Hands down these are my favourite types of videos, visiting grocery stores, chatting about ingredients, how much you pay etc. So much so that you have reignited my love of cooking.
cooking is healthier than eating out
The Latin grocery stores and Walmart carry the bouillon with tomato!
Benji!! You can find that tomato beef/chicken bullion in the Mexican Grocery Store. Greetings from Portland Oregon🪅💫🎐
Benji, you should go to local Seattle grocery stores like Fou Lee’s or Seattle Super Market or Mekong Market. I would love to see videos focusing on local stores!!
I’ve been a silent viewer for more than a decade but from You & Judy’s vlogs i wanted to visit Seattle/PNW and when I did last year, I fell in love! I’m from South Fl, so it was so refreshing to actually see trees/nature & not just concrete & apartment buildings! Thank you w/ all my heart!! ❤❤❤
You should try adding taro root, water spinach (instead of bak choy) and okra in your sinigang.
We do sell noodles in a box, but you just have to call the store and put one on hold for you and depends on shipment if we have some in the back stock good see you again at work
The bullion with tomato is usually near the Spanish food section here in NY or near the Goya products
benji and judy are the most nicest people. saw benji last year at the airport and it was busy but he stopped, took a pic and chatted a little. ❤️
Benji you are a natural presenter always got something to say I just love watching you, you look the same in the videos of Julianna as a newborn. You and Judy are a great mum and dad and husband and wife I wish you all happiness btw your cooking is brilliant xx
Please go to Lam's Seafood Asian Market in Tukwila! There is so much more Asian and unique ingredients you can find there as well! 😄
18:13 I agree! I loved that competition with Matt. Now who remembers the chocolate cookie challenge with Byron Talbott?
love videos of you & one of the big girls cooking together! ❤
I love watching you shop and cook!
Pasture raised chickens have very orange red yolks because hens feast on bugs like grasshoppers and grubs in addition to their feed
Love your videos benji! I made mushroom pasta tonight and i had some mushroom bouillon so I added some to my sauce so yummy! Hubby approved! I love seeing new teqniques!
I love seeing the different seeing the different types of food you cook. You make the recipes so easy to cook 😊😊😊
I'm glad you resurrected your channel and have great food/cooking content.
Benji we really enjoy your channel, love these grocery shops and best part is that you share so much of knowledge and experience in your grocery videos (that’s your USP) ❤
I really enjoy the grocery shopping videos! Loved this one especially because the Asian markets are my favorite in choice of grocery stores! Also, you might be able to find the tomato chicken bouillon at a Mexican market, if you have one nearby.
Love your shopping vlogs!! I have a running list of things I need to look for and try! We don’t have the same Asian food store here, but will look and see if I can find one.
My grandma from Hawaii made the most delicious shrimp tempura.. I know you are busy and probably have a whole list of recipes to share, but if you ever make shrimp tempura, I would love to see how you make yours! Thank you for sharing your shopping vlogs!!
The bananas in the can w/syrup: My Lola would use them to make turon (banana lumpia). I use the frozen saba bananas. I thought the Uwajimaya in Bellevue would be a little closer for you and Matt.
I Love Uwajimaya! ❤ They need to open a store out here in TACAOMA ASAP!
For the chicken bullion with tomato, try grocery stores that cater towards Hispanic food.
Nice…thanks for showing the Japanese gins & whiskies.
Wished I lived on the West Coast to run into you! You’re awesome Benji! I definitely enjoy your videos of all kinds!! Much love all the way from NJ! 🫶🏼 Been watching you and Judy since I was in high school and I just turned 31! Love y’all ❤
When we flew to Seattle..we visited one of their stores..and Daiso too!
Hiii Benji, I love all the education of the foods you shop for. ❤
Obviously family is so fun to watch.
Benji i love your cooking 🥰 and grocery shopping ❤️ greetings from Poland 🇵🇱
I get the tomato bouillon from Walmart, in the ‘Latin/Hispanic’ shelf aisle. You’ll see it next to knorr chicken bouillon also, but then you’ll see the better than bouillon in another aisle lol. I use it when I make Mexican rice also! I have also seen it at Safeway & other stores in the same area.
I don't see enough videos of this amazing place! Honestly, thank you so much for doing this video
In the Philippines, banana blossoms are added to a vegetable dish with coconut milk in it, some also substitute it as a burger patty.
Hey Benji I love to watch just about any video to be honest, your passion shows in every video whether you're by yourself or with your kids or Judy. But I must say the shopping videos and cooking videos are my all time favorite. I'm nosy so I love to see what's in the stores, what you're picking, also you teach us about different food items and stores, up so I can see and maybe try new things. The cooking is just greed on my part, love to see all the chaos in the kitchen and seeing all the fresh food to put together an amazing dish even if its simple. Just keep going Benji you're doing such a great job.
I love your channel and I follow you and Judy every day. Now if you ever want to travel to beautiful Central Oregon, I would love to meet you and your family and there's so many fun things around here and beautiful things to do.
i love the quality of this camera. what camera do you use?
Love watching your cooking videos, grocery store visits, food tours, and favorite places! I’d love to see more Filipino restaurant content in Seattle. There’s a new one down the street from that Uwajimaya called Kilig! Same female chef from Musang. Worth checking out forsure next time (:
Japanese Kewpie has MSG and used just yolks while US Kewpie has nutritional yeast and uses the whole egg.
Have you tried beef Sinigang? It is my favorite and I would recommend trying it. Corned beef Sinigang is also popular from a restaurant called Sentro 1771. You can use a brisket to make it. Manam has a version that has some watermelon. I bet Judy and the kids would love that. Sounds weird but it works!
Check the Mexican/Hispanic isle also for the tomato bouillon
I get my Tomato Chicken Bullion from Smart & Final here in San Diego (idk if there's a Washington location), but I've also seen it at Albertsons and Walmart.
I'm not from the US but I enjoy watching your vlogs especially while having my lunch at work. I like how calm and relaxing it is. Bonus when the little ones are with you doing errands 😊
Belair, raleys, safeway, walmart any mexican store has the knorr pollo con tomate
For the tomato bouillon, I've seen it at Vallarta Supermarket. Idk if Seattle has Vallarta Supermarket?
Much love from southern California!
Benji the tomato bouillon is in the mexican food area. If you have a mexican store near you, go there.
Loved this vlog. Thank you for sharing. Do you like to shop at Hong Kong market as well?
The canned banana we usually use in turon if we cant get the frozen ones. As with the canned banana blossom, its generally used in a filipino dish called “gi-na-tang (coconut cream) pu-so (heart) ng (of) saging (banana). Some people also use it in adobo depending on which region your from in the Philippines.
Tomatoe Bouillon found in Hispanic grocery stores or check the Hispanic aisle at regular grocery stores
Hi Benji! So happy to see you back at U wajimaya(sp?)! But you can find the tomato chicken bouillon where they sell a lot of Latino/Hispanic foods. They use that for the Mexican rice. You can find it mainly in powder form.
Do you have an h mart near you ? Would love to see a shopping session there!!
Would so fan girl if I saw you in person. 😮😮😮😮 Love you comp with Matt as well . Those grilled cheese sandwich yummmm.
You should have the older girls do the grocery shopping for one video! They pick everything out!
Two things I have learned today from Benji.
- I now know why we all collectively dislike the Costco Kewpie.
- you can get a bag of ice from the seafood section to keep your groceries cold.
I buy the chicken tomato bullion at my local Mercado.
FYI most Hispanic grocery stores carry the Knorr brand with chicken and tomato or just tomato.
marigolds are often given to chickens to have a bright almost orangey tone to the yolk
Banana blossoms for kare kare or peanut beef stew. Try to look at Judy's mama recipe 😊
I was half expecting you to get the canned bananas to see what they were about. It is fun to see what other stores have and different cultures. Nothing like that where I live but I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for sharing!!!!
I like watching you make my favorite dish lasagna, side of garlic bread hot out the oven.
Hi Benji! We use the banana blossoms in dishes such as Kare-kare (beef peanut butter based stew), patatim (with tausi-black beans)
They carry the chicken bouillon with tomato in larger sizes at Star Fruits & Vegetables off 99 in Lynnwood.
Really dig your videos.
costco has these pork spare ribs that are cut a bit smaller and we love using it for sinigang! my mom personally loves using pork neck bones too. also if you get a chance to go back to the philippines and buy the sinigang mix from there instead, you can totally taste the difference from the us one. in my opinion, the one from the philippines is better! we like to stock up on a few whenever we visit :)
also! you can buy tomato bouillon at safeway or walmart! i see it in the hispanic food section most of the time.
I get some really nice Tomato Powder from Amazon, loving your video’s Benji.
I buy the Knorr with tomato at the Mexican markets
More new recipes! I love when you get into different culture foods cause u do ur research! Banana flower is used alot in indian cooking fresh is always better it's pretty fiberous has a subtle flavour they chop it up and cook it by itself like a side dish.
I miss your gardening and compost videos from back in the day
Albertsons has the tomato chicken bullion
Where do you buy your Knorr Tamarind base for your Sinigang? I used to find it in my Walmart but not lately.
We get the knor bouillon at Walmart they have all of them
Any Latin/Hispanic grocery store will have Knorr tomato bouillon but I recently realized it has red40 and other artificial dyes in it 😣 so just be warned in case that’s something your family avoids.
Long beans are used for sinigang in Ph its called sitaw ❤
Benji you can find tomato chicken bullion( the knor brand ) at a mexican grocery store we have 3 differnt kinds the chicken , tomato and beef bullion
Try Sinigang with MiSO Paste..with Salmon.
I think umeboshi is more salty than spicy. Also for rice balls, yellow daikon pickled radish, best is bottled from Hawaii with chili flakes, takuan.
St
If you have a Saars, I would check there for tomato bouillon! Or any Mexican store
I'm surprised u didn't get kicked out this time...
Try the very ripe plum tomatoes…it’s good in sinigang and spinach too 😀
We use the banana blossom for this Filipino dish called ginataang puso ng saging.
Question - do you wash your meat/poultry? Is it necessary?
Thank you for the videos!
The tomato chicken bullion can be found at any Latin American foods store!
Try Hispanic grocery stores ! They usually carry the tomato chicken bullion
@benji travis they feed the chickens chilli peppers too and your mom isn't wrong she is right about colouring to get that yolk
Thanks for taking us shopping with you!! ❤
You can purchase a 40 oz bottle of the tomato chicken bullion granules at Sam's Club for $5.98 online if it's not in the club. Not sure if you even have Sam's Club in Washington. That's where I've purchased it here in Hawaii.
Benji I like that you changed the title. I skipped it at first cause I don’t cook Sinigang at home.
Sitaw - Long Beans
Woah! I couldn’t believe how expensive the veggies are!
what city you are living?
The Latin section at Walmart has that tomato bouillon
Walmart and Sam’s club sells the tomato chicken bouillon
benji, you probably won't see this but can you try to make papaya salad? maybe the girls won't like it but I know Judy will!! :D
You use the word umami a lot does that mean flavor?
You can get the tomato voullion in a Mexican grocery store or the Mexican food section at Wal Mart or other store, but it usually stays sold out a lot of this time.
❤❤❤
Some chicken farmers do use food coloring, but I think a lot of the smaller farmers and the farmers owned by an individual do not use food coloring to feed the chickens which is often mixed with sugar or sugar and wheat berries , a lot of owners feed scraps to their chickens, vegatbles, meat, wheat, hsy, bugs, vitamins, these are the best chickens to eat and the best eggs to eat. 👍
Hi Benji you can find the tomato chicken bullion at Hispanic stores I hope that help
H Mart and Fred Meyer have the Knorr Tomato Bouillon :)
Banana Blossoms used in milk fish ( Bangos) sinigang.
Any mexican grocery store has Knorr brand Tomato Bouillon 😊
Hispanic grocery stores have the tomato bouillon 🍅
Mexican grocery stores have the tomatoe one!
You will find the tomato broth at H market or a Mexican market.
Hi, Kuya Benji. Yes, those are the exact same beans used here in the Philippines for sinigang. They're called Sitaw in Filipino. As regards the Banana Blossoms, you can cook several Filipino dishes with it. You can actually use it as ground meat alternative for making patties. They taste so good, you wouldn't know it's not actually meat. 😊
Both Kewpie mayos are made by the same company but with different versions. Japanese Kewpie has MSG. The American version does not have MSG. The MSG is replaced with lemon juice. The Japanese version uses Japanese eggs which gives its yellow color.
Tomato Knorr is in the Mexican aisle. Walmart has it!
