    Nice demo. We got the move 4k bundle with 20x zoom for my church and installed a few weeks ago.
    Just a few notes on you video.
    1. SDI does not support the full 4k resolution transmission
    2. Looks like you are running an older firmware. When you upgrade it, they now give more controls for Auto tracking that also include I think 3 levels of how tight you want the image.
    3. Setting auto tracking to a custom button on the control board is awesome! We set it to the joystick button and is able to trigger any active camera on and off.
    Thanks always for all the content.

      Yes, the latest firmware does have Dynamic Zoom which give you the ability to zoom in during the auto-tracking.

      Yes, the latest firmware can realize the automatic tracking function and automatically zoom to the appropriate position to keep the character in the picture at all times.

    I am disappointed with the image quality of both cameras. And the autofocus. I had considered purchasing it but now I'm no longer interested.

      Agree. Not sharp. Herky- jerky camera movement as well. You would think that by 2024 these companies with it figured out how to deliver smooth pan/tilt that rivals a human operator.

      My CZcams video started off in a 720p streaming but when I moved the CZcams video quality to 4k the all the images. became super crisp to where the 1080p is not a bad option.

    The image quality is getting there for a PTZ, but not quite there for my taste. I wonder if the image could have been improved with a bit more light on the stage. For a camera with such a small sensor, it needs light to look normal.

    We have a very similar camera at our church, but it does not have the auto tracking. I made some mm-wave radar stations with esp-32 and forward that data to a sever that can point the camera at a target. It works well enough

    Currently, the largest sensor that PTZ optics has is a 1/1.8 inch Sony CMOS sensor used in the 20x and 30x zoom versions of the Move 4k. I've been using the 30x at about 50ft with some fantastic color reproduction for the price, but the autofocus struggles. My team builds positional presets every week and normally has to manually adjust the focus for each preset. PTZoptics has a focus calibration tool, but I haven't used it yet. Definitely going to try it as the 30x is a major improvement over the previous generation cameras. Freaking love this thing!

    PTZ optics should look into bracelets which you can give to your talent on stage.
    Then you can tell the camera on who to frame for.
    But yeah, image quality still looks like a webcam.

    I have an older ptz optics camera and it is OK, I wish the movement was smoother and the image looked decent, but was hard to get set just right. In the past I worked for Huskervision, and used high quality cannon ptz and the movement was so smooth and responsive when on the joystick, you could follow someone and not even realize it was remote. Also the simultaneous pan tilt and zoom for preset transitions is huge. I really like the Panasonic offering for PTZ and would love to see how their auto track works

    As one that freelances on streaming over churches and venues am pleased to finally see true side by side comparision. Mostly doing speaking heads and traditional services and SE seems to bee good enough for those occasions. Just wondering how they’d cope on dim lutheran chirch where addiotinal lightning is not preferred.

  • @aaronjones6843
    @aaronjones6843 Před měsícem +1

    I don’t understand why PTZ Optics doesn’t up their image quality. The image is just too soft. Even with good lighting. The Canon CN PTZ cameras look just so much better. Granted the price is almost double.

    Hey, I'm a part of a small church in Japan and we have a bilingual service with a speaker and a translator. How does the camera handle two subjects? Can it track both and keep the frame even around two people? Or would I just need to have it track one person and reframe it so that the other person remains in frame?

    If you look at the picture when you move the auto focus goes out. Also the Movement of the PTZ is not good. I have this on our PTZs at our church. Manual Camera following makes a much better look.

    Good, now if only we could get the auto track feature as well as really good video quality we'd be in business. We have the Canon CR-N500 and to be honest I'm disappointed with the image. The PTZ optics has a lot of softening on the image almost like I want to spray glass cleaner on the lens, but I know it's the small sensor. Good video though and helpful to know about it so thanks for doing it.

    • @thomascantrell
      @thomascantrell Před měsícem

      @@thomaslambrightthat’s a good question, I‘d second it… the N500 should have decent image quality from my experience.
      I have only good things to say about the image quality on the N500. It’s comparable to other broadcast PTZs like Panasonic’s UE150’s.
      Granted it probably won’t compete with a Fujinon zoom on a broadcast body, but for a PTZ the N500 is decent for our use.
      Autotracking used to be awful though, and then appears to have greatly improved in the July 2024 firmware.
