    i have a packham tree and i managed to harvest our pears back in march and just let it sit in the fridge to ripen til just the other day i pulled it out from the fridge and ate it. it was so juicy! the skin turned completely yellow. i never thought i’d be able to store those pears for so long and still be able to eat it.

    These videos are so great!! I’m trying to introduce more fruits and vegetables to my toddler, but I didn’t grow up eating very healthy so I’m kind of lost. But you’ve helped me so much. Please keep posting!!

      Matt Spewak thanks for the feedback. Good call on the Concorde, they are fantastic. I wish I could have included those, plus Forelle (speckled skin, delicate flavor), Seckel (small crunchy pears referred to as Sugar Pears) and Tosca (summery, sweet and juicy) - but perhaps in another video sometime.

    My Bartletts never get ripe. Still hard as a rock when they start to rot. Great for canning but not eating.

    Hi im from the philippines. The only variety of pear that i've enjoyed eating are bell shaped and are soft to eat. Where are those from and do they have a particular description?

      Would there be any way you could send any to England? I would cover all the costs and give you a good price.

    I have a pear tree where I'm living now. I swear it has a thousand pears on it. It's like 15 feet tall and THICK

    Can you sit pears in the sun?

    • @dcclxxvii5703
      @dcclxxvii5703 Před 3 lety

      You can but they won’t last long like that. If you want to ripen them faster then the sun will speed things up.
