to make the comment it was a musket sideplate when I saw your comment. 😂
I found one exactly the same a few years ago here in the UK
That brass piece is a side plate to a musket.
Thank you Charlie for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery and a few nice finds ! Looking forward to the next adventure there !
Wow a wagon wheel way out there just leaning against the rock wall. It is huge !! I just love when you share your hikes and finds with us😊
Vamos a la aventura y la búsqueda de los tesoros, saludos a todos ustedes desde chile 🙋♂️🇨🇱🙏👍👏🤜🤛⛏️🗡️🗝️💍💪
Side plate black powder rifle , the woodpeckers sound like a drum band .
Sounded like a fire fight with automatic weapons...I soon realized that ta-ta -ta is a busy woodpecker 😂...
Some wilderness sounds for people who are unable to make it to the forest, for exploration... Stay safe 🌹🤓
Hi Charlie, wow, awesome wagon wheel on this Not Thursday. Very cool. Joyce❤️🙏🇺🇸
I love to go along on your adventures the finds are a bonus 😊
Kinda looks like a clock part. Well made. You should have a mystery finds & update us
on what it is.
LFOD !
Thanks.Good outing. Sure seems like a potentially promising spot to revisit. The wavy iron piece looked something like one side of a horse bit, the actual diagonal 'bit' that goes in the animals mouth attaching through the hole and fitting into another wavy bars corresponding hole, exactly mirroring the one you found. Though rather small, perhaps pony sized? Entirely speculation. Or some sort of decorative reinforcmet piece on some other type of equipment.
Looks like musket parts to me. A wagon tire as well. Lots of those were wrought-iron. Thanks Charlie!
Musket side plate
Wondering if Dan and Tim sat straight up as that side plate came into view, danged exciting! As good as the Trime. Looking forward to the next visit.
Awesome stuff as always!!
Thanks Charlie 👌
Great to see what you find and learn about it. Really interesting😀
Enjoyed 👍
Nice find wheel
That cool looking thing you found is part of a horse bit.😊it goes on the outside of the horses mouth and there are rods that go through his mouth with another pice the same as the one you found on the other side.
Side plate to a second model Brown Bess
Just supported your page!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Love your videos.
Love watching your videos daily.. but wish you would talk into the camera.
😮
Next time, try a different coil.
Do you ever log or map your finds via gps to be able to go back and see what you found and where it was found.
That wheel
The brass 'thing' at about 16:40 may be the piece on the other side of the stock from a gun lock.
at 16:25 some say musket part It also could be just a horse bridle bit piece
I was wondering the other day on a different video, and then again today with this one - could these small area of nails with no cellar hole or footprint be the remnants of a wagon and its contents. Like, maybe the wheel came off, things were left and that's what you've come upon. Maybe the wagon was in poor shape at this point and good parts were salvaged (like the other 3 wheels) and the rest just left to rot away.
Hey how is Lu doing? It’s been a while since we’ve seen him/her!
Can you tell from the soil if it was for example a cattle pen, based on soil type
Trim side of a black powder lock for a rifle
I don't think you need to balance that kind of a tire.
Seen any moose lately ? 😂
Morning Daisy 😊
