Seeing this old Beechcraft D18 really takes me back to a simpler time ... when power lines were still above ground.

Brian, to your idea of flying it without the wingtips, I can speak from experience. Three days ago, I forgot to put the wing spars in before I snapped on the wing tips. Flew one (4000) battery just flying the pattern, no issue. Second flight (two 2200 4S in parallel) and tried a roll. Wing tips flexed up during the roll and then both wing tips popped off at the same time. Managed to get it under semi control,. Landed upright. Only damage was to plug end of one wing tip. $22 replacement wing tip will be here tomorrow. I really lucked out. But it does not fly well without the wing tips. Trust me.
That's CRAZY!!! Wish I would have seen it - bet it was like flying the SU-27 without a linkage attached to the tailevon ;)
This was a great video and excellent filming. You are a wizard at radio setup. Talk your sponsors into getting you an iX20 so you do set up with one of those.

It isn't hard to fly, but it can be a bit of a challenge to land ;)
I also believe most of these planes can use a little weight up front. I find it smooth s them out a bit.

I want one! I think I want to paint a "Lao Che Airlines" on the side door and go full Indiana Jones throwback plane. Kept picturing the map with red travel line as you were flying- Eagle killing zone to soon to be gone power line to the bowl to the vampire killing zone. 👍
This plane is so light and floaty i didnt get a good locked in flight til i ran a 4500 4s all the way forward in the nose! Trust me it flys a 100% better with a heavy battery up front

Is it possible that when you reverse the thrust one motor is pushing more than the other? Would this account for the turn at the end of landing?
That's what I was thinking since there is only a swerve during reverse thrust and not on takeoff.
Looks like it only veered right under reverse thrust.

A very stable platform , I belive a beginner could easily fly this plane.
You're forgetting how hard it is to fly ;) Think landings...this plane is a challenge on landings, rest is smooth sailing ;)
Seems like it yawed worse when you hit reverse, so likely there's a little asymetric reverse thrust happening.
