    Here are the key takeaways:
    * Divide your investment goals into three categories: short-term, medium-term, and long-term.
    * Invest in equity for the long-term, debt for the medium-term, and short-term debt funds, bank deposits, or cash for short-term goals.
    * New investors should start with a diversified vehicle, like an aggressive hybrid fund.
    * Retirees must maintain a three-year consumption fund and a diversified asset allocation, avoiding an all-equity approach.
    * Focus on asset allocation as your portfolio grows. Review or rebalance your portfolios annually.

I want to retire early, around 48-50 years. My current expenses, including home loan EMI, are Rs 1,45,000. What should be my FIRE number? And how can I achieve that?

You've mentioned (re retirement ) 3yrs expense fund (liquid). Are you talking about 3yrs expenses flat out or 3yrs worth of expenses as corpus for the fund?
